Drove 20 miles to shop here but didn't even go in after I saw the Trump flags waving outside. How they can still supoort someone who is starving their neighbors. 20% of people in Hampshire Co rely on food stamps to survive.
Part dollar store, part convenience store, part thrift store. Filled up a bag of clothes on the upper level for $5 and found some good stuff!! I do wish the piles were more organized or smaller, I couldn’t really reach the top to search harder. Lots of great finds on silly things and tools on the lower level. Would absolutely come back — great prices and friendly folks.
I have heard of this place for years, was a little disappointed in what I found. It is kind of junked up, the clothes are stacked in piles on tables, nothing sized or priced. Saw a pretty dress that was hanging but couldn’t get to it for boxes of soda stacked high. Did find some deodorant at an extremely good price.
Easy to pass, no sign. Hope the picture helps. If you need crutches or walkers, they have a ton! New cleaning supplies are super cheap. Lots of new stuff along with the used clothing. Most of the clothing is upstairs in huge piles on tables. There are some on hangers, sizes in no order, no prices, pretty musty up there. Furniture is very used, a few new pieces are available. Great for locals, but it is not worth a long drive from Virginia. Been there, done that.
This place has been in business for years - I have a sentimental connection to it as it was where I began my record collection hobby. At the age of 12 I bought my first ones there for a quarter apiece back in 1982. Rick and his family are also great people as owners too.
Love this place!! They have the most unique finds at excellent prices. We were visiting from Baltimore but will definitely make the drive to go there again!
Rio Mall is a bit 'misleading' It's not like any Mall you've ever visited, it's actually like a giant "Flea market/Thrift & Country store" all combined. There are so many thing to check out and the prices are great... if you are ever in RIO, West Virginia, you must stop in and check out all the neat stuff! And JJ's Diner is right around the corner if you get hungry!
I will agree with some of the reviews. Neat place with lots of odd items. It could use a good cleaning. Bathroom is a single port a potty out back that lacks sanitary conditions and cleanings. This place is close to nowhere but there were some finds.
I absolutely LOVE this place. I get to go almost everytime I'm with my aunt. You never know what you will find! From clothes to shoes, and even golf bags and furniture, it's my al time favorite place to go to look around! The staff is so friendly as well, they take their time to get to know you as well!
I'm not sure why so many positive reviews for the prices! Things were way overpriced and the room with all the Trump clothing at the entrance was so packed with things it was hard to find anything. Also, everything in that room was super dusty, clearly cleaning isn't high on the list of things to do. The woman working the register was on her phone and never acknowledged our existence. It wasn't a far drive, but definitely a let down in our opinion.
Surprise yourself with the treasures you can find here! Just look thoroughly, inspect items and have fun! I got small furnitures that were good and cheap. Got some nice clothes too. Give it a try, you'll never know you might end up getting more than what you wanted!

This is not my kind of place but if you like picking through places to find a buried treasure, it is the place to go. There is anything you would want there. It was overwhelming and seriously hot when. I was there.
This place is a valuable asset to the community. Chances are they have what you need. If not, keep looking! Maybe they have something that will still WORK for you or something you didn't yet know you needed?

I’ve patronized this store since my fam moved to High View in the early 80s. Back then it was only 1 floor, but, oh the finds we would find! In the 90s, my girlfriends & I would plan a “Rio Mall” day once every few weeks (& often found ourselves there on days we felt HS couldn’t be endured). We had the best time hunting for hidden gems upstairs in the clothes piles, but definitely needed time to pick through- some piles were/are up to the ceiling. The past two decades I’ve had the most fun in their furniture section finding everything from strollers & office chairs to mattresses, cribs, armoires, vintage mirrors & treadmills. My mom has a “Rio Mall” day twice a month with her retired friends & they love buying toys & knickknacks for grandkids & for repurposing. They’ve held large pieces we purchased til we could get a truck to pick it up & often help the little ladies get the heavy stuff loaded up. Really it’s a fantastic place hidden in what may be the smallest town in WV. The only thing I’d like to see is a renewed interest in selling secondhand clothing by sorting the piles, tossing the inner cores that haven’t been touched since ‘92 & making it easier for one to see what they really have up there. Right now we can really only search the racks or the outer “shell” of the table piles, leaving the majority of it unable to be gotten to. Still, a worthwhile adventure we travel an hour one way just to visit.
Rio Mall, what a deal is all I have to say!! Friendly atmosphere, if your looking for it you'll find it here. You'll never leave empty handed. Great prices, they have it ALL!!
My partner's grandmother lives about four minutes from the Rio Mall and today was my first experience in going! It has been hyped up to me for a long time by his family. You have to keep in mind that this is a thrift store and it is most certainly an adventure when you visit.
They have lots of different items, way more than this very small community would probably ever need but it is an attraction in its own right.
They have two floors; the first floor has two sections to it. The further section has furniture and a lot of it for fairly reasonable prices. They also had a lot of grandfather clocks too. The 'main' part of the first floor has pretty much any general merchandise you could imagine including some packaged foods and fresh local produce. They had a lot of new lawn and home decor which was actually really nice; forest and farm themed as well as lots of bears on jugs, vases, and lamps.
The second floor is ALL clothing and other linens and it is a HUNT to find things. I found a really great american apparel t shirt and a fabulous music festival hat, though not much else.
The people I met there were friendly and I think it is a family business. Just as a heads up make sure you have cash as they do not accept credit or debit. A fun experience if you are ready for thrifting!
Where else can you find gently worn name brand clothes for $1 and under ...u can keep ur well organized thrift stores, going to Rio mall is an adult treasure hunt everytime
I love this place. It's like a thrift store mixed with some new goods. Nice folks. Just don't get confused by the name Mall. It's a country thrift store.

I go to Rio Mall as often as I can. This is the best place to find furniture reasonably priced and much more. The name may be deceiving because this is no ordinary mall yet it has so much to offer.
This is in my mom's hometown, and we go there every time we visit! You WILL need to invest time digging to find what you want, but when you find it, it will be CHEAP! Both of my daughters have bought lots of baby clothes here, mom (& probably half the town) has bought several pieces of furniture, and beyond that they have tools, toys, shoes, household items and some fresh produce! Actually almost anything you can think of you can find here.
