Needed a tow to a shop for a flat tire and these folks got me the quickest and for the best price out of several shops I called! They got to me in about 30 minutes which was great and brought me across the city for $90. The gentleman who picked up my car easily got my car loaded in a less than convenient location! He was professional and the truck was clean and comfortable for my quick ride. Highly reccomend!
This towing company is awful. The first time my insurance company called them to come they were not able to tow my vehicle unless I drove it out of my garage and onto the street. Kind of defeats the purpose of a towing right? What would they have done if my car was too dead to even start? Second time my insurance company called them I asked for a different company because this one was awful but they still used this company I don’t know why. The guy came an hour early and I wasn’t ready and he hung up on me. Never came back and left me hanging and I almost missed my appointment at the auto shop because I was stranded. Don’t use this towing company. They’re god awful. Not professional and will abandon appointments when they are in the wrong. I will be letting the Better business bureau and consumer reports know about this as well.
These folks are crooked. Period. I was required to get my vehicle out of impound after some traffic violations. For those of you who don't know, the Public Service Commission dictates the maximum cost of every element of these types of tows, third-party tow. Not only did they demand documentation that it turns out wasn't required by law, which costed me a couple of more days without a vehicle. However, that's nothing compared to all the extra charges that are illegal. For instance, despite it being a 9 minute drive, I was charged for 75 minutes, overtime. I was charged storage on every single day, including the day I was towed and the day I picked up the vehicle, and both of those charges are implicitly prohibited by to PSC. I tried to argue the charges twice, once with Nancy, and another time with the driver who met me at their shop, but Nancy said she wasn't going to argue with me, and the driver who had to accept my fees said conveniently that he doesn't know anything about the fees. I filed a formal complaint with the PSC. You're right, Nancy! We're not going to argue on the fees. I understand capitalism, but to get people in a position where they have to have several specific ÿdocuments and then overcharging them knowing that if you don't pay, it's just going to keep adding up amounts to extortion. I wonder how many other folks have they overcharged because they simply don't know that the PSC sets the rates for those tows.
Had an accident due to weather conditions traveling to OH from NC less than 1mile from this business. Police sent them to tow us here. Nice guys, helpful, & friendly but wow expensive tow fees! Over $500 for less than a mile. We were able to drive away same day. Still unable to get a receipt for paid tow fee.
Very rude driver left when I changed towing destination. I caught up to & followed him for 20 miles & he would not stop or tell me what was happening. I will not use this company again.
I waited 4 hours for a tow and then kept getting sent to voicemail when I called this was uncalled for I called at 4pm to get my car towed it is now 9pm and still no one has shown up they keep changing the time and not answering worst company I have ever had to have my car towed by. Sitting in a hot car for hours trying to find babysitter to relieve the other baby sitter I hope this never happens to their daughtes, mother sister or wife the way they have treated me .
I was very pleased with how the employees treated me and my friend at the tow yard ,they worked well with us and at the end of the day we were able to drive are vehicle out of the impound yard with no problems. Thanks again Mountain Auto <3
Called for a tow. They told me it would be about an hour and a half and a driver would call me when on the way. No one ever called. They totally blew me off.
Cody was absolutely amazing!! He picked us up in no time when we were stranded on l-77 twenty miles outside of Charleston. He is such a class act! Absolutely the nicest guy and we are so thankful! Highly recommend. Thank you Cody!!!
I was recently on a road trip to Ohio when my car lost traction and I hydroplaned into a concrete wall. The police called this towing company to help me out. My family lives in North Carolina so they had a four hour trip to come pick me up. Mountain Auto allowed me to stay in their office because it was already dark and raining. They allowed me to stay there until I could find a hotel to stay at, I was prepared to walk to my hotel and they refused to let me walk and instead gave me a free ride to the hotel. Honestly, made one of the scariest moments of my life a lot easier and treated me with respect and care. Thank you guys for all that you do, I know this job can often be a thankless one, yet you do it with compassion.
Supposed to arrive in "2 hours". After 2 1/2 hours we called and the new estimate was "at least another 2 hours" which really means "tomorrow". Apparently they have 1 driver and if he is busy, forget it.
Mountain Auto is unreliable. My insurance company hired them to tow our car. Mountain Auto said they would be there within 90 minutes. Then they said they could not be there. We were left stranded on the interstate for more than 3 hours. I called the dispatcher and let her know I was unhappy. My insurance co found a different towing company whose driver was nice and reliable.
Was referred by my insurance. Was suppose to pick car up the following day but came that evening I left my keys with a family member so they came that evening without my permission. Told my insurance company where to get key and they went to their townhouse to get the key they saw there logo on their truck Mountain Auto they took my car and now they say they didn't pick it up and I have eye witnesses and now they are denying they got it. I had to call 911 and make a stolen car report. Don't use them your car could get stolen. This place is a nightmare.
Car broke down, had it towed and they “repaired it”. Cost over $1000 and broke down again the next day. Do no recommend their service at all. Charged too much and didn’t even fix the car. Would give 0 stars if I could.
This company left us stranded in the side of the road for almost 4 hours. Their reason was confusion on our location even though we gave them a specific mile marker. When we called for the 5 time they hung up on us and would not pick up again. Once we picked up, our driver was very personable and efficient. Overall terrible customer service and communication, but good people behind the wheel.

Going through my insurance company for vandilism to my vechicle, I needed to be towed from my house to the mechanic's. The insurance representative made arrangements and the estimated time of arrival was 9:50am and was advised that they would call me when they were 5-10 minutes out. At 10:55 i received a follow up call from my insurance agent checking on the status. They called and the lady told her they would call me shortly. Another hour passed with no contact from Mountain Auto and I called them. A man answered and I told him I had been waiting and he said he had just gotten in and would call me back and hung up without taking my name or telephone number. I called and cancelled their service and went with Copley.
