Rating a track is extremely subjective. The staff, all the way from track safety to the janitorial team, was amazing. Our 2 day race included 4 car fires, 1 obliterated deer, and 2 instances of track damage. Each time, the staff was able to safely return the track to racing conditions in less time than the estimates they provided. Facilities were clean.
Now, the not so great. (1) Baboom! There is a government testing facility touching the property, and from the aerial view, you wouldn’t be able to determine if you’re on a bomb range, or skid pad for cars. Strategic positioning, I’m sure. You MUST be careful where you wonder. You MUST stay to obviously marked paths. You WILL hear explosions and fully automatic weapon fire at odd hours. Garda facility touching the property has a K9 training yard you absolutely do not want to get near. (1.2) You may also see random military aircraft performing practice maneuvers, which is ultimately really cool if you enjoy planes. A bonus “plus” for us!
(2) This is a carry in, carry out track. There are NO trash cans available in the paddock. You MUST bring lash trash bags, and take them to the provided dumpsters after your event. Even so, everybody seems to do a good job with this. The facilities are ridiculously litter-free regardless of no trash cans. So, keep it that way if you visit.
(3) NO POTABLE WATER AVAILABLE ON SITE. NO RV DUMP SITE. You must bring your own water for drinking, and gallons to fill your tanks. Was unable to make the app-controlled electric hookup work for our paid spot, and had to borrow from the team next to us. You must make arrangements to dump your gray and black tanks elsewhere, or bring your own disposal tanks.
(4) Track is short and relatively narrow. Think 2 lane highway. Lacks a blend line, and pit-lane exit is located in the back straight. Not suggested for rookies. Hot pit area is large, flat, and has good visibility. Lots of fun to be had on the S bend.
What an awesome place. I had the best time at the Friday At The Track learning how to drive the track. My instructor Kevin was great, incredibly patient and knowledgeable. I can't wait to do it again!
Was our 1st trip there on 6/14/25 NC Bike Weekend and everything was going well till Sat afternoon when a bad hail/wind storm came thru and tore or demolished everyone's tents and flipped over alot of bikes on the ground and completely flooded the parking lot..Our 20' ft trailer was swaying back n forth and lifted up and from the back and slammed back down on pavement 6' away off the wood block we had it sitting on....needless to say was scarry being inside and just hearing the wind hail and blow thru there. My suggestion if any storms in area secure your bikes inside trailer and take down your tents and put things you don't want ruin inside trailer AND....Dont park in
" Area May Flood" was worse down that end of parking lot, although was flooded everywhere because soo much rain came in a matter of minutes.....alot of trees and power line came down on the track and flooded that area as well so canceled event on Sunday for clean up; did refund our $ which was nice. But they should not let people park there if Heavy Rain/Flash Flood expected ,either fix the drain pipe area or dont have people park that end of parking lot.... I felt bad for the guy in tent that was parked as you come into parking lot on right, does say flood area but Im sure the Track owners knew the area can flood like that..Should have told people its very prone to flooding as high as people's knees and Should move to higher ground..Most people coming there may not be familiar with flooding like that so wasn't expecting it to be havoc like it was...we almost was gonna park along there but glad we didn't. BUT All In All was good up until that episode. My son liked the track but not sure we come back if any chance of rain/storms; We all lost $$ that day stuff got tore up and 1 guy even lost his Suit that was attached to his tent went flying away, hope he found it ?
Paid my 60 dollars for myself and my wife on July 4th 2025. Money is supposed 2 be refunded upon leaving and giving wrist band back.. was told it wouldn't allow them to return money to my card.they said they would take care of it and get my money back into my account.. I've called and spoke with someone about thos.they told me they'd handle the refund.. 2 days later I've heard nothing from them,still haven't gotten my money back.called yesterday and left a message.no response from anyone .I just want my money back as I was told I' should expect.. NEVER AGAIN... they won't take cash at the gate.yet this would've avoided all of this.
Signed up for the opening day get on track event and just finished up my first session. Wow, what a track. Very nice, secluded in the trees, but still easy to navigate circuit. I was in group 2, so I went up into the tower to watch all the cool cars fly by in group 1. I'm super impressed with this place so far. Can't wait for the next session in 1 hour! ?
Went for the My Track Time event this Thursday. Excellent introductory course to track driving with 45 minutes of track time. Instructors were very welcoming and informative- perfect event for novice drivers wanting to learn the line around Summit Point. Tracks were well maintained. I highly recommend this place (and event) for any drivers wishing to bring their car to the track.
The track is always fun. I was there last weekend for the Jefferson 500. Good event with lots of classic sports cars. Needs some work on the bleachers but still a great track to walk around.
What a nice track! Track day was all kinds of fun. Plenty of places to watch the kids turning laps. Summit Point is family friendly and managed by some of the best. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
Fantastic track that is always well run! As a participant it's great and they have some nice stands for the spectators along the front straight. I enjoy going there everytime!!
Clean facilities, quiet paddock at night thanks to electricity! Very few, if any, loud generators running, you can actually hear yourself think and be more relaxed while planning the next practice/race session, conversate calmly, best of all, sleep peacefully at night, ready to ride. Cars and motorcycles. Spectator stands in multiple inner and outer turns around summit point configuration. The overall park hosts many other layouts of varied configurations, scale, and surface waiting to be discovered. Studying the map, it is noticeable that the main central track has fast turns so a generally quicker pace than some may be used to from smaller, tighter turn tracks elsewhere, so may need to adjust for proper gearing. Surrounded by nature and their unique design on the appearance. Track surface is mostly flat, but smooth and clean. Attentive and friendly staff. Definitely worth the visit
I STRONGLY recommend the instructors at BSR. If you have a new driver and live close enough to this location, you are doing them a disservice by not sending them to the accident avoidance course there. It will make them much better drivers...and you as well if you attend. Help lessen the chance of losing a young loved one to a car crash by enrolling them today! Perhaps the best $345 you'll ever spend on your kid(s)!
Favorite local track. Continuously improving. Friendly and well run. WiFi throughout and lots of power for trailers, campers, etc. Excellent surface and maintenance.
I'm not really a car person. But thus place is amazing! You are right there in the action. Able to watch some talented and novice drifters really go for it. In a safe environment. Will be back again!
I've been here multiple times in the past 4-5 years, first being the Summit Point Karting School. Summit Point Motorsports Park holds a variety of events throughout the season, typically beginning in March and ending in December with 100 Drifters of December. Usually a cheap thrill for the day. I enjoy taking pictures of events. Many spectator spots on the main circuit. Although, the Jefferson Circuit only has one, which is a corner. Highly recommended if you are seeking an adrenaline rush for the day.
3 awesome tracks on location, with many track day organizations hosting cars, bikes and even go karts. I've been coming here for awhile and %100 recommend these tracks. Summit main was just repaved and is looking awesome, and shenny is still one of the best tracks I have ever ridden! Jefferson is good fun as well. All 3 tracks have a shower house and restrooms as well as free camping and electric hookups.
Awesome!! Great place for a family outing. Kids love it there.
Roger Lyle's Motorcycle Xcitement, great people! Had the pleasure of spending a few weekends with them, and watching some amazing motorcycle riding. So much fun.

This place is like heaven on earth if you are a Motorsports fan or car enthusiast. Going here early on a Saturday morning for a track day is about the most fun you can have in a single weekend. I recently moved from the area and already miss this place a lot. It's a true gem of a complex with 3 main circuits to learn on and enjoy. A MUST see venue for any racing or car enthusiast while you are near DC.
Summit point is wonderful, everybody is welcome wether your going to race or just sit back and enjoy a fun day at the track! It's got everything you need from Roger Lyle's motorcycle xciement to drift narvana I highly recommend people to come here, I've done my very first track day here and absolutely love it I keep coming back to enjoy all the different events!!
