Let's say their reputation precedes them. I always heard they didn't have the best service, but I gave the benefit of doubt. Went there for an inspection and they handled things differently then ANY other inspection I've ever gotten in WV. I felt like they went above and beyond trying to coerce money out of me. The service felt crass & rude, too.

One of the nice things about Shepherdstown, WV is Brown’s. I rarely leave business a review, much less twice, but here it is. If you value honesty in your tradesmen, Brown’s is your best bet. Nice to have a dealer you can trust.

We are very fortunate to have Brown's take care of our 2012 Toyota Corolla and our 2015 Toyota Yaris. I cannot recommend them more highly and they are very involved with the community outside of their business life. Family owned.

As usual, another nice experience at Brown's. I took the car in for an oil change, the annual inspection and to have a rattle fixed which was driving my wife crazy. I called for an appointment and got one when it was convenient for me. The car was done a short time letter and the rattle located and fixed. My wife is happy! It's always a pleasure to call and visit Brown's. Everyone there is very friendly and actually remembers your name. Their prices are reasonable and comparable to other shops large or small. This is how small businesses should operate.

Browns is the only service center I will take my vehicles. They do good work, are fair and reasonable and really care about their customers. Keep up the great work!

Took my mustang for a alignment and inspection. They did a great job and fixed my alignment issue quick and at a great price.

I needed my tire repaired. I arrived a little late for my appointment. They immediately started on my vehicle. I was in and out. Customer service was fast and attentive. The cost was reasonable.

Great customer service. I highly recommend. They listened and address my concerns about, not just the reason my vehicle was in for maintenance, but other minor things that were bothering me. Don't let the bad reviews fool you, this shop is willing to make things right if there are any issues/concerns you may have, just give them a chance. I've been using Brown's for years and have never had an issue with their service. The service is very fast and efficient. The sales group at the desk are precise with their communication.

Kind people but wouldn’t take wheels or tires here that I care about took a set of polished lip deep dish wheels that a normal shop would’ve put sticky weights and they put hideous hammer weights on the outside……common since in my opinion. Specifically, when the weights that were on, it already were sticky weights. Ive asked other tire shops who said they wouldnt have used this weight on the outside and at very least would have called. Took to other tire shop and rebalanced w/ sticky weights

I had the great opportunity to bring my mom's vehicle to this location for WV annual inspection. They conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle; they even pulled out the air filter chamber and observed that the vehicle had a collection of papers (as mice may have found a haven warm location there). They informed me about it, so I can be aware that mice may chew on the electrical connections/wiring which will be an unpleasant surprise. Furthermore, they checked my brakes and suggested that I find the time to change its brake fluid as part of the regular maintenance of the vehicle - which I intend to do through them in the near future! The crew was overall very courteous and knowledgeable! Additionally, I had the chance to meet Mrs. Brown, the owner, she was so down-to-earth pleasant and welcoming person. I was informed that in addition to tires and brakes and towing (and U-HAUL rentals), they will also do all kinds of repairs to even include engine and transmission replacement through Jasper Motors/Transmissions. I would welcome anyone from within the area to give these guys a try: you will NOT regret it! (Make sure you call them to set up an appointment, so you're not waiting too long - if you're "in a rush"). Thank you for doing such a diligent job, guys!

Recently I had occasion to require service on my SUV. Being relatively new to the area I sought out some of my friends and got a great recommendation on Browns Auto Care Center 7735 Martinsburg Pike, Shepherdstown, WV. I called Browns and I was easily able to get my car in for service at a time convenient to me. When I brought my car in for the required service, Scott, at the Service Desk went over, in detail, everything that was required to service my car and provided me with what I felt was a fair and reasonable estimated cost. When my car was ready and I might add within the timeframe as promised, I picked up my car and Scott once again went over everything that was done to my satisfaction. My cost was spot on the estimate. I must say that Scott and the other people I came in contact with were very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend Browns Auto Care Center for your automotive needs I’m confident that you too will leave with a satisfied smile.

I have a 2001 Lexus and needed a 4-wheel alignment. Unfortunately, one of the rear adjusters was worn-out and needed replacement to properly align the wheels. It took a lot of research and searching to find the part but Brown's was able to obtain a replacement in a few days and align my older car. Many thanks!

Recently had a bolt go through my tire right before a road trip. They were able to squeeze me in quickly and get me out on my road trip with only minimal delay. Brown's has worked on all my cars at some point. Every time the experience has been great and the work they did on the cars was superb.

As always, Browns service team did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing wiring damage from a rodent. I am greatly appreciative for their continuous support in keeping my multiple cars it great running condition and regularly maintained. I strongly recommend this business to anyone who wants an honest mechanic with the skills to ensure issues are resolved correctly. Quality work! Very pleased to be a regular customer!

Was able to get my car in at Brown's the next day for a state inspection after another business flaked on my appointment. I had anticipated waiting at the shop for my service, but was informed when I arrived that they were running behind. Scott graciously offered to drive me home and then picked me up when they were finished. Much appreciated since I still need to log on to work and it was quite warm for an unanticipated walk back home.

"Brown's goes the Third Mile".......I have been taking my Ford Fusion to Brown's Auto Service for repairs and regular maintenance/oil change. Two days ago I had a very unique problem...my VISA credit card fell through a small crack under driver's seat. I could not retrieve it, so I went to nearby Brown's to see if they could retrieve the credit card. Ronnie, the owner/manager, took the time to cheerfully retrieve the credit card. Using his ingenuity, he was able to pull out the card from under the car's carpet, without tearing anything.I share this experience because it reflects their dedication to resolving all types of auto problems!!!! Later, I offered a payment for his time/service; Ronnie refused my payment request! We are grateful for their cheerful and quality auto services!!! Praise the Lord!

Browns is a well-established community business. The staff is personable, friendly and professional. My car problem was unique. It required repairing custom work for my son's wheelchair van. I can't think of any other business that would have taken the time to try and solve the issues. Take any vehicle there and you will be well taken care of!

Since recently moving to West Virginia, I have been taking my Prius to Brown's for service. They have best customer service I have experienced. They provide detailed information about the status of the car, with a thorough justification for any recommended service. They get five stars from me.

I came in to get tires installed, an oil change, and a yearly state inspection. I was ultra impressed with the customer service. The young lady who wrote up my service was very professional. After the repair was finished, both owners made sure to introduce themselves to me and shake my hand. I received a full report of the state inspection, including an emailed report with photographs of my car's current issues and the condition of wearables that were in good working order. If you value professionalism and excellent customer service don't bother with other places. Go to Brown's.

I just moved here from Ma and was trying to find a place where I could really trust. Very hard to find but I did! I had a coupon from AAA for a oil change and tire rotation. My bill was just what the coupon was for. Sometimes when a woman goes alone the bill is out of sight. Nothing more!!! I was amazed at how honest they were and VERY kind to me. The lady at the front counter was so sweet and gave me a gift for being new. I would not go anywhere else other then Brown's. I would recommend them to everyone.

One day before work I was surprised to find my tire was flat. It was the second one in the same month... I was in a bind, feeling sick, putting a spare on in the cold at 6am. Brown's was caring with customer service. They didn't have the size right away. But made me a priority. They fought for my business, and will always have my business. Very professional service all around.

Worst service, we had asked to have the parts installed that would allow us to haul our fifth wheel camper. We had dropped it off on Tuesday night and informed them that we have a trip we plan to leave for today, Thursday. We called them as we still haven't heard if the truck was ready to be picked up. They told us that they didn't have the correct parts. So we found this was true and got them the correct parts 2hrs before they closed, the task should easily take less than that to complete. They told us that it would not be ready till the following morning, Friday. The question is why was it pushed off till the last minute and not looked at all till the day we needed it finished??? If it was looked at the next day as it should have been we would have been on schedule for our trip, we would have not lost money on our trip reservation, and not have taken off work for no reason. Was there more costly jobs to be completed in which they could make more money off of?? I guess it's all about what can make more money and making sure everyone leaves when it's quitting time not satisfying the customer. I wouldn't recommend them to no one. Prices are very high as well

I've been taking vehicles to Browns for 15 years and have always been satisfied with their service. A few years ago, they went out of their way to make sure a major repair would be done in time. Last year they did the same for a neighbor of mine. It sounds like some of the less-than-positive reviews are cost related. Servicing vehicles today isn't cheap. But Browns has better quality than a Jiffy Lube and costs less than going to the dealership.
