Wonderful dog-friendly trip. Hosts were very responsive and provided tons of recommendations for food/attractions. The Acorn cabin was lovely -- a perfect place to get off the grid, but it also comes with WiFi if you want to stay connected. My husband loved using the on-site sauna. And the property is within minutes of the Lost River State Park hiking trails. Can’t wait to go back!
Great weekend getaway! We loved the ability to bring our pup along. Hiking up to Cranny Crow outlook was a quick drive down the road. The welcome bag was nice, we enjoyed the pancakes and s'mores. If you don't like your coffee black, make sure to bring your own cream and sugar.
Side note, make sure you print directions, or add to your GPS, as there is limited cell service but the Internet at the site is strong once you sign on to it.
I don't want to leave anything out, but that would be a page to write. We had a great time here celebrating our 3rd anniversary AND experiencing the micro home. We have been working our way to changing our life to live minimal and this was a way to test it out. Everything was GREAT. Everything we needed was provided with the acception of food. The home, hottub, games case, gift baggie....Everything was PERFECT accept mother nature blocking the sunset view but yall can't help that ? THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT DOG FRIENDLY, I wish more places aloud house broken pets!
My best friend and I stayed at The Acorn for a girls weekend and we were totally blown away! The tiny house had everything we needed and then some. Great location that is extremely close to the Lost River State Park for excellent hiking. High speed internet if needed to log on for work, totally reliable! We were able to relax, do yoga on the porch, sit and listen to the birds for hours with no distractions. Already planning another trip to Lost River Vacations!
My husband and I stayed here in July and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! We had questions about the hot tub when we first arrived, we shot a quick text to the owners and they responded instantly and helped us! The property was well kept, super clean, very romantic and isolated which is what we were hoping for!! Oh, and it’s SO quiet up there, we LOVED everything about this place! The house is gorgeous, and very comfortable, and we also spent tons of time outside by the fire pit, and the amazing hot tub!! We can’t wait to come back!! Thank you for everything, especially the welcome kit! Very thoughtful, and yummy!! My husband and I loved how this vacation was super distraction free (no tvs or anything but great wifi if you need it, as well as books and games!!) and we loved the great connection you get with your SO up there!! It’s just a perfect getaway spot! We can’t wait to visit again!
Shawn, Andrew and Jane (owners) are amazing. The land is peaceful and gorgeous along with surrounding areas. The cottages are affordable, very comfortable and super clean. Hot tub is beautiful.
Family and I had a good time in the wilderness of Lost River vacations.
Quiet, no light pollution, clean well water, great speed wifi, and amenities to keep a bit of civilization in the forest.
The tiny house itself is great. Well insulated and sheltered from the elements.
Land is nice, almost no human presence outside of the premise.
Few things are missing such as a sponge for washing and nightlight. Nothing major. There are small suggestions to make the experience even greater. The suggestions are sent to the owners.
I recommend Lost River Vacations to people who need to get out of civilization while stay connected to the world through Internet. Great for who needs to work alone without distraction!
Had an amazing stay at Lost River Vacations. Spotlessly clean, provides everything you need from towels and shampoo to full kitchen amenities. Be sure to check out the local Trout Pond, a beautiful gem!
