Anna arranged for our stay seamlessly, our cabin was immaculate, the hot tub was drained and refilled ahead of our visit without requesting it to be done. The setting is beautiful, quiet with a screened in porch. The beds are comfortable and the towels plentiful. It is a stones throw from all New Gorge River activities as well as delicious restaurants in Fayetteville. A true gem’

We lucked upon this hidden gem! Our daughter, myself & husband stayed in Over the Hill to celebrate my husband’s 65th! Everything was perfect! Easy check in Perfectly stocked Very clean private hot tub Firewood for our campsite Gas grill for grilling out Location 5 minutes from New River Gorge bridge, minutes from beautiful hiking trails and restaurants. No idea if the TV works, we played games or hung outside We loved it and can’t wait to come back!!

We had the most wonderful stay at Opossum Creek Retreat! The cabins were cozy and really thoughtfully put-together, with an incredibly functional kitchen and great dining area for group dinners on the porch. We will absolutely be back!

A beautiful set of cabins, not far from New River Gorge NP. We stayed in a cabin with 2 bedrooms, cozy living room, kitchen, outdoor grill, and a screened-in porch with a hot tub! Amazingly, for someplace as remote as this is, there's good cell service, as well as wifi. When we checked in, the owner had left for us some home-made cookies. ? We'll be back again!

Outstanding, secluded getaway! Lots of space between cabins. Very well maintained! Loved the hot tub. So close to New River Gorge National Park, and downtown Fayetteville. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Great cookies Anna! Definitely will be back!

Opossum Creek Retreat was a perfect home away from home while visiting Fayetteville! Our cabin was clean and well stocked. While the retreat is nestled into the forest, you are moments away from NRG's trails and downtown Fayetteville. Anna was very responsive whenever we had a question. The covered porch was serene--truly a retreat in nature.

This is a magical place! Perfectly located to explore the gorge—one of the most beautiful regions in our country. Service is five stars, cabins are so comfortable. Could not recommend enough!

Such an adorable and very clean cabin. We absolutely loved it and their hospitality. Love the location too, close to Fayetteville, New River Gorge Bridge and tons of hikes. We will definitely be back. If you are on the fence about booking, do it. You will not regret it.

We stayed in fantastic cabin 1 and we had the time of our lives. We were minutes away from New River Gorge, Adventures on the Gorge and Fayetteville. A quaint, well stocked General store is only 5 minutes away. The cabin is so comfy and clean. We lived in the hot tub most of the time. Anna baked us cookies and made us feel so welcome. My boyfriend who is a carpenter tells me that the mortise and tenon joints are of the highest craftsman quality. Lol. If anyone else cares about such things. We love the fireplace heater!!! We can’t wait to return in the spring.

My husband and I stayed here during our “mini-moon” to the New River Gorge National Park. The cabin was amazing! It is close to lots of hikes, activities, and great food. We loved the fire place and the hot tub! We were greeted to the romantic package that we purchased beforehand and a handwritten note from Anna along with cookies, which was lovely! If we are ever back, we will most definitely be staying here again!

We stayed in the "Over the Hill" unit. Overall the experience was very good. The size was perfect for us (2 humans and 1 dog). The unit definitely had a feeling of privacy and the hot tub was awesome. The kitchen was small but stocked with everything it needed. There were a couple negatives (air conditioner was loud/not central AC and the bed was not the most comfortable) but they didn't detract much from our experience.

This place was awesome! Our 2 little ones loved everything from the hot tub on the screened in back porch to even the bunk bed! Definitely worth a visit! Cabin 4 turned out to be the perfect size for us!

Anna was so nice. She even baked cookies for us. The cabin was super clean, comfortable and well appointed. Its also close to Adventures on the Gorge.||We would definitely stay here again if we visit the area again.||Do print out the map provided before you go. It was helpful.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Cabin was very charming and cozy, clean, and in a superb location to all activities. The little kitchen has everything you could want while on vacation. The hosts were extremely responsive, friendly, and thoughtful. Our pup had a great time too. Would definitely recommend Opossum Creek Retreat to anyone looking to visit the area!

We had an amazing stay at Opossum Creek Retreat! We stayed for 5 nights at the Farm House and loved it! Everything was very clean and it was located 5 minutes from Adventures on the Gorge. It was peaceful and so much of the furniture was custom made from local wood, very charming. We will be back! The New River Gorge is truly an experience and Opossum Creek Retreat made our stay even better!

We loved our stay at Opossum Creak Retreat. The hot tub was awesome! The cabin was clean, tidy and comfy. The freshly baked cookies added a nice personal touch to our stay. Definitely recommend.

Everything you want / need in a retreat/ cabin and super owners / hosts This is not a corporate exercise, the owners and their team are on site everyday engaging when needed. Cabins are well equipped in the kitchen, nice screened in porch for the jacuzzi, and close to all the action. Really hospitality and welcoming, a fortunate ‘find’

The cabin was nice, cozy, and most importantly clean! Upon arrival we were left cookies with a nice handwritten personal note from Anna. This was a wonderful getwaway even after catching a flu bug. Not from the cabin folks, we brought this one with us ?. Needless to say Anna was a wonderful host who went to the store for us and bought meds and such to try and get us on the mend. She was an extrordinary host and we will definitely be going back. I wont go on and on about the actual cabin. The pics are accurate its nice and quaint and the hottub is on point. The difference in here and everywhere else we’ve been was how we were treated. Good old fashioned wonderful customer service!

(Going through the direct website)- Owners were very responsive. When we booked cabin 1, there were no pictures of cabin one’s bathroom but we were very impressed upon arrival with how well kept and sanitary it was. The owners keep this cabin well maintained and modern. No signs of bugs or other critters considering that it is a cabin in the woods. The directions left by the owners were clear/straightforward and they ensured us that everything was clean, especially the hot tub. For the price, this is a very clean and safe place to stay. My family and I are from Maryland and our experience at opossum creek was an experience we wish to have back home and or traveling nationwide. The pictures you may see online are not as professional or updated as u may see for other rental locations but the owners have shown us personally that they pride themselves on maintaining a clean, cozy, and enjoyable cabin. Would recommend to any family! Lots of outdoor local attractions as well within close distance to occupy yourself during stay.

We stayed in Cabin 4, it was very clean. The cabin had everything we needed. Fully equipped kitchen, roku TV, fireplace and cookies :) We loved the hot tub in the woods. There are lots of hiking trails around. Anna was very helpful. We reached her easily whenever we had a question. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again.

Beautiful retreat center!!! The hosts were very gracious to us and some of our special needs as a large group. Found it a great spot to relax after skiing all day, especially with the hot tubs. Would highly recommend for any group looking for a restful retreat.

We stayed 5 nights in the El Gordo for a birthday trip in May, we had 7 guests and 4 dogs. The cabin fit us perfectly, was very clean, and we even had fresh baked cookies and souvenir glasses when we arrived! Anna took fantastic care of us and worked with us to accommodate all of our fur babies. The hot tub on the porch was a perfect way to end the day after hiking/rock climbing. The location was also perfect driving distance for several walls. We will definitely use Opossum Creek on any future WV trips.

Stayed here last weekend for just a quick getaway. Never stayed in a cabin before but I will definetly call here first. The woman Anna I talked to was amazing. She went above and beyond to help with anything. It was the best experience I had booking a place. The cabin we stayed in was very nice and clean. I liked the fact that they wanted the bed stripped after we left, makes for a feeling that the sheets and covers are actually clean unlike most hotels. The hot tub on the screened in porch was amazing. We pretty much stayed there cause it was very cold out. I will Definetly be staying here again.

The cabin was so nice, and cozy. We all loved it. The hot tub was especially nice after running around Summit reserve all day at the Spartan race. The owner left us pint glasses and fresh cookies which were delicious. I will definitely be staying here again.

Was here for a running race and the main lodge is a great social space with an outside hot tub and nice bathrooms and bedrooms that sleep 40 plus. I stayed in one of the cabins and they were cozy and also had their own hot tub on the covered porch. They have a small kitchenette and a gas woodstove for heat and ambience. Bedding and towels were included. I look forward to staying in the cabins each year for this particular race.

This place is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I rented Cabin #4 for our first wedding anniversary this year. I called Thursday to book for Friday (short notice), and there was only 1 cabin left. Keith actually held the cabin for a few hours before securing the rental with me because I had to check with my husband, and I was thrilled he didn't rent it to someone else. It's a beautiful, rustic, 1 room cabin. The hot tub on the screened in private porch overlooking the woods behind the place was so romantic. And the icing on the cake was when we arrived Friday night, Keith left a handwritten note and homemade cookies for us :) I hope we make it an annual trip! Thanks Opossum Creek Retreat for a memorable experience!

We stayed at "The Farmhouse" cabin. Management was very responsive to all our requests and the cabin was setup well for us by the time we got there. They even baked us some cookies :) Definitely not the luxurious of the cabins out there, but not bad for what it is. Photos of this cabin on their website made us think we were getting a much nicer cabin though :( Enjoyed the hot tub as well.
