What clients say about New River Gorge Cabins in Lansing (WV)

We stayed in Cabin 5 and had a wonderful stay. Very close to Fayetteville and the northern section of the national park. Minutes away from the bridge. Very clean and comfortable with the bare essentials for the kitchen. Loved the hot tub and fireplace! We appreciated being able to bring our dog as well. It is on the pricier side, but would recommend.

We are staying in cabin 2. It's been wonderful so far. Nicely decorated. Cozy and homey. Lots of different lighting options throughout. Great hot tub space. In the woods. A beautiful cabin inside and out. Very nice stay. Close to so much to do! Having a blast. Ladies...bring your winter robe for getting out of the hot tub. I was so so glad I packed mine.

Well maintained and comfortable cabins close to many of New River Gorge's top destinations, yet remote enough to be quiet and restful.

The Gathering Place was spacious but cozy enough to allow us to all be together. Very clean and very comfortable. Perfect New River Gorge accommodation for our family!

Mold and bad smells in the cabin with a weird wet area in one of the bedrooms. Good communication from staff. Central location to activities. If there was more upkeep on the cabins it would be perfect, but the wet damp mildewy experience was pretty bad

A lovely stay! We got a cabin here because we were doing activities in the national park. The proximity to both the park and Fayetteville was nice (just a few minutes by car). The stove in our cabin was pretty old and there’s no dishwasher or garbage disposal. But everything worked fine and it was clean and very well stocked with soap, towels, toilet paper, etc. We didn’t have to bring any household supplies which was nice. The cabins here are also well spaced apart which we loved. We had a fire pit and hot tub and it was just a very nice relaxing place to come back to after a day of hiking and rafting. Definitely recommend this place for those who want a bit more privacy than what’s offered by other similar places. We also really appreciated the clear and detailed instructions that were provided. Be forewarned that the internet is not great in this area; it worked but went out frequently. This is the nature of being in a very rural area! Overall it was a great stay and we will definitely come back here on our next trip.

Everything was nice and easy. Cabins are very clean and comfortable. We had 2 Cabins and we all gathered in one for the evenings. I would definitely go back if we're back this way. A day on the lake and a day on the river and we were about 25 minutes from both. Great way to finish both of our days.

To save you the effort of looking: cabins look fantastic but the hosts are scammers. 2 night minimum (annoying but justifiable), starting at $185 per night on the weekend for an 8 person cabin. Oh wait, that's for 2 people (for an eight person cabin..?) There is an additional $30, per person, per night (remember, 2 night minimum) up to 8 people. (So if you rent an 8-person cabin for 8 people, you'll be spending $545 base rate on the weekend, PER NIGHT. Minimum of $1090, before taxes and the like.) If you have six 3 year olds with you, it would only cost $185, though, so that's a plus. Again, cabins look cute but definitely overpriced in a sneaky, sneezy way.

Everything was great until Saturday night Bunch of cars parking in front of the cabin a rented. I was enjoying the hot tub and relaxing that was the purpose but all this cars parking in front of the hot tub. People were loud and my boyfriend and I didn’t feel comfortable with all that people there even though the hot tub was private it was annoying to hear and see all these people. Lots of people for one cabin. I couldn’t enjoy my Saturday night at all. The cabin was great.

What an amazing little place away from everything. Family owned and operated and very attentive to making sure you have a great stay. It is family oriented, not a party place.

This was the second time I have stayed at New River Gorge Cabins, the first time in Country Roads and this time in Adventurer's Lodge, and I will definitely be back. The cabins are clean, they have lots of separation so you cant really hear your neighbors (5 total cabins), they are well stocked, and are probably the best value in the Fayetteville/Summersville area. The pictures here are of Adventurers Lodge. The cabin has two bedrooms plus a open loft area with two more full or queen size beds, a full kitchen, and one bathroom with a shower about the size of a normal tub. As previously mentioned the entire cabin was well stocked. The kitchen had a wide assortment of pots, pans, dinnerware, glasses, and most other items you would need. They also included hand soap, dish soap, dish sponge, and dish towels. Something that other places I have been did not include. The bathroom had more than enough towels and wash clothes, approximately 8 of each I think. The fireplace included a lighter and two firestarters. The bed was comfortable and included 4 pillows to choose from, we found an extra blanket in one of the bedrooms as well. The alarm clocks in each bedroom have a USB port for charging your electronics as well. The only issue that you need to watch out for is that almost all the outlets are set back inside thick wall plates and many cellphone chargers will not fit. An extension cord or power strip may be needed. There were a couple minor issues that we noticed: some of the rooms were a little dark, the bulbs just weren't bright enough; the shower head is a little low personally; and the firewood for sale on site was a bit damp which caused it to smolder and hiss instead of burning nicely.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute cabin. They have two cabins that accept dogs, so we chose one of them. Many trails to walk, as well. Nice get away!

Nice secluded cabin wonderful hot tub responsive management. The only issue we had was lack of a cutting board but they brought us one. I would definitely love to stay again.

Stayed here after reading some reviews on the cabins as being very clean and close to it all. Cabin was fairly clean. Was also close to the town of Fayetteville and many activities. Cabin is very dark on inside. Many low watt bulbs and not much light if you like lighting. After enjoying some activities we looked forward to sitting and watching a movie in the evening. No cable or satellite or dvd. Just antenna that was always in and out of service or snowy picture. Hot tub, not all jets worked, just ones at your legs or feet but was nice clean and hot. Was also a smell in kitchen area we could not find especially in the mornings.

Cabin was clean and as expected. It wasn't as secluded as we thought, but still a nice setting.

The cabin was overall fine. It had the bare essentials and a fine hot tub, but that's where the positives stop. 8 people do NOT fit in the cabin comfortably. The knives were useless for cooking, there is only one bathroom which is rough with 8 people, no wifi, a ton of rules, and the bathroom shower curtain just gets wet and didn't stop the water from getting on the bathroom floor. I've booked a 4 person cabin elsewhere that was double the size for the same price. It's not a bad cabin, but I definitely can't recommend it.
