Beautiful place, however this is not a place that is really open to the public; accidentally stumbled on the border of someone's property on our way up from the river and heavily upset the owners.
Do not recommend visiting outside of your car, possibly a quick picture of the small waterfall from the side.
So sorry for the disturbance to the owners, my friend and I will not be returning and did not mean to trespass. :(

We went on Christmas Eve. There were no falls and the creek was nearly dried up. No hike, just a short walk to the river. Perhaps this is lovely at the right time of year, but I couldn't see why this is even on the map.
Please recognize Falling Waters Waterfall is Privately Owned private property. Owner generously allows foot access to general public to view the falls, and to access the water. There are no staff, no maintenence personel and no facilities of any kind. Walk down narrow footpath from Encampment Dr. , near small brown sign.
Nice waterfalls, but as others have said, not a park or even a place to have a picnic with more than 2 or 3 people.
Might be nice for a dip on a hot summer day, but I didn't try it.
This is NOT a park. There is a small parking area with a historic plaque and information, but if you try looking at the falls the neighbor will yell at you to get out!
We mapped to this waterfall along the way home from Fairfax, VA to Columbus. My wife has mobility issues and uses a cane. I chose this because I thought someone mentioned it was accessible, but I wouldnt say that for impaired people. I was able to help get her down to see it, but it's a short dirt hill with no railing to see the falls. The falls are small. If you're not able to do an Incline, avoid this.
For people who hate hiking but love to see nature, this is for u. Walk right down to it. It's just a small shallow waterfall but pretty, nonetheless. Worth stopping for, but off the track of the main rd, hard to find. U will miss it if you aren't paying attention!
This is a great hidden, but not so hidden gem! A smallish waterfall accessible from an unmarked parking lot by a very small trail through grass. The waterfall itself is very compact, but the whole scene directly in front is something out of a fairy tale.
It's nice for what it is. This is Not a hike. There's Not a lot of room to walk up and down from the parking (single file only). Over all area is small. If you don't plan to walk in the water, this is a quick 20 min rest stop. It's a good photo op at most. We did see some kids show up in bathing suits before we left.
It’s actually a really pretty waterfall, fairly unique in the amount of greenery growing through it. It is a weird little pull off though and seems it might be a local party or hang out spot. Lots of graffiti on the overpass above and it smelled like dirty diapers. Bit of a steep trek down and around to see the waterfall but it’s still like a one minute hike.
Unless I am missing something, there is not much to see. There are no trespassing signs posted all around the falls. Although the falls are nice, they are far from serene or picturesque with the fencing and signs posted around it. Unfortunately, it is not worth the stop.
A bit difficult to find if not from the area. You'll want to turn on Encampment rd off of route 11. The small stone parking lot is the spot, if you go past it there are lots of no trespassing signs. Once you park it's about 20 feet down a steep hill and there is the waterfall. Very neat but not much to do and hard to find. Still glad we saw it.
Cute little place. There is a little pathway to the river but the campground ⛺️ has a bunch of signs posted, and caution tape about being on camera and trespassing. Apparently they belive they own some of this public easement. Wasn’t sure how to get out to the river and not trespass.
This is such an unusual waterfall, but really lovely with all the moss. It's a very short walk down to the falls. This waterfall was only 6 minutes out of the way on our way home. It was a great place to stretch our legs. My girls wanted to stay and play. The water is shallow for creek play.
Located right off the road! Get out your car and take 5 steps and you’ll be right in front of the water fall.

My husband and I went a couple of years ago and it wasn't easy to find. We just happened to turn down a steep road right where Google said it was supposed to be and found it. It isn't kept up at all and there are no trespassing signs up. We didn't see the one up on the side of the property and started climbing down with floats in hand to go to the river but a man came and yelled at us and threatened to call the police. We looked up where he said the signs were and saw them so we started back to our car. It is a small waterfalls and a small grownup area. It was pretty but not worth a long drive to it. It could be a nice spot if it were kept up and you were allowed to go down to the river.
This is a nice little hidden gem. Not to far off the highway and a short walk to the falls. Great place to enjoy some lunch or just swim for a minute and enjoy.

A shady picnic area is also right there. It's not Niagra Falls, but pretty impressive nonetheless. Great thing to see when in the area, or traveling through. I am suprised the map shows it to be in West Virginia, seemed to me like it was still in VA
A beautiful waterfall surrounded in a privately owned, secluded area. It is not a hike, rather a scenic waterfall right below parking. If it is close to you, it's worth seeing, if you're more than 30 mins away, not worth it.
The Falls were Beautiful, but for a Historical Area, why private property posting, trail area not kept up to feel safe on. We drove an hr to get here and couldn't enjoy the Falls like we thought we could. You need to post if these Water Falls are on not open to the public.
Beautiful waterfalls. Never knew it existed until now- and it's only a few miles from home.
The area needs some upkeep, though. The path to the falls is overgrown and steep, which could cause injuries and keeps people from enjoying this.
This is a nice waterfall, easy to find and easy walk to it. I wish you could get to the Potomac River somehow without trespassing multiple properties.
Great photo opportunity thats for sure. I'll definitely return.
