I am updating this review because of a situation in my life. The original car Andrew and his crew took care of was stolen, yes a Kia. Little twits stole it and totaled it. I did get a different car, called Andrew, to see if he and the crew would look it over for me. Without batting an eye, they took in and gave it a thorough look at.

Made an appt a month ago. They are so good they are booked out that far. Took it in at 8ish am. They read the codes and with what I had told them, he thought it was a common problem that could be fixed quick. I knew I would be in it for at least a grand and maybe a month down. Got it done in five hours, 1100 dollars. Impressed by everything and everybody there. If I have any other problems, I will only go to them. Got a good vibe.
I highly recommend the folks at Ed's and won't go anywhere else. They are helping me chase down an issue with a transmission pan I had installed elsewhere and they have been extremely reasonable and willing to help, even when the reason for the follow up visit was due to my aftermarket part and not their workmanship. Don't be discouraged if they are booked out a bit, it's worth the wait and they'll likely save you time and money in the long run.
I normally don't write reviews but had to make an exception based on finding an honest transmission shop. I was referred to Ed's transmission by multiple friends. The referral to this shop didn't disappoint!
My oldest son was going away to college and I wanted to get a transmission service on my son's truck for the long trip to Montana over numerous passes. I called to make an appointment and Andrew said his schedule was booked up for the week but squeezed me in the next morning since we were leaving on the trip within days. I made a waiting appointment for 8am and a tech got started on the trans service right away. I mentioned to Andrew that I wanted to make sure my son's truck was able to make the long haul. Andrew is a very honest, personable, knowledgeable and takes pride in treating customer right as well as being fairly priced. He personally went out to give his once over (aside from the tech looking the vehicle over as well) and checked all the fluids on the transfer case, differential and 4X4 drive train. He mentioned that the front 4X4 differential looked like the fluid needed replacement which he changed at no charge! 4X4 is a necessity for Montana winters and he wanted to make sure my son's truck would be set for the winter conditions.
I also had another experience about a month later when a external thermostat failed and was causing the transmission in my wife's Suburban to overheat. I initially took it to the dealer since the vehicle was still under the powertrain warranty. Unfortunately, the thermostat is in a housing on the exterior of the transmission so it wasn't covered under the powertrain warranty. I was quoted around $400 to fix. I called Andrew and he was well aware of the issue and said he has the part at the shop since its a common problem for these GM transmissions. Once again, he was scheduled a week out but squeezed me in the next morning at 8am and I was able to get it fixed. I was out the door in 30 minutes and he charged me $65 parts and labor. Much better than the dealer that wanted $400 for the part and labor...
This shop is a gem, its refreshing to have a trustworthy and knowledgeable transmission shop that does quality work and doesn't rip you off. Everything is expensive these days and we certainly appreciate the service and pricing that they offer. I have referred numerous friends since and they had great experiences as well. Other reviews on this site are proof that the feeling is mutual regarding Andrew and his shop. See you soon for another transmission service!
I've been lied to by two other shops about price, and needed service. Ed's had a VERY reasonable price on a tranmission service for my RAM 2500, they also confirmed my differential fluid was NOT milky white indicating water damage like another shop tried to scam me out of more money. My first expirience with Ed's was positive in many ways. I'll DEFINITELY be coming back.
After a family member recommended I bring my 2007 Ford Escape in for tranmission issues(as they had just had one of their vehicles in), I did bring mine in. Andrew and his crew were on point in finding the issues, and the solution in such a timely fashion. Fixed & on the road in no time at all. For the past five months, my truck had been slipping, and I was advised that the issue was likely with my transmission. Eds transmission will always have my families business. Andrew and his crew are awesome and do top notch work, have the best customer service and have the best prices around! I had Ed's rebuild the ZF-5 for my old F250 earlier this year. It's been back on the road now for a few weeks and I could not be happier! Transmission shifts smooth like butter and goes into reverse with no problem now. These guys are the real deal. Andrew is super knowledgeable, he communicated with me the whole way through, and the work was done on time and on budget. I will take any future transmission work to Ed's!
I Own smokey point auto repair and they do all my transmission work used to use another shop, but owner sold out. i didn't like the new owner . So i started using Ed's. Should of been using them all aong Andrew is a great business owner
Took my Hyundai here to get my transmission fluid changed! I am so impressed with andrews quickness to not only set up and an appointment but also was quick to get my car back on the road! Hyundai quoted me about $600 for the same service Andrew charged me $180 for! If your looking for professionalism for a great price, Ed’s can’t be beat!
I took my business truck in to get the transmission looked at after a few issue's came with the new truck we had purchased for the business. In the beginning they thought we may have to fully rebuild the transmission. We'll they had my transmission pulled fixed and back in the truck in 2 days! And the bill was extremely reasonable I will 1000% use them again in the future they let me know what was going on every Step of the way!
Exceptional Service!! After calling around to a few different shops and getting told they didn't even want to work on my transmission, or over quoting me, EDs said they would take it no problem and they quoted me less than anyone else because they had done the job before and I knew some tips and tricks. There's a couple issues found internally that they were able to take care of without charging me an arm and a leg. I was hesitant to come back after a bad experience 5 years ago, but now under new ownership this will continue to be my go-to transmission shop.

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 and it had a bad transmission. I had gotten quotes from 5 other trans shops and Ed’s trans shop in Marysville was the lowest. So me not being rich went with Ed’s, plus my wife’s co worker had his trans done in his truck 5 years ago and he said it’s perfect and it’s his daily driver.The owner Andrew was the best. He listened and was courteous. I could tell he was a knowledgeable person that knows a lot about transmissions and not a pushy salesman. That being said in one week he had me up and running again also gave me a good deal. My truck runs perfect and I appreciate what Andrew did and his team. Can’t thank him enough
Andrew did a fantastic job on my 4L60E- he worked with me to rebuild it better than stock and at a more reasonable rate than any other shops I talked to. I received multiple updates throughout the process and my vehicle was done several days before I was expecting it. Overall a great experience, I highly recommend Ed's and will be back for any future transmission work.
Above and beyond service! Friendly, on time, upfront and fair prices! They were able to help me out huge and fit my truck in even though I didn’t have a appointment because another shop nearby dropped the ball. They had my truck serviced from front to Back in one day and even offered to get my oil change done while it was there. Highly recommend and will always use from now on, customer for life!
