Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms. I slept so good. Hot tub on the back private patio. Very reasonably priced. Wonderful staff, we will return

I had an excellent time. The extra money to have the hot spring fed hot tub on the balcony was more than worth it. I left relaxed with super super soft skin. The view was incredible and I imagine in warmer weather there is an incredible amount of stuff to do outdoors. The staff were very kind. The rooms were nice, the chairs and bed comfortable. The bathroom was very large which was nice when changing after the hot tub. I did have to ask for more towels as the hot tub room only came with 2 small shower towels and none for the hot tub specifically. When I did ask for more towels they gave me as many as I wanted.

No issues with the property or room. On check in we presented the staff with a $100 gift card our son gave us last Christmas. The woman ran the card, we both saw it said $100 in the system...something went wrong so she ran it through 3 more times. Now it said $0. The manager came to help, and she couldn't figure it out claiming there was $0 in the card. The initial staff member acknowledged that when she ran it the first time there was $100. They sent us off to our room and said they would figure it out and we would deal with it when we checked out. On check out the next day the person at the front desk couldn't figure it out. So, she said they would send me an invoice via email after charging my credit card on file for the balance after applying the $100. 3 days pass with no invoice. So, I check my credit card and it was charged the full amount. I called, spoke to someone at the front desk, explained the issue, she said she couldn't help and transferred me to a manager. No answer so I left a message with my contact info. It has been a week with no return call. The property is fine. But 1) if you have a gift card make sure the person knows what they are doing and 2) maybe don't plan on purchasing gift cards for people as it may not be honored. Updated: Via email they provided an updated invoice with a $100 credit, and I can see a pending credit on my credit card. We had a room with its own tub and had no issues with it or the room itself.

rude and awful service speaking with staff. I had booked an overnight stay for a quick little getaway for my wife. unfortunately this morning, we both came down with the flu and had to cancel the reservation. the staff member (she did not introduce herself) abruptly answered the phone and I quickly explanation the situation. her response was, “are you aware of the 48 hour policy” to which I said I yes. she clicked some buttons and said “you’re cancelled.“ I inquired about the room cost to which she said yes and immediately hung up the phone. no decency, no politeness, no manners, completely unprofessional, and no consideration for the fact that I am still a paying customer. horrible customer service and that was just a phone a call. if that’s an indication for their service in general, I would not stay at this resort.

I absolutely loved my first visit to the bathhouse. The team was very accommodating when I accidentally came a day early and worked me in. The cedar and the steam in the bathhouse smelled heavenly. I could have spent hours in there. The linen wrap was the best way to cool down after the bath and I loved they customized tightness of sheets. I followed up with a massage that was customized to my needs and left me feeling superb. My only recommendation would be a little larger towels or robes with guest size variations in mind. They fit but we're a little a snug in places and I enjoy being able to fully cover myself. Also, if there was a secondary lounge area where you can quietly relax, drink water or tea as a day guest, read or decompress I'd be inclined to stay all day and purchase more services.

I've been here twice now. Stayed at the hotel once. Have had mineral baths and massages twice. The room was very clean and comfortable but the TV did not work which was frustrating. We got there too late to have maintenance come by according to the front desk lady (we got there right at check-in time with everyone else). She gave us a new remote and said that should fix it... it did not. The front desk lady seemed very frazzled and short with all the guests checking in... like she couldn't be bothered to answer an extra question. The location of the hotel is removed so it is nice and quiet. The downside is there is no restaurant on the property and you have to go up the steep hill to the golf course to eat. Food was good there though. The mineral bath was heavenly. My skin glowed after and I felt a little drunk but so worth it. The first time I went over the summer I also had a wrap right after. Also had massages both times. Both therapists were fantastic and I would recommend that whole experience. I will be back for baths and massages for sure!

Just an hour in pool and have visited 4 times so far in the last three years. The main pool is awesome and people soaking are usually friend, same with desk staff. Two suggestions, I have been to other places that had a wall mounted machine to basically suck the water. out of swim suits, used by adults only. Second, a marker board with mineral content in water and temperature of both pools...also I have never stayed in a room there. But might at some point. Thanks Ken Mabry

Did the mineral pool with cold soak. It was very pleasant before the afternoon rush. The water was hot but with a nice cold plunge right next to it with a view of the ridge outside. Had plenty of towels available, very easeful. Parking lot is a nice place to have a post soak snack with gorgeous views and river right below.

I recently enjoyed a soak, wrap and massage here. The entire vibe was peaceful and therapeutic. The mineral water soak in the long tub reminded me of how people from all walks of life seek this kind of healing experience. After getting a great massage from Holly, I left with my usually tense shoulder and back muscles in a state of relaxation. I will be back!

A great place for couples to unwind and relax. It's extremely quiet. Customer service is absolutely amazing. The rooms with the private hot tub are just the best. They are clean the temperatures perfect. A good amount of privacy , even though you're on balcony or patio. They do allow pets but it's only in select rooms and you have to call to notify them and then they will put you in a pet friendly room. They're pet friendly rooms. Do not smell like pets. They are really nice and clean. The beds are so comfortable, really soft, cool, and nice linens. In the room is microwave a small refrigerator and heating/ac unit. On the ground floor you have a door that leads out to your patio that You have access to the hot tub. Along with access to the grounds behind the room. We had an amazing time. And the food at the resort restaurant is super good. Update- Our second time here and it was better than the first. I swear this place is made to relax. Its therapeutic mind, body, and soul. Its absolutely amazing here. If you need a place to unwind this is it.

My wife, her sister and brother-in-law stayed there during New Years and we had a fantastic time. They ladies did a wrap and said they really enjoyed it. The rooms were big and clean. And having a hot tub on your balcony (if you pay for that) was just a cherry on top. Good chance we'll go back sometime in the summer!

Elks Ridge… best burger ive had in a long time and hats off to the swag lady who helped me figure out the mystery of the booby eagle statue. You a real G yall give her a raise!!! ?????? silly aside this is the best bang for your buck in this stretch of the pnw. why get a normal overnight stay or hotel when you can stay HERE???? Not so suitable for families but honestly, it is nice to have such quiet. Its incredibly peaceful here.

We came here for the weekend, first time at the resort. The front desk checked us in and provided no information after asking if it was our first time here. We walked up to the room, and came back with questions. Got the soak and wrap booked for the two of us and went to the communal pool. It was loud and had no changing rooms or functional lockers. The restrooms are pretty old, the whole thing is in need of renovation. Next day we got to do the soak, the bath tubs were dirty in the women's parlor, the sauna was way too small but hot, it felt very cramped. The layout was strange with no signage or explanation. The weirdest thing is there is no place to sit, stand or wait around. There is no tea, the water dispenser was empty and the atmosphere is not friendly. Customer service needs huge improvements.

The rooms are exactly what a 3 star hotel should be - clean, up to date, safe and no reason to stay in it all day. The property was built right, new built around historic. The bath house experience is amazing (must do the bath and hot towel wrap!). Can opt for private hot tubs, but we thought doing the towel bath and using the therapy pool (with cold plunge) was perfect. Will absolutely be visiting again

A local favorite for over 100 years. Quaint and unassuming. Complementary tea and coffee in the lounge. Professional and friendly service. Dog friendly and great rates for seniors. Don’t hesitate to get a soak and wrap in the old bathhouse. Massages and a sauna are also available. The polhouse has a large hot tub and cold plunge for all the Wimhof enthusiasts. My only criticism is the chlorine that they are required to use to comply with state laws. Otherwise, enjoy yourselves!

I just dropped in to soak in their hot springs pool. I have not stayed at the hotel. I would like to, though, since they offer private soaking tubs. The buildings and area are historic. Some buildings seem older, original relics of days past when the spring was first established and hotel first built. The pool building looks new, updated. The pool is large, the water hot and bubbling. There is a cold plunge right next to it. Crisp, calm water to cool down in and help stimulate circulation. There is plenty of seating all around the enclosed pool house. There is also plenty of seating just outside. You can choose to soak privately, but I have just always opted for the pool. I have met cool people this way. Everyone has been friendly to me, staff and visitors. Walk-ins: It costs $11 per person for an hour (last I was there). An hour was sufficient for me. I decided one time that two hours was a bit too long. ? The drive from SE Portland is relaxing and beautiful, especially once you get to the Gorge. Multnomah Falls and the Vista House are on the route I take, so I've stopped along the way. Might as well. Crossing over The Bridge of the Gods is fun. There is a small toll fee for each direction. Once you're officially in Washington, you're almost there. If you're looking for an affordable, clean, historic, sheltered hot spring with cold plunge, Carson Hot Springs fits the bill. Whether you want to stay the night or just visit during the day, or whether you want a private soak or a soak with other people to get to know, Carson Springs has options.

I was here in 2002 2003. It was very very rustic. You get a great soak. They’d wrap your hand towels and then you would get a massage. It was the best place I’ve ever visited in my life. Very, very, very rustic. Very, very, very cool. Hippie. I love it.

We have been going to Carson hot springs for six yrs for some and longer for others in our party. Yesterday we arrived with 7 adults. The place was packed. So we asked at what point would they have us come back to enjoy our spa. The lady’s at the desk seem not to know what actually was going on in the big spa. There WERE WAY TO MANY PEOPLE in the Tub.So she tells us to come back in an hour. So we went and had some shopping and returned. Not only was the big spa room cold …. The water in the tub was absolutely disgusting it felt like lukewarm bath water. It was so gross. It was not a pleasant experience. I thought I could tough it out. The temperature of the water was actually making me sick. So me and my sister asked the employees what was happening today. We both got different answers. Two employees one female and one male were asked why the water felt cold and not up to temp. The answer we got was the heater was not working, to many people in the tub , the doors of spa were left open, water temp into spa was not flowing at proper temp. So we are highly disappointed with Carson hot springs. I really hope the owners look into the employees and what actually is happening. The ladies at the front desk are clueless. We will have to find a place now to go if they can’t seem to get back on track with caring about having GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

To begin with, the location and views a beautiful! Nestled in a valley with the Wind River passing by on one side of the valley. If you're in king suites, you can hear the river running. The best part of this stay was the hot tub. Filled with non chlorinated mineral water. One of the knobs to control the air inlet was broken. The room appeared clean initially. With further inspection, we realized there were areas not clean. Tray were ice bucket sits had rings from others setting glasses. We always bring disinfecting wipes when we travel. They were well used here as some surfaces needed cleaning. There was some surface mold on the tile in the shower. The thing that got me was the plunger next to the toilet. Gross! We won't be staying here again

We were pleasantly surprised at this hidden gem! Staff was exceptionally helpful and nice upon checkin. We were very happy with our fireplace king room. The indoor pool was shockingly clean! I loved my one night stay as I was passing through from Bend to Portland. I will definitely be back.

My friend and I stayed while passing through the area. It was down pouring rain and the signage to locate the area could use an update. Hard to see in the dark with buckets of rain coming down. Was in a regular room with 2 queen beds, no tub on the balcony. Room was basic. Nothing special. Mattress was not great. No microwave. When we checked in, had ok service. Gave us a map and said have a great stay. Asked if we had stayed before, replied no and they still didn't give us a rundown of the mineral pool or the massages, wraps or area. Got in the room, tried to look up the prices, but even on wifi could hardly use the Internet, which if I wasn't trying to look up information of the place I'm actually at, I would love this aspect. The mineral pool was never over crowded the entire time we were there even though they were mostly sold out. The therapy pool area was always clean. You could smell the chlorine but wasn't overpowering and could still feel the benefits of the minerals on your skin. If I return would love to have more information to enjoy a massage, wrap and soak in the private claw foot tubs. Would be nice if the information was in the rooms along with the restaurant and golfing. The area is quiet and relaxing. I would imagine there is good hiking and outdoor activities near by to enjoy.

I enjoyed my room and the trees around me. So great to be able to go to the therapy pool and cold plunge throughout my stay. It's included in the room stay. Such an affordable place I was able to stay 3 instead of 2 nights. Every single person I encountered that works there was courteous and helpful. It seems to me they take great care of their employees. I went there 40 years ago to enjoy the bath house mineral soak. It is even nicer now. So glad it is still there!

Booked a room last minute and was pleasantly surprised. Very relaxing, very private. I booked a king sized bed with private hot tub and so glad I did. Very relaxing, didn’t see one person on my patio/out in the hot tub even tho they were completely booked up. Def coming again but going to explore more and see the other services they have at the hotel. Def an adult minded peaceful get away. Highly highly recommend.

Views and hot springs! What a way to relax as the vacation is ending! We got a room with a hot tub on the terrace so we could have a private hot tub time as well as go to the public hot tub and cold pool. I was only able to get my feet to my ankles in the cold pool. Others were able to take the plunge. Enjoyed the hot tub - totally relaxing. We also enjoyed the fire pit outside the hot springs area and visited with other travelers. We received a tip to go on the fruit loop! We enjoyed seeing the sunrises from our room as well. Beautiful scenery.

We enjoyed the room with our own hot tub as well as the communal hot pool! Beautiful views! I put my feet into the cold pool - couldn't get past that area. Saw other hardier souls take a plunge. Brrrr! We also enjoyed the fire pit at night! What a great way to relax before the vacation comes to an end.

We stayed at Carson Hot Springs Resort for a relaxing weekend getaway and really enjoyed it. The hot tub room was great for unwinding, and the peaceful forest setting made it easy to disconnect. The room itself is a little dated, but comfortable and clean. Since it’s surrounded by nature, it’s best to keep the door closed to avoid a bug or two sneaking in. It’s a quick drive to Stevenson for dinner and only about 20–30 minutes to Hood River. We’re looking forward to coming back and checking out more of the spa amenities next time!

This was a stop after a hike. They offer public access to a communal pool - and as a senior I had a discount. There's also a cold plunge - very, shall we say, refreshing! There are loungers and I had a little nap on one. Lots of towels available. We arrived around 12:30pm and stayed for an hour. The only downside was the 2 changing rooms that are are small and not particularly adequate for changing. It would have been nice to have somewhere more spacious with countertop space for lotions et al. But for an indoor hot pool, it was good.

Beautiful location and we loved the layout of our bedroom King suite. The staff seemed to be hard at work keeping the outside nice. However there was broken glass on the floor in our bathroom. When I went the front desk she said she was new and asked me to wait on another employee for a few minutes. After 15 minutes I gave up and left, came back an hour later. Long story slightly shorter, it took several trips to the office to get any kind of answer. At no point did they offer to send someone to clean up the broken glass. That should have been the first thing they did, my family was still in the room. For $400 a night they should sweep the bathroom floors. This place could be amazing if they had great management. The location is beautiful and they have cool history they could lean into. Hey management, get your act together and make this place great.

Positive: Close to my child Negative: First off i drove 6hrs. Through traffic to be sent to sit in my hot truck for an extra hour as my room wasn't ready!!!!!!! Second , it didn't see that guests had to pay extra just to sit in the pool!!! Thirdly, was woken up by a high piercing blower!!!
