Had a great experience here, and they had great prices. I was able to get everything I needed for a small home project at about 2/3 the price I was prepared to pay based on quotes I got from other locations in Seattle. I told the desk clerk what I needed, and then handed my order form and receipt to the yard crew, who cut my material and loaded me up. Everyone was polite and efficient. I’ll be returning here for all my metal material needs in the future.
Charles and the team there are amazing. My go-to for anything metals and fabrication related. If they don’t have it, they often can recommend where to get it. Been going here for years and will continue to buy from them. Fantastic customer service.
Been here a number of times. Great place. I really like the racks of off cuts and stuff they sell at fair prices. For someone doing small projects these are great. Also have all the standard new steel for sale. They are friendly even if you're not buying tons of material
Solid place with solid prices and the guys there are super kind despite us accidentally missing the do not enter sign and going in the back way. Scored this piece of pipe for a skateboard ramp build cheaper than anywhere else and the gent cut it down to size for me as well. 10/10 recommend I’ll be going back for every piece of coping I’ll need moving forward.

Not only are they open on the weekend which many metal yards just aren't, but Charles has gone over and above solving some minor issues I had with an order.
The prices are very fair, plenty of remnants to rummage through and when getting pieces cut they are always dead on.
Don’t waste your time anywhere else. Best inventory and best prices in the area and least amount of hassle. No wait time, just show up, ask for what you need and leave. Old school store the way it should be.
I've been coming here for more than 55 years. As a child, I remember my father bringing me here when it was "Floyds" Metal. Charles is always helpful! Great job Charles!
Best metal yard indeed. Well stocked, wide selections. Folks here look happy and do not push for sale. They are willing to help you to get what you need if you are lost. Also they don't penalize you too much for cutting the metal. I believe it was $2/cut? They have competitive pricing. After buying supplies I asked friends in the industry for current market and I wasn't ripped off like I had been at other places in the past. Glad I found this spot for my welding project. They also have a tiny thrift store inside where you can find fun random gadgets and entertain them with your price. Thank you so much for the printer!
Its a steel yard don't expect anything else they'll help you point you in the right direction but won't build it for you! I love this place they always have what I'm looking for and at decent prices. The old man is well... a old man and won't give you a deal but if you can get a yard kid to help you , you might get a deal!
This is a great shop. I frequently stop by to grab drops of tubing, channel, etc from the racks and bins for projects. In and out quickly and easily. Solid selection of common prefabbed parts inside that you didn't know you needed :)
I highly recommend the shop! It’s my go to metal shop in Tacoma for all my automotive fabrication needs. I recently bought 1 3/4 DOM tubing, and the employee accidentally cut 1 5/8 tubing for me. The real kicker was I lost the receipt and paid cash. But when I went in and told them what happened they were super friendly, and just told me to go trade it for what I needed. I just can’t find shops like that anymore. There’s too many rip offs and no one trusts anyone anymore, so it’s a breath of fresh air to find people like this. Fast friendly and professional service, they will have what you need.

I went there and waited for 30 minutes for service, but there just weren't enough people on the yard.
I gave up and grabbed an old rusty half shaft and a 6 inch piece of chrome hydraulic cylinder rod so my trip wasn't a complete waste.
I paid 8 dollars for 15lbs of scrap steel.
I may try going there again when I have an hour plus driving time to spare, and if I have better luck I'll change my rating.
Love this place. I’m just a small-time hobbyist metal fabricator so sometimes it can be intimidating going to a yard to look for metal. Not this place! Low stress, everyone is friendly, you can wander around looking for what you may need, they’ll cut whatever you want and just overall a great experience where you feel like your 10lbs of material is just as important as the bigger purchases.
I love this place! Everyone is hustling to get you in and out and they allow you at the same time to find what you need. Great selection of remnants and the pricing is great to go along with it. Definitely my go to place!
If you need metal (aluminum, steel, stainless, copper, brass etc), go to this place! The people are super friendly and helpful and they have the best prices in town or online. Interwest will cut stock to the size you need with a chop saw or plasma cutter for larger sheetmetal pieces. I've been to other metal places and they pail in comparison to Interwest! So give this place a try! You won't regret it. :)
Built an overland trailer using metal from "Floyds". The guys in the yard are very helpful, when you explain your project they will make suggestions and go out of their way to help you get what you want.
They also don't charge for cutting. If you leave a materials list they will cut and bundle it for you to pickup later. Great place!
Great place to by any steel or aluminum , they can cut it for you for any size. Price is very reasonable. You can find stuff from scrap too and that's even cheaper. Scrap is just cut pieces of new metal lengths.
Great selection of steel, plenty of stock, anything you need for a project large or small. Tubing, flat stock, sheet, and everything in between. This isn't a scrapyard, they don't really deal in used stuff, so don't expect that.
I see a few reviews talking about their customer service - The guys in the yard are down to business and don't waste time, they get what you need and get you going. The office has always been friendly and efficient. This is a steel yard, not a spa.
I have shopped there often. When I first went there I just got what I wanted then went up to the front counter to pay. Every time I was shocked at there prices. I have a lot of small projects that require small steel purchases. After being disappointed with there service and high prices I went in last week and requested prices before I got my steel I was quoted one price it was high but being a very small amout I decided to go ahead and buy the steel. I went up to the front counter to pay. I told the guy what I was quoted he did not respond he wrote up an invoice and handed it to me. It was 4 times what I had been quoted!!! I told him of my other experiences again he said nothing. I asked why. He said do you want the steel or not? I said not and left. I just moved to the Puyallup area and will drive the extra miles to Seattle from now on.
I gave them three stars couse the customer service on the phone was horrible. First they hung up on me and when I called back they didn’t even say hello. Straight to hold. In person there not too nice either. The only one who was nice on the phone/in person was the yard guy and that was only when we were having knife talk. Sadly for me this is the nearest scrap yard. What I don’t understand is if you have a scrap yard why wouldn’t you be more helpful? Now this isn’t the first choice yard for me. There selection of what I look for is little to none brass/copper (not their fault). The general rudeness is very not appreciated in person or over the phone. Looks like I’ll be making the journey to Seattle to have a better experience. This makes me sad to leave this review. As I love digging in scrap yards. I doubt they will care to respond as I’m only one customer. Where I come from tho one pissed customer leads to numerous pissed off customers. Hate to say it I’d rather buy online at full price than deal with that general rudeness. The more messed up part was I was the only customer when I went there. So it’s not like they were super busy.
Family business, and they treat you good. Stocked with anything you need for the that DIY fab job. Wished they stayed open longer ... but nothing I can;t deal with. Great place to go, and the prices a excellent.
