This place was excellent for getting a daily walk in. It's paved for part of it, gravel for the other part and it spits you out on the beach. It's pretty, it's pleasant, it's easy. Pretty flat overall. Down to the beach and back was a little over 3 mi for me.

Love this place. A great hike, lots of nature and history to see. There is poison oak that grows around the area so I recommend staying on the trail.

Beautiful views, an easy to follow trail and a very quiet beach make for a perfect afternoon experience! The trail is about 1.6 miles from the start with small elevation changes!

Peaceful and well worth the time invested. Fellow adventurous soul mates and their dogs was a welcomed delight to experience. Everyone was polite and nice to greet along the way. Hikers are the most humble and down to earth people I enjoy encountering.

Great trail for the family the little ones love it. Is about 1.50 miles in and out so about 3.00 miles if you are bringing your stroller let it be one that can be good in improve road it does have a paved road but it does not extend all the way down. Other than that great trail super good lots of trees and flora so really good shade.

this has become my favourite trail to walk down. i usually go in the mornings/afternoons, but evening walks here are amazing with the wildlife you can see. so peaceful

Friend took me here! It's lovely!! Lots of salmon berries, thimble berries, and black berries growing! The beach is beautiful and the water was so clear! I will come back for sure!! There was even a seal who was swimming in the water and would poke his head closer and closer every time he popped out!

I very much enjoyed this trail! Easy access parking, portable restroom available, map/guide at the start and a beautiful stream running alongside the trail.

There is a nice easy trail that is gravel and some parts asphalt. The trail is easy enough to push a stroller. The trail follows Sequalitchew Creek through lush forest to the Puget Sound. The grade is very slight and manageable. The beach is very calm and rocky, not sand.

Awesome hike with a great mix of urban and forest. Mostly flat, very slight incline on the way back. Great spot on the beach at the end for a picnic.

Nice little ~2 hour out and back. Good for kids, no steep hills or difficult trails. Go through the tunnel and walk along the beach, great views of Puget Sound and there’s even an abandoned cement ship off in the distance. Kids loved it!

It's a very easy hike. Lots of room on mostly level path. Well managed and gorgeous as all get out. Worth it.

It's a nice woodsy trail that ends up at the water It's Beautiful It's approximately a little over a mile in, so depending if you walk the beach, a little over 2 miles round trip from the big parking lot. Keep in mind the tide time! Have fun and enjoy great pictures! We were able to spot Seals and possibly Dogfish.

This is a nice flat trail that'll take you down to the Puget Sound area. It's 3-miles round trip. The only obstacles are a couple of small spots where you have to walk around mud puddles, but it's not bad. The first half is downhill all the way. When you're going back to the parking lot, expect a small gradual incline. It's safe for the kids. My mom has a bad leg, but this was a nice stroll for her as well. We saw many people running/jogging while we were there and ran into many people with dogs.

Beautiful trail today they had fairies along the trail that gave the kids stickers. Pretty easy hike but what goes down hill must walk back uphill. Saw a lot of kids being packed back up the trail. Make sure and wear durable shoes. And be willing back up the 1.5 mile trail. The trail leads to a train tunnel and the ocean view. Awesome hike. Parking was free. Only downside was portable bathroom was dirty! And only at beginning of the trail. Trail is dog friendly.

4.8 ⭐️. It’s a very nice area to come and enjoy nature. Make sure to use the portable toilet before you walk the 1.5 miles down to the rock beach. There are no trash cans that I noticed on the trail. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes or walking shoes. This is a pet friendly place and great to get out with friends and family. There are several information boards throughout the trail and neat graffiti collections on the unused old train tracks. We will come again.

Great "hike" to a beautiful beach! My pups loves coming here. Easy hike, 1.5 miles one way. Downhill on the way to the beach, and uphill on the way back. Not a horrible elevation gain. My grandma was in her 90's when we did this hike with her on her electric scooter. Great spot for a picnic and viewing the sunset!

I do this trail pretty regularly, more of a walk than a hike. Always a lot of parking, there's a pretty well maintained porta potty at the start, and the path is marked. I think it's awesome that it goes under the train tracks, fun to watch them go by. I've seen lots of geese, seals, and dolphins in the water lately. Fun to do this trail rain or shine!

Beautiful Sunday hike! There’s parking, portable bathrooms, some gravel and some paved. There were several people out today. Trail is dog friendly. I’m saw folks pushing strollers and wagons. There were some muddy spots but not too wet. Lots of sea life.

One of my favorite hikes ever! This is a very easy and wide trail and part of it even is concrete. There was only one or two muddy spots, so bring shoes you don’t mind to get wet! It was about 3 miles total to the water and back.

Really pretty nature walk with the little ones. A trail that kids could easily do. It has mile markers all the way down (1.50 miles) to the tunnel to the beach. Starting to see some spring flowers! The peddle beach was gorgeous and very peaceful. We found pretty rocks and sea glass and enjoyed the view. There are informational signs about the history and plants. Would definitely recommend for a quick trail experience. Parking at a police station to enter the trail also gave me peace of mind for my vehicle and being out with the kiddos!

Open dawn until dusk, this dog-friendly trail is a relatively easy three mile out and back hike with plenty of parking. The trail is a mix of gravel and paved with interpretive signage at the trailhead and near the beach. Not a lot of wow-factor but a good time in nature. Spotted a seal from the beach.

Beautiful beach and trails. Hardly anyone there. Lots to see for kids and adults. Good afternoon hike to do with family. Update (JANUARY): The above was written after a summer trip. Just visited again, in winter this time, and the trip was still good. It's a little muddier and wet, but it's still worth it and beautiful. The sun being out today helped, I'm sure! I added more pics from this second trip.

Its about a 50 minute hike to get to the beach spot, the entire experience is gorgeous, a woodsy forest like trail leading straight to a sparkling beach! This trail was kept clean, which I hope new residents moving here will continue to respect! Saw a couple people fishing! Definitely bring good shoes, water and bug spray!

Super cool trail! Very well maintained sadly I noticed a lot of dog owners are not picking up after their animals. Other than that very easy hike. Cool things to see. Beautiful once you get to the water. Make sure to bring something to sit on since its all mainly rocks when you get closer by the water. Spotted seals in the close distance and my pup played in the water. Def a must if in the area!

This summer our plan is to explore parks and trails we haven't been before. I didn't want to drive far away so I found this trail, less than 20 mins from Olympia. My son and I packed a picnic lunch and had a great walk and exploration adventure. Parts of the trail can be muddy, so not a fancy sandal kind of walk. It's 3 miles round trip, only bathroom is at the parking lot- a port a potty. There is pavement and a natural trail along the way, plenty of plant life and birds to see on the way to the waterfront. Once there we saw 2 seals, a bald eagle and some sort of bird I didn't recognize. Trains go by quite frequently and my son loved that. Fabulous views of the Cascades and we could see McNeil Island from where we were. We will for sure come back again. Perhaps minus the picnic lunch as the basket was heavy and awkward to carry both ways. Next time I would use a backpack instead if we brought food.

A short and easy trail that ends at a nice view to the Sound. Well worth the trip for friends and family. Distance from entrance to the Ocean is 1.5 miles one way. A easy walk downhill, coming backup will give you the better work out. Best to come extra early here before everyone else, especially if you plan to use your Mountain Bike. The roads are a bit Narrow and have blind side so be extra careful. Also worth mentioning, please pick up after your pets and self. Keep the area clean and safe for others. Overall a easy hike just to release some stress.
