What clients say about Leon's Auto Parts in Leonard (VA)

Leon is a great guy and he knows his yard inside and out. If you ask him for a certain vehicle, he can pinpoint on his map where exactly you will find it. Be reasonable and patient with him, and he will be fair and nice to you. Leon knows what he has and he knows what stuff is worth, but if you treat him well he will take care of you. Great old school junkyard. Tons of ford, Chevy & dodge trucks dating even back to the 50s. Older muscle cars, lots of imports as well. Too much to see in a day. Yard is open 8-2 M-F. Call the day before for possible Saturday open 8-12. You must enter the yard between 8-10 to get in. Leon runs this place by himself. Good old school yards like this are extremely hard to find.

Leon is a great guy. He helps you find what you need and he knows his yard inside and out. There are alot of older vehicles to pull aparts off of. Over all a great place for part hunting ?

Good place for old cars and trucks. Just to go and walk the site alone is worth it.

STEPS FOR HAVING A NON-HOSTILE EXPERIENCE: 1. Be Respectful, Knock and announce your presence with a "Hello". 2. Greet the Owner and **BE HUMBLE** this Gentleman isn't "Poor" by any means. He's got a fortune in skeletons down there from what I looked at (and what I saw are some treasures!) 3. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT try to purchase any Parts, Buy the Whole Vehicle or go elsewhere, Do not try to convince him to take any parts off for you, he doesn't have time for that and if you ask more than once, you will agitate him. 4. DO NOT come to this place in a Group, Max 2-3 people, If you are caught stealing, you will regret it. Families worth of people have come here thinking they would be able to steal from him with diversion and subterfuge, trust me, that's an extremely bad idea. He is very intelligent, don't let appearances deceive you. 5. NO Personal Vehicles on the Yard. You Walk, you look, you decide if you want to buy the vehicle you find. Do Not Vandalize the Vehicles, there are Wireless Trailcams all over the property..(And No, you won't see them if you aren't actively looking for them) 6. Don't come down here looking for perfection, some of these cars have been down on that yard for 40+ years, I saw a number of Late 80's Plates. Thankfully these cars aren't Completely rusted out. And believe me, your heart will hurt seeing some of the cars down there that are irreparable. 7. LASTLY, And most importantly.. NO.. BEFORE YOU ASK HIM, there aren't any of those down here... NO FD3S's, MK.4's, GTR's. NOTHING Fast and the Furious. If you are looking for Mid-70's to Late-80's American Spec Japanese and European cars, You will find them here. WARNING ROTARY FANBOYS: If you heard about this place in the Rotary Circle,I'm sorry to tell you, but The Blue 74-76 REPU Here is a Lawn Ornament. It's completely rusted out. It's Not worth the trouble. I looked at it and It hurts. **UNLESS you have deep pockets and a Fabrication Shop, Leave it to Rust In Peace.** The 74-76 Couriers are BAD as well, cabs are rotted out, hood latches are completely cancered out. Sorry to burst any bubbles. The halfway decent one I found I bought. I left the REPU because these Couriers are in better shape... There are 2 SA's, 3 FBs, and two FCs. ALL are Sunroof cars, majority manuals from what I saw. There are two Wrecked R100s. TOYOTA, There are is One Supra Mk.3 Black N/A, Automatic. There are a handful of Celica Supras and Celicas in the Oldschool Side. There are 4 Karmann Ghias, A Boatload of Donkmobiles, A handful of 2dr Muscle cars, there are some International Scouts, I know I saw a 66 2dr Impala Convertible. A 67 2dr Riviera too. THE 72 CHEVELLE SS AND 71 MALIBU ARE SOLD Don't bother looking for them.

The owner is unpredictable, short tempered, agitated easily and can become very hostile without reasoning. Used to be a wonderful place to buy from. Now I would not go back.

Awesome service!!! If you are looking for parts for your outdated vehicle, this is the place to go. I could spend all day just walking around and scavenging. Visited today for a Mercury part. Found 2...price was excellent!!! I will be back!!!

Just a few years back I was able to find hard to get parts for my old Mercury. Definitely worth the trip. It is like walking through a time warp when you walk out the back door.

Good old fashioned junk yard. Friendly people, even a friendly junkyard cat.

I've known leon for many years and my dad has known him for many more. He may not have everything but he has what you need.

My favorite place. You will never see everything in a day. Cars are organized and sections are marked and Leon gives you a map. This isn’t pic a part, it’s an old school salvage yard but with late model stuff too. I can’t wait to go back

I have been to Leon's about 4 times in the past year and a half. I have had great success finding parts and Leon is great at pointing you in the right direction with his inventory list. He and I have had several good chats. I agree with his hours. He pretty much runs this yard all by himself. Its his life's work. He has to have down time to find other cars and get them in the yard and rearrange inventory. He most never takes a vacation cause he has no trusted backup to run his yard. I get up at 0530 on Saturday mornings to drive over two hrs to get in the yard by 0800 and out by 1200 respectfully. i am 51 years old and this is by far the best old school yard I have ever been to. I appreciate Leon for keeping it open.... This type of yard is a dying breed. Keep up the Great Work Leon! Don't let LKQ or one of those other modern day scavenger yards buy you out.

Place is awful. The car I needed was in a ditch and impossible to get parts off.

First off this place is huge!!! This isn't your ordinary salvage yard, almost all of the cars are classic cars from all over the world. I've seen cars there that you just don't see any more, it's literally like going back in time. It's also a very well organized salvage yard. Leon the owner is also super nice and knows his junkyard well.

If you don't find something in this place, you're not going to anywhere. Leon, the owner is a nice guy and know his stuff. Very fair about prices. We'll definitely be back.

has been one of the best junkyard that ive been to. i went over the summer looking for parts for my 2 gen camaro and found all the parts i needed and more. i am looking forward to go again well worth the drive if you have older cars

I wish i could write a review about this junkyard but their hours of operation are so terriable and stupid that i couldn't believe it. For being such a huge salvage yard their hours are only 8-3 and you can only get into the yard from 8-10. For anyone traveling a far distance this causes an issue. Learn from me and don't asume that this salvage yard has the same hours as EVERY OTHER salvage yard you've been to. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Jay is an awesome guy!!! Walking through his place is like walking through a time capsule. There's an automotive surprise around every corner. Can't wait until my next visit!!!
