If you want to have a nice experience go and talk to Vincent ( seller) he will help you a lot. Customer service with the 4 of them was wonderful! These ppl told me that I was approved for a truck the day I was coming to do the paperwork there told me the truck had been sold . How can you sale a truck if it was approved already I was going to the the paperwork and put money to hold it until next week like they told me to do I thought before you sale something to somebody else you could have told the other person this truck is pending sale if someone is looking at it I really wanted that truck

When in doubt walk out. Please do your research as ask to see a detailed break down of the vehicle price. Low Jack, ETH, and CALTEX are not legitimate charges, they are dealer add-on’s. It’s not the 1990s anymore low jack is a thing of the past, or is the dealer looking to hunt your car down later. Not sure, but an extra $1600 on top of the list price is outrageous before TTL and $899 processing fee; remember optional not mandatory.

Made an online appointment for a simple oil change. Service stated that they were busy but should have me out in 2 hours or less. Found my truck still sitting in the back of the lot after more than 2 hours. It hadn’t even been touched.

I am furious with the way Southern Buick Virginia Beach has handled the ongoing repair issue with my grandmother’s vehicle. This problem should have been resolved years ago, yet after countless visits and empty promises, the issue remains. I’ve spoken with the service manager multiple times, and I’ve made repeated attempts to contact the general manager. To this day, no one has had the professionalism to call me back. The silence and avoidance speak volumes. What makes this situation especially disgusting is that it involves my grandmother—an elderly woman who trusted this dealership to treat her fairly. Instead, she has been strung along, misled, and taken advantage of. To repeatedly tell her a repair is “fixed” when it clearly is not is not just bad business—it’s manipulative and predatory. This dealership has shown a complete lack of honesty, accountability, and respect. If this is how they treat seniors, it should be a warning sign to anyone considering doing business here.

The buying part of Southern is fine. The service department is the worst I've ever seen. I'd need a pretty long review to go over all of the issues I've had with them. Long story short, I wont be buying another vehicle from them. Which is a shame because they are the closest GMC dealer to me, which should tell you something if someone wont go back to their most convenient dealer.

One word: RUN! This is by far the worst experience with a dealership in my 35 years of driving. Our 2021 Buick had an issue as we were preparing to drive the 600+ miles back home. We managed to “limp” to this dealership for service. That was the single biggest mistake I’ve made as a car owner. The experience with them has been horrible from the minute I called and told them we were on the highway with the car only going 36 and being told I needed to make an appointment. After we got there, even after explaining our situation we were told how busy they were and that they’d see what they could do. Mid morning the next day after not hearing anything, we called twice without a return call. Now as we come up on 20+ hours of being stranded in VA Beach, we ‘should receive a call in about an hour’ after someone takes a look at the vehicle. We’ve been loyal to the Buick brand for years, are members of their opinion panel, and also their member plan. Ask yourself if you want to be treated this way and also take a look at Yelp where you’ll find some very insightful reviews.

Scheduling was effortless. Checking in was painless. The service was quick, and the video sent by the Technician was thorough. All team members in the service department were polite and professional.

So I traded in a 2021 Buick and bought 2023 Buick. The salesman Andrew told me it was old stock but still new, it had 5,000 miles. Love the car but the back and forth was not pleasant. So the car did not have floor mats or a second and book. After a month of back and forth finally got the floor mats. With mind no calls from anyone but when I was buying the car I got three or four calls a day. Was given the phone number for Adam the general or district manager. There was no phone call from him either or when I called he didn’t pick up. All of this back and forth to get an extra key that they said was there but after a month is not and I have to buy one now. The floor mats that should have been ordered from the get go but weren’t. Also this is my third and maybe last with Southern. I had amazing results with my last salesman but Andrew did not provide that. Just seems like he was more worried about his bonus mark instead of the customer. Just be careful and get everything you need while you are there cause it will be a month or more to get it. Sucks that after three cars I treated like this. I really like Buicks too but I guess I will look at other brands when I am ready to buy another one. All over a key and floor mats. It may be small to some but this shows me that there is bigger problems with the Southern way of treating your customers.

I took my Buick lacrosse in for a state inspection and oil change on July26th, I had a appointment at 7am, after hours of waiting they told me at 10:40am that I needed a front passenger time and a bulb to pass inspection. I told them to proceed; the bulb was over 400 dollars. An hour later the car was finally ready to pick up, it was over a 600 dollar charge and I was told they had to fail my state inspection because of the right passenger tire and they did not have it in stock. I asked the service rep if I get a new tire and bring it back, would they just put the sticker on, he said yes. I looked at my paperwork and told him that is not written there, just failed. He wrote it in with a pen, ok fine. I ordered a new tire from Wal-Mart and had it put on. I went back to southern buick the next Saturday August 2nd with the paperwork that they gave me showing the inspection failure for the tire and told them the tire has been replaced. The lady at the desk told me that they would have to inspect the whole car again that was just inspected the week before by their own inspector and it would be another 3 hour wait. That made no sense to me so I asked to speak to a manager and the parts manager came out. I explain to him the same thing and showed him the paperwork, he had the gall to tell me that something could have happen in the week since the last inspection so it has to be inspected again and I think he actually expected me to believe that lie. With that type of thinking I asked, why are state inspections not required every week? Then he started telling me about the law, which was also a lie because when I Ford F-150 failed inspection for a wiper blade, I bought the blades and took the truck back a week later just like this time, a inspector came out and looked at the wiper blades and put an inspection sticker on my truck, no hassle or BS. ( that was cavalier Ford) I can see if I had the car inspected somewhere else, then brought it there, but it was inspected by their own inspector. They obviously don’t trust their own inspectors and I no longer trust southern buick either. They got me for over 600 dollars this time, but it’s the last dollar they will ever get from me. I will pay to have it inspected again somewhere else. I think I had to click 1 star, but 0 star for southern buick Virginia beach in my book. PS: They sent me a email asking about the service and if I had an issue to call the service manager. I called and got a voice mail . I left a message with my name and number. I never got a call back, but that was expected.

Came to Southern GMC Lynnhaven to look at a diesel dually. Southern Lynnhaven was the only dealership in town that we could find a dually. Came in and met with Alex. He had the truck ready to go for a test drive when we walked in the door, however, the truck on the lot was the gas, not diesel. Alex was able to find us the diesel that was on their other lot. We scheduled an appointment a few days later to come back and he had the truck washed and detailed before we came in. After some finagling, Kacey and Kyle were able to help us get a deal we could work with for finances and we walked out the same day, keys in hand! They were also able to get us a trailer hitch ordered and scheduled for install within a week!

Dennis is wonderful as always. Kacie was very helpful throughout the transaction. The salesmans, Alex, was great on the day that I was purchasing the vehicle.. but once I drove off the lot and found a minor issue, I was avoided. After 2 additional trips to the dealership, the lovely blonde lady at the front and service, everything is good to go.

Disappointing Service Experience at Southern GMC I had a very frustrating experience with Southern GMC’s service department. From the start, communication was lacking. I was contacted by the Service representative a month prior to my appointment that the parts for the recall on my pickup were in and I could come up to have them installed. I made the appointment at the time with the Service rep a month out because I live over 2 hours away and I would be staying in a hotel in the area overnight in order to make my appointment in the early morning. On the morning of the appointment I brought my vehicle in expecting the recall update and 2 other services I included in my appointment when I booked with the representative, I ended up waiting far longer than anticipated with no updates from the staff. My appointment was at 9:00. I attempted to follow up multiple times just to get an update about the status of my vehicle and no one answer the phone or return my messages. I finally had to take an Uber across town to the dealership and at 4:00pm I found that my vehicle had not been serviced. To make matters worse, I was told that the parts needed for the repair were not even in stock. Which I was told over a month ago that they had the part for my specifically which was the reason I made the appointment in the first place. This resulted in even more delays, and no one reached out to let me know what was going on—I was left completely in the dark. Overall, the long wait times, poor communication, and lack of preparation made this a disappointing and stressful experience. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and customer care from a dealership service center. I traveled from a far distance when I purchased my truck from this dealership 3 years ago. It is disappointing and unacceptable.

I recently purchased a GMC truck from Southern Buick GMC Virginia Beach and will definitely be going back to this dealership in the future. Andrew was great to work with! He answered every question I threw at him and never once did I feel pressured into making a purchase like I have at other dealerships in the past. DJ was also great! He went over every in depth and made the worst of buying a new vehicle painless and explained things in a way that anyone could understand. I always dread having to buy a new vehicle but Andrew and DJ made it a great experience and I cannot thank them both enough!

Bad experience. I took my car in for a diagnostic. I was contacted asking me what the problem was, I told the service advisor the problem and he said he would call back. My car was inspected for the “said problem “ and I was charged $250. I asked for see the full report and somehow it wasn’t available due to printer issues and computer issues. I went back the next day seeking the full diagnosis report and I was told that the system didn’t save it. Bad for business. They wanted to charge me $945 for labor and parts which I didn’t mind paying but I wanted to see it in writing so that my business can write the check and I could bring the car back. I was given the run around way too much and if seemed real shady, sneaky and untrustworthy for a well know corporate dealership. All I was offered was a free “free” multipoint inspection. I declined because I didn’t trust my vehicle there anymore. The female worker was very rude and aggressive while speaking to me and she wasn’t even my advisor she jumped in the conversation between Mr Mike and I. Worst experience I’ve ever had.

Probably the worst service experience I have had. Brought in my 2024 Sierra 1500 for its.first service. Wanted the alignment checked along with a periodic high idle issue. Scheduled an appointment for the visit. Was told on arrival they did not have a diesel tech so could not investigate the high idle issue. Waited 4 hours for the service. When I got the vehicle home and reviewed the service ticket they did not check.the tire issue. They also failed to top.off the DEF fluid. Called the service manager and she rescheduled the visit to correct the missed items and said they would provide a loaner. When I dropped off the vehicle they said they were out of loaners. Said they would have someone drive me home. Waited 2 hours to get a ride home. Needless to say I will never return for service or to purchase a new vehicle at Southern GMC Buick.

I had the most amazing experience with Vinny and Kyle at Southern Buick! Vinny was very accessible and attentive to every detail and possible concern that I had!! He even texted me on Sunday to wish me Happy Mother’s Day! And Kyle (“The Closer,”) was great!! No high powered intimidating sales tactics when it came to purchasing an extended warranty. These young men certainly put my mind at ease and the stereotype of not being able to trust car salesman, is far from the truth concerning them! I really appreciate you Vinny and Kyle!! I had a great experience buying a car from Southern Buick, Va Beach. Austin Wood was my salesman and I liked his low key selling style. All of the staff there was friendly and made car buying go smoothly. My one suggestion would be . . . (and this is for all dealerships) . . . why oh why does it always take so long between the time one decides on a particular car - and the time you drive it off the lot?

My experience at this dealership was exceptional! My family and I went around closing time just to see what type of pickup trucks they had. Since we entered the dealership we were treated nicely. David White was our salesman and let me tell you, he is phenomenal! Most people would get angry if customers showed up when is about closing time. Well, not him! He took the time to answer all our questions, show us some trucks and even run some numbers in case we wanted to trade in our car. He got our information and contacted us the next day for a test drive, we went into the dealership once again with an open mind since we weren’t sure if we wanted to actually purchase a truck or not. When we arrived Ms Kacie was in the front desk, she welcomed us very happily and was very friendly with us the entire time we were there, I have 2 little girls and she was such a sweetheart with them. David did such an amazing job that we ended up buying a 2024 2500sierraAT4. The process was a very stress free experience and we ended up getting such a good deal on it! Mr Kash was also another key element, he went above and beyond to assist with all our needs making sure we left the dealership with our 2500Sierra and a big smile on our face. I highly recommend them to anyone in search of an amazing buying experience!
