The folks at Public Scrap Inc in Hampton were extremely nice and very helpful. They made the entire transaction so easy. I will definitely be going back there.
I've only been here a couple of times to turn in batteries, but the staff have been friendly and helpful each time. Will definitely keep coming here in the future.

They used to be a good place to sell your unwanted metals BUT now they start paying customers very very low prices on there recyclable metals compared to other good recycling locations that pays well , I’m going to stop going to this trashy place & find me other great public recycling location that’s pays good , for example :car batteries used to cost $5 & now only $2.50 and so on …. Place is trash and customer service is garbage .
Not clearly marked for where to go who to talk to or well cleaned, even by junk yard standards. Works in a pinch but there are easier to navigate, cleaner places to dump scrap.
They demolished my vehicle that was stolen and the person who brought it to the scrap yard was able to scrap it without the title or an ID they're about to be in trouble and will be paying me for my vehicle I wouldn't even write them a one-star
Robbys' the best! He will cut your metal to custom sizes for a small charge. Awesome service! He such a good junk yard dog the kitties hang out with him.
It's like any other recycling center. As per usual the prices fluctuate and regularly: it's not the center's fault for the prices changing. A suggestion...if you wanna take the time to leave a review, say something about why you liked it or why you didn't. It's clear that no one understands the star system, but even if they did: telling me 3 stars or 5 stars or 1 star with no comment is truly saying nothing at all. And what is a local guide?! Surely reviewing local businesses is not the reason these people self impose the title of local guide..., right?? I imagine they probably went to these businesses: but I fail to see how one visit offers any guidance. Moreover: we don't know these people: maybe their opinions suck. Maybe they've never been to a recycling center besides this one. Please tell me that one visit to q business they completely don't understand isn't a justifiable reason to self apply ' local guide'.
Quick and easy site to dump general scrap metal. Port-a-potty available right at dump site and it kept clean. No going behind buildings. Treat customers humanely.
Was VERY RUDE. Didn’t get a chance to talk her and tell her what I wanted fully before she said no but before that, when she answered the phone she answered with an attitude. Will never do business with rude ppl
I dropped off an old car with Public Scrap, made $177 off the car which was the best price my google search produced. Ricky's Towing in Hampton towed the car for me for $40. Strongly recommend working with both family owned businesses.
