Absolutely crazy they don’t accept cash past 6pm or do returns past 6pm. Just close at 6 pm then. I went to checkout at LITERALLY 6:01 pm, and they said “come back tomorrow”. Like how do you not accept cash???? It’s genuinely concerning, and there were NO signs posted in the walkways about this, only once you were physically checking out. Which like seriously??? I’m checking out now and you decide to inform me no cash is accepted??? Once I already have my items, like that’s SO SMART?
I encountered a very rude cashier young lady! She must be around 20-22 years old. She has a very bad attitude and not friendly at all! We were just telling her that she accidentally rang the one item twice. But instead of checking and voiding or correcting the charge, she just continued to keep scanning. Upon getting the receipt, true enough thay she charged us with one item that we didn't buy! So we showed her the receipt and she said we need to get in line again just to adjust or void the mistake that she did! And she accused me and my husband that we were yelling at her, when in fact there were a lot of people in line and saw everything what happened! So my husband and I just went to get in line again at the end, so not to make any issues and for her to calm down. She was the one who kept raising her voice and not listening to what we were trying to explain. If she doesn't know how to deal with customers, the don't work there!!! Unfortunately, she wasn't wearing her name tag so we weren't able to identify her. We talked to the area manager, and he said he will talk to her, but I doubt it!
My husband and I were the customers and we were the ones who needed to adjust towards her bad attitude!
Please MCX administration, let your workers have some training on customer service and how to handle pressure at work!

Employees are nice though when you go into the store. They just completed refurbishing the place and looks spanking brand new. Right next to the commissary so that's a plus.
No offense but they need some new blood working these cashiers. Not to say only young people will be faster on the register but seriously anybody ELSE. Been standing in the line for 30 minutes trying to check out and these two cashiers are taking forever. And they don’t accept cash at self checkout so now I’m stuck behind just two families mingling with the cashiers and waiting half a lifetime to buy ONE thing. Are they doing background checks at the register I don’t understand.
The simple fact none of their prompts on the IVR go to the departments is a significant issue. Every single department called there was no ring only a woman’s voice stating “Sorry this number did not answer” it’s 2025 a working IVR system that connects the user to the correct department should be at every business especially such a large customer based business as the MCX. Management and IT services definitely need to be better at their job.
One of the better exchange locations in the NCR. It’s large with friendly staff at the self checkout. Good selection on skincare, perfume, purses and cute pajamas. They sell firearms too. There’s a Dunkin’ inside, and it connects into the small food court.
They recently remodeled the inside and it looks a lot better. A bit more spacious and easier to locate items. There’s always pretty good deals in there whether you’re looking to buy sunglasses, camping gear, sports wear, or nice suits.
One of the better if not the best Exchange in the area throughout Northern Virginia and the MDW. A larger store with a wide selection of products available, either for civilian or military needs.
As far as military exchanges go, it’s a bottom tier location. They cram a lot of stuff in there, so it’s a little chaotic. The selection is fine if you’re looking for everyday things like deodorant or cleaning products. And, there’s a pretty good selection of brands of clothing, but it seems like they never have XL sizes. For some reason it’s always smaller sizes. If you’re looking for a better, more organized selection and all around better exchange, I’d recommend making the drive to Ft. Belvoir.
Update Christmas 2022. I still love this store, great place for Christmas shopping. I could have done all my Christmas shopping for the entire family at the MCX. Employees and the customers are kind and pleasant, it reminds me of Christmas shopping 40 years ago. I'd recommend coming here if you can, the prices are fantastic and competitive.

If you're a Civilian or military, this place has a great selection of clothing brands all in the same place. The store is a Walmart without the groceries, crowds, apathetic employees, obnoxious shoppers, and the risk of being punched for being in the wrong place at wrong time. The store reminds me of Kmart circa 1980 with modern merchandise of course. Keep in mind only military, military families, veterans, and civilians can shop here. The prices are competitive without the taxes. If you stop in for a bite to eat, you save 10% automatically if you couple the Prince William County (D) 4% sin-tax and 6% sales tax.
This is the place for all your needs. Name brands and tax free. Way more than any other base I've been stationed on or visited as a contractor. If you enjoy this store, check out the commissary next door. One of the most diverse grocery store with plenty of stock for all. You can seriously find anything you want here.
It took almost 5 weeks to have a few uniform products in stock but it arrived. Other products I was available to find and are many great (price) clearance sections with good products from clothing to kitchenware. The sales associate are nice and the store is in proper order. The tailor shop did a great job taking care of my uniform needs and set me up with the proper advice to look good and comfortable. The prices are very reasonable and the turnaround is very reasonable as well. The 4 stars are just for the delay on the uniform items. It is just frustrating that the team didn't know when products were coming in but they had a book with customers information they would call when products are in but there is a problem. I purchased a uniform item that I needed (after checking 3-4 a week) that I needed and was able to get it tailor and still no call. Another item was also purchase that finally was stocked and still no call on any of the items. It's been a few weeks since I purchased these and I do my the many numbers for the store programmed. This is something that needs to be addressed. Communication is important. If I wasn't checking every week, I wouldn't know the product was stocked. No call.
Oh my gosh love this store. Of course you have be or have been in the military to shop there. I bought a perfume there and I got a makeup bag as a gift for buying the perfume ( through my son a retired marine ). As I was walking away from the perfume counter lady came up behind me and gave me a Michael Kor bag. Its beautiful. She says you don't have to pay for this, its yours. She says if you have any problems just ask them to talk to me. I felt like a million dollars and really blessed. I thank God for his blessings.
Great prices on TVs and men's shoes (the two items I came to buy). Above standard sanitization protocols, ample parking, very good customer service; most definitely will return.

I went on Black Friday, the staff was super helpful in finding what I needed and we're really kind. When I went earlier, the lines went quickly. The exchange was huge and had almost everything I was looking for. Great electronics section, cute clothes.
Good establishment and prices are fair. Most of the staff is helpful and they will try to assist you. The selection here isn't the best for the size of store but the price match sort of makes up for it. DO NOT GET HAIR CUTS HERE, most of the time they will mess up your hair cut and still expect a tip. Overall good store, I would shop here.
