If I could give this company 100 stars I would. Blew a tire on my horse trailer and US Rider sent Darrel to come change it. Not only did he bring my tools that I left on the side of the road he followed me to the gas station to help put air in the spare. He also checked in to make sure I made it to my final destination and called a friend to see where I can get the best price on all new tires. If you ever need roadside assistance in the Barboursville/Charlottesville area this is the best company to call. Thank you Darrel, you were a life saver.
Darrel at Williams Garage Towing & Recovery is the nicest person and so helpful! He towed my SUV when my daughter and I broke down on our way home from a hockey tournament in northern Virginia. It was late at night and snowing/sleeting. I told him we were from out of town and it would take at least 2 hours for someone to come get us and he’ll us get our stuff from the SUV. He made sure we would stay warm and told me to call back if anything changed. He came out right when I called him back once my sister was there to pick us up. He recommended local garages so that I would not have to tow my SUV so far home. In the end he was able to fix my SUV himself. He definitely goes above and beyond! It’s hard in this day and time to find people that truly care and want to help others. 100% would recommend him and his business to anyone in the Charlottesville or Ruckersville surrounding areas.
I got in an accident driving from the Shenandoah Valley Park back to NC. My car was totaled and this company was the one to pick up my car. My insurance took over from there. What was really impressive was Darrel - when I called to confirm transfer details, he asked if I would like any of my personal items shipped to me. He graciously packed the items from the car (and packed them so neatly & with care) and shipped them my way. The items were replaceable but meant a lot to me. Thank you so much Darrel!
Towed a truck for me and my brother today reasonable price knew what he was doing and my brother said the guy that towed it was nice as could be I would highly recommend them for any thing you need thanks for towing it on such short notice for us everybody else said it would be a week are 2
My 19 year old daughter was driving from Richmond to Harrisonburg. Her car broke down on Afton Mountain and our insurance carrier sent a tow. It never arrived. Four hours later, dark and I am sure well past his business hours, Darrel from Williams Garage Towing & Recovery came to help. Darrel called and said our insurance company called him and he was on his way. I now know he probably works 24 hours a day. Not only did he check with the sheriff and the police to make sure they had not already towed our car, he kept in touch with us through the entire process. AND, he actually looked at the car to see if he could see what was wrong! A great guy who is extremely knowledgeable about his profession. Very rarely do you find someone in this day and age who cares about people and prides himself on what he does as much as Darrel. I wish his business was in Richmond, Va. I wish I could give him 10 stars!!!!
I called to see if they could change a flat tire as I could not get the spare tire off from underneath the truck. He was there in less then 30 minutes, friendly, professional, and had the tire changed in no time. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate his service. When I go to buy new tires it will definitely be from Mr Williams. Super great guy
My car broke down, and I called out of the blue after seeing such high reviews. As a female, I wanted to find a safe person to tow my car. I not only felt safe, I felt taken care of.... he showed up soooo fast too. you can just tell he goes above and beyond for everyone and really cares about people. I can’t say enough good things about this man!!!!
Harvey Williams garage has been working on my vehicles cars/trucks and antiques cars for 50 years Harvey, Darrel and all of the employees have always been very been always been super nice and friendly to me and my family. And have done excellent work for me at a reasonable price and occasionally some of the labor was free especially when working on my antique CORVETTE. If I was there around lunch or dinner time I would be invited to eat with him.
How many other business/garage owners have done this for you ? They would go the extra mile to get you on the road again.
William's Garage showed such compassion and understanding when helping me after an accident. I forgot to leave my keys before leaving my car at his garage and the windows were down - he put plastic in them until he could get they keys just in case it rained in the mean time. I also didn't live close by, so he arranged to meet me near my work while he was doing another job to get said keys. Talk about going the extra mile!
It was a really stressful time that William's Garage was a bright spot and source of fresh air in the midst of - highly recommend calling them if you need a tow. Thanks again!
I actually didn't have a car towed by Williams Garage either, but Daryl (I hope I spelled his name correctly) was kind enough to help me locate my uncle's car at another garage. My uncle has dementia and couldn't remember who towed his car when he ran out of gas on I-64. I contacted Virginia State police, Staunton Police Dept, and Charlottesville Police Dept. None of them had any encounter with the car according to their records. My family and I started calling every towing company we could find between Staunton and Charlottesville. I got answering machines, terse answers, totally blown off, and even hung up on. Daryl was the only one who stopped and talked to me. I guess he could hear how frantic I was. He took the time to give me suggestions for tow companies that could have gotten the car. My family lives in the Washington, DC area, so we don't have any connections in that part of Virginia. He made some phone calls for me, and ultimately posted the situation on Facebook. That posting got the eye of the actual company that towed my uncle's car!!! He called me back with the news within an hour of talking to him! HE IS AWESOME!! My uncle is frail, and it's looking like he may be heading to Hospice. Locating his car meant the world to him! We spent days trying to find it, and Daryl found it in less than an hour!! He could have blown me off like all the others did, but he stopped to help, and we will be forever grateful for his kindness. THANKS DARYL!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!! Teddi :o)
I didn’t actually have my car towed by this business, but I called and they were so kind! Money is tight for everyone right now, and they recommended someone closer that would be more affordable for me. Good people. 👍🏼

on June 15, 2018 ... I was coming back to Orange from taking my girl (dog) Cilla to the CASPCA to be cremated ... I was already quite upset and having a really bad day when I lost control of my car on this very sharp curve on route 609 just before the stop sign to turn left to head straight to Orange ... I ended up about 20 foot down an embankment ... thankfully I was sent 3 angels that day ... one of them was Darrel ... Harvey Williams son ... he was able to get my car out of the embankment and did this completely unravelled woman the biggest kindness I have been given in forever ... I will keep that between us ... but I cant sing his praises enough ... I would not only call Williams Garage again and again if needed ... but I highly recommend this awesome business to anyone who needs help on the road ... I was stranded because of a busted hose and although my insurance company told me it would be 2 hours, Darrel contacted me and made it in 15 minutes! He did a great job with my car and was even great with the family I was staying with. He learned the two young boys were excited about tow trucks and allowed them to help in the ways they could and even gave them a few minutes to explore his truck. I couldn’t ask for better service. I highly recommend him!
I was leaving Gordon's villa va. Heading for Harrisonburg va. When my truck started missing.I looked ahead and seen a garage and immediately stopped in and told the owner of my problem .He immediately went to diagnose my problem and said I needed a fuel filter and probably a fuel pump he said he would have it done in a few days I left the truck there in a few days he later he called me and said it was fixed his prices were very reasonable I am well satisfied with his service David Neff
I've been doing business with this establishment for ten years. Great responsiveness. Great service. Great prices. Honest, competent diagnosis. With three grown children who also own vehicles, they always come back to this repair facility.

Great service, and low prices. I went here to get my brakes checked, it turned out my rear brakes were worn down to the metal and all four of my rotors were bad (huge grooves). They were not content to just let me take their word for it, and insisted that I come look and explained how the damaged parts could affect driving. I was so impressed with their honesty and I was amazed at how low the quote was. I plan to use them for all my auto repair needs.
