Horrible customer service/integrity as a man. I contacted Mike about possibility of moving a shed in my backyard. He said he could do it and make sure it's all good to go, leveled etc. We set up a date. I was not home but my fiance was. She updated that he came and began the moving process and things were going well. Later I got a message that the shed door won't close and there were some gaps in support under the shed. I called and messaged Mike multiple times about it. Called the shop and he was pretty much dismissive to the entire situation now saying he only moves sheds but doesn't level them. He hung up the phone, made excuses etc. Again, he initially said he could handle the entire process. And he accepted money for the entire process and did not follow through. If he could not do the entire thing properly, he should not accept the job. Horrible business practice and accountability.

I took my boyfriend's vehicle for inspection today at this location. This is where he takes his vehicles for years with no issues and prefers to take them because he trusts them through the years. After an hour, I was called to the window and was told that the vehicle was rejected. I said what? The lady with the short light hair at the window said that the computer said it was rejected before and that it could not pass. I said for what? She said he put down front brakes but, for some reason, scratched it out...I said I have no idea. She giggled and said yeah you waited long for nothing. THAT was not funny, but I said I would call my boyfriend. As I was walking out to the car I called him at work and he said the car was never rejected or had a rejection sticker on it...I said I was thinking the same as I was calling you because we were in Richmond yesterday. The sticker on the vehicle was till 7/31/2025, and as I was getting into the car, there was NO sticker on it. NOTHING. No rejection sticker... I walked back into the shop and asked the other lady with the long brown hair at the window. Why is there no rejected sticker on the vehicle. She said to go into the garage and ask. I said, who is the inspector?? She explained who he was and I walked up to him and asked why is there no rejected sticker and why did you scratch off on my reciept front brakes when you told them to tell me that?? The sticker was valid till the end of this month and it's the 29th...His name is Michael R Baughan (I'm assuming the owner or one of the family member owners) he kept saying I dunno. I dunno. I'm just doing what the computer says. I said this vehicle was never rejected. It had a valid sticker on it. I said why can't you put the rejected stick on it at least so i do not drive without anything on the windshield at this point? I then said there's something wrong with this whole situation. and continued saying that my boyfriend has only been coming to this shop for years with his vehicles... I can not drive this way. He walked away from me. They were closing up shop before 5pm. Apparently from sitting in the waiting area for over an hour, the receptionists kept telling people on the phone or who walked in that they will be closing earlier again today. Guess they don't want to work or whatever the reason or reasons are, I left and went straight to NAPA down the street to grab brakes. This is ridiculous. I am not sure if it was because I was a female and I was being profiled which wouldn't be the 1st time in my life, instead of my boyfriend doing it, but not giving me a sticker and charging me on top of it seems illegal to me....If you look at the 3 pictures I added to this review you will see that the 1st pic shows how he scratched off what he wrote on the yellow copy. The 2nd one is the actual receipt charge of $20 AND the 3rd pic states equipment inspected: OK with Xs straight down. BRAKES has an X under OK... Now you tell me WHY I had to have this terrible experience when his paperwork says otherwise? It's funny because there were people who knew him at NAPA when I walked in there to buy the brakes and had never seen this before... you either PASS the vehicle OR you reject it. You do not send it away with NO sticker on it and charge the customer on top of it. I'm pretty disgusted in how they handled this, and my boyfriend said to check at home to find the receipt from last year. Sure enough, I found it. Look at pics 4 and 5...Ironically, last year, the vehicle DID pass exactly a year ago today. I seriously hope no one else has to go through something like this. It's horrible to think what their reason or reasons were,.mistakes happen or maybe he decided to be dishonest, but this just blew my mind how they treated me and BLEW my entire day where I can not use the vehicle at all. Thanks, I really needed this on my day off...
Very kind with quick service, attentive, and fairly priced. The diner next door has some great fresh food and equally great service which gives a good option to pass the time during the wait. Thanks so much for taking care of my family's vehicles all these years.
Very courteous. Blew a tire on Thanksgiving. They had me taken care of by Monday. Super thankful for the communication and help. Will always bring my car here.
Really a -5: My son went for an inspection last week and got a rejection for a front right tire. The adhesive on the sticker wasn't good so that blew out the window. He got the tire replaced on Friday but went back for the reinspection on Saturday and they were closed. He went back today and they told him that he now needs an axel and another tire. So I guess because they didn't see the rejection sticker in the window, they were also trying to charge him another $20 (New Inspection). They didn't bother to look back in the inspection book -it hasn't been 15 days. Before he left he took his phone inside and told them that I wanted to speak with them to get a clear story on what was happening and they all refused to speak to me including the ladies in the office. This reinspection is only supposed to cost him $1 and since they are not planning to give him a sticker I told him to leave. They called the cops on him..... for $1!!!! He isn't being charge, they say they just want the $20 that we don't owe them.
Polite, affordable, honest and efficient. Was there when they opened for a vehicle inspection. Several other customers arrived for inspections at opening. We were all in and out in under 90 minutes.
The staff was very helpful to us in finding a different shop to repair our Ford F250 when the job exceeded their scheduling and staffing even down to recommending a tow service that took AAA. We later brought both vehicles in for oil changes and inspections. I think their pricing is very fair.
They're our Go-To tire, muffler, inspection, and brake shop. Long time family business. Prices are fair. Office staff are old friends and I actually do their computer work. They're organized and efficient. Call them for wrecker service too. They have a wide variety of wreckers and will help you any way they can.

Actually it's ZERO stars. Scheduled an appointment 8 days in advance, was told they would look at & fix my car. Drove 2 hours to be told leave the keys & may not get to it today, despite being told otherwise. Complete waste of a day!
If I could give 0 Stars I would. Unprofessional tow truck driver. Dropped my truck off at the wrong address I call to get him to fix the mistake and they tried to charge me 85 dollars to move the truck from one driveway to the next driveway over. It was our fault his gps was wrong. And hung up in our faces. Will never use them again
They are very professional yet friendly. I appreciated all of the information they gave me about my tires. Not like some others that just try to rip you off.
I take my car here whenever I need a tire or anything done to it. Probably been here a dozen times. Friendly, helpful, honest people and reasonable prices. Thankful for them.
Great service! The gentleman that changed my tires was quick and very thorough. He made sure to change my valve stems considering I thought nothing of it. Will be bringing them all my vehicles from now on.
I set up an appointment to have all new exhaust put on my car from the catalytic converters back, all new mufflers, exhaust tips, and x-pipe. Took it to the shop and talked to the guy who was going to do the exhaust work so he would know how I wanted it all to go. After i leave i get a call saying that they cant do the exhaust how we had discussed and I would need to keep the factory tailpipes with the rest of the exhaust being brand new. I told them if we couldn't do the exhaust all the way we had discussed to pull it out of the shop and not touch it and I would come pick my car up that evening. I pick my car up that evening to find I now have an exhaust leak right under my drivers door that wasn't there when I dropped it off. After this experience I will never be contacting Baughan tire & automotive to do any work on any of my vehicles again.
They told me they could fix my car and two days later it’s still not fixed and I have a three hundred dollar bill. My car now has a check engine light which it didn’t before. They charge just to talk with them on the phone. I might expect that from professional mechanics but they are far from that. No mechanic on this planet charges for a phone call. Please search for another mechanic before decide on them. You’ll regret if you do.
I gave them my 2002 Chevy Tahoe to replace two spark plugs and a fuel filter. I was quoted $125 for a full tuneup and they charge me $167. $150 for labor. When I got my truck back the check engine light is now on and it runs twice as worse as what it did when I gave it to them. The mechanic told me there was nothing he could find wrong with my truck and that’s all he could do. I recommend never going to this company unless you want to end up with your car in worse condition and a outrageous bill. The manager himself told me I was charged $37 and 50 Cent for telling the mechanic what was wrong with my car over the phone.If you need a mechanic go to Blevins tire and auto in Lottsburg Virginia.
My small boat trailer broke an axle about a mile away from this garage.
Was towed to his garage for repair/ replacement. ( $ 75 tow fee )
Was given a verbal estimate of $ 250 and told I would get a call if higher cost.
A week later I was notified that it was ready to pick up.
The office lady said the bill was $ 750 !
The owner ( I guess ) said he couldn’t find a replacement axle and had to make one. That axle cost me more than I paid for both the boat and trailer combined! I got no phone call prior to going there with no explanation of why not. I live in King George, so be prepared to get screwed if you break down near Callio !!!
BTW- I checked on line to price a new axle- $ 169 dollars!!!
Baughan Tire has great service. Prices are very, very reasonable. And they are honest. Small-town America honest. Michael Baughan, the owner, is on the shop floor every day. He loves cars, and he loves what he does, and it shows. I’ve never visited a garage with nicer people. And they know cars. Boy, do they know cars. And they go above and beyond to make the customer, and your car happy.
Today was probably my third trip to Baughan. I'm in Burgess, so there are closer businesses. But Baughan is like returning to Mayberry. Everyone is smiling and friendly and shows they're glad you stopped by. I trust them completely with my car. KLC
My 06 Audi had a bad exhaust leak and was missing flex pipe and it was banging against crossbar. They took me in with no appt and fixed it within a couple hours. Overall great customer service!!! I would recommend their business to anyone.
I dropped my car off the week of the 4th of July. They were closed, so I left it there. I called the following Monday and I told the lady I would drop the keys by that day or Tuesday. She said I could if I wasn’t in a hurry to get it back, because they were backed up. Went down Tuesday to drop the keys and was told in a nasty way to take my car to Citgo and he named off a couple of different places. These people worked on my car last summer and again in May of this year. I do not want a lot of different places working on my car. They were very rude. If you are back up and can’t handle the pressure, why are you in business. Very rude people, will never do business with them again.🤬👎🏼
This is the best tire/mechanic shop I have ever been to. They are veey fast. They have very reasonable prices and the do very good work. This is the shop I will be going to for every thing I will ever need done to any vehicle.
