Paul is a wizard. He can tell what’s wrong by just listening to the engine run!++++ He’s honest as the day is long. You can’t beat a combination like that……That’s why he’s so Damn busy all the time!
We have been coming here for routine service of both our jeep and truck. The owner is very straight forward and doesn't try to sell you on anything that you don't need. He has been very reliable, trustworthy and reasonably priced. The customer service has always been exceptional as well. We look forward to continuing to have our vehicles maintained here! A very kind gentleman filled my tires up with air in the rain. My service light was on, and i couldn't determine which tire it was. He was very nice and didn't charge me a thing. I appreciate the service at this location. I was really nervous to drive under those conditions. He told me it was fine. I had to leave a review. This was my first time ever at this location. I had no appointment. He came out in bad weather to help. Thank you ❤️ ? ?. He turned me into a loyal customer!!!
Paul was super busy but took the time out of his busy day to change some tires for me knowing I had to go to see a doctor, he’s one of a kind and truly cares about his customers !!!!
We had car problems on the bridge tunnel and the mechanic took a look at our car for free and gave us some advice. Really great service and very kind and helpful.
Stopped by there for a quick check on the tires as the there was a low pressure tire warning. Pulled in and quickly checked we were on our way. Great service and no charge!! Thank you!! ??

Great experience from Cheritan Auto!!!! We were out of staters who broke down on the bridge and just randomly chose this place to tow our car to. He got our car up and running the next business day and was not overpriced !!!! Saved us a ton of time and money!!!! Would recommend this place to anyone.
I had work done here twice on my '07 Outback - both front & rear end replacing bearings & more. The mechanical work was great, and priced exactly as quoted. Scheduling was also great, very accommodating, including my second time there when I had limited time before moving out of town. No hesitation to recommend. Great, great service. A good garage is hard to come by.
Amazing experience! Excellent customer service and turnaround time! He really saved us from having to have the car towed home or securing a rental car for a long period of time. He completed the work the same day with zero notice!
He claimed to be booked until The end of September but I arrived to the shop before he opened and he was late I waited a lil before I went in to ask if he did vehicle inspections and was told that he was booked. I went backed to truck and waited up the street for 30 mins and nobody came there to get anything done. Bad business practices.
Visiting Cape Charles from PA and sprung a leak in a tire. It was a small pinhole in the center of the tread. The owner took the car in, had us back on the road in 15 minutes, and charged very reasonably. 10/10 would recommend. He has our thanks!
My wife and I were visiting Cape Charles from our home in CT when I noticed hydraulic fluid under my car. Thinking it could be a safety problem, I called Cheriton Automotive and they told me to bring it right in for a diagnosis. Paul quickly determined it to be a suspension leak that could wait until we got home. Very fast, fair and friendly service!
I live in DC and I had brought my car into a mechanic there (my former regular/trusted mechanic) to fix an odd clanking sound. They charged me $60, told me the problem was more complicated and couldn’t fix it right then, and also quoted me $2300 for “immediately necessary repairs”. I was concerned about safety and nervous about the price, and brought it here to Cheriton Auto on a whim for a second opinion when I happened to be in town.
Paul is amazing. He made me feel heard on the phone, and made it a priority to see me not 24 hours later. He fixed my clanking issue immediately, and then walked me through (with photos he took of) evidence that the other guys were actually trying to take advantage of me. He told me that for him to do that exact work, it would be ~$600, but that he wouldn’t let me pay for that work because my car didn’t need it at all. He also refused when I tried to tip him for all of his help. I would trust him with my car endlessly for his honesty and genuine care for a stranger. Go here.
We we're vacationing out of town in Exmore when my Grandmother's brakes basically gave out. These guys got the car back very quickly and at a great price. So much so my Grandmother had them do all of the brakes and rotors. Friendly, honest, quick and quality service.
Very friendly and skilled service. Everyone there was super friendly, and willing to help out a traveler with a problem. My problem was an uncommon one but they were willing to give it a shot, and did a great job for a lot less than expected. Thanks guys!
Short version: These guys are honest, friendly, and do great work. Highly recommended.
Long version: While camping at Cherrystone, our car starting making an unusual noise. Even though they were very busy and working through lunch, they told me to stop by to see if it was something major or something that could wait until we got back home from vacation (200 mile drive). I should note that I called one other place prior to them and they too were extremely busy and couldn’t get me in for a week.
After a pretty quick and easy diagnosis, the problem appeared to be an alternator on its last leg. They were able to order a replacement and get it installed the next day. I probably could have made it back home but didn’t want to take the risk, especially since it was during the big heat wave. After talking with the owner, it was a no brainer to get them to do the job before we headed back home. I got a good impression of the place when I arrived and the owner was very friendly over the phone. We only had a couple days left at the campground and they were able to fit me in, which I’m grateful for.
Since we were at the campground, they also offered to help with picking me up and dropping me off if needed. Turned out that the shuttle bus at Cherrystone had no problem taking me there. The shop did come to pick me up when the car was ready. That’s great customer service.
I wish these guys were closer to where I live. They’d be my trusted mechanics. I’ve never felt better about another shop.

While visiting Cherrystone Campground My service light came on on my 2016 Honda CRV I called an immediately was able to get it taken care of, especially having a specific oil type it was not an issue highly recommend greatly appreciate it! friendly fast service
