I had to have shocks installed front and back, and my caddy rides smooth, the repair technician seems to be a man of integrity with strong priciple ethics, and the receptionist Ms.Kelly is AmAzInG !!! very generous, knowledgeable, and kind. My wife had her oil changed but they didn’t reattach the skid plate correctly and it came loose and started dragging. My wife stopped and called them but because she has an accent, was flustered, and couldn’t explain to them what happened. So if you don’t speak perfect English and don’t know all the parts of your car, forget bringing it here. Although they had to remove this skid plate to change the oil, according to them the did the oil change correctly. I thought putting everything back in place was part of the oil change. Per the owner it was “just a mistake” and would only offer a 50% discount on the next oil change. Therefore they do NOT stand behind their work.
Our car had problems on the highway and we were blessed to find this auto repair shop at the exit we took. We’re from out of town and were on our way back home when our car had dangerous engine and spark plug problems. On a holiday, these kind people were able to fix our car within just over two hours. They looked at it right away and ordered the parts immediately (which were delivered in record time). The front desk lady was kind and understanding of us being out of town and in need of return. She was also very transparent about the prices. The mechanic was skilled and got straight to work. We’re lucky that this auto repair shop turned our inconvenient car troubles into a calm and efficient experience. Shoutout to them they were sent by angels.
First time at this shop. Pass by all the time very professional staff and so far they do great quality work. And price are great. Feels like I have a new car repair shop. The lady at the front desk whose name I forgot was such a great help and she also seems knowledgeable and fair. Thanks so much guys.

I'm glad to see that their business is booming, though it meant my repair would be delayed by a day or so, becuse this shop provides fair pricing and great service. They found a lesser problem during the repair process and fixed it with no additional labor costs that was deeply appreciated.
I expect to have W&J perform maintenance and repairs on all my vehicles.
We were traveling from VB to Williamsburg after being called in to see our dying sister. We started smelling something like a burning smell, and got off at the next exit and saw W & J. We explained or situation and asked if possibly someone could check under the hood and get us on our way. The people from the receptionist to Lawrence the mechanic, were so helpful. They checked us out and got us on the road again and wouldn’t even accept a payment. I felt like we were in Mayberry! We don’t often run into people like this anymore. These are great and honest folks. I hope they continue to be successful as they serve travelers and locals alike.
I noticed I had a nail in my tire when I was across the street at the 711. It was rainy , so late minute I crossed the street and went to W&J and asked if they could plug tire and with no hassle said pull up to the garage door and someone will be out to help. My car was sitting in W&J’s lot waiting to be repaired for 13 days (9 business days) and was not fixed. When I originally called, the lady said it would be fixed “early next week” early next week comes and she says “they have not started.” I asked for more clarification such as when are they expected to start and she says there are other cars in front of me and proceeds to say again “early next week.” Early next week comes and my car is STILL in the lot. I am confused on how there are so many cars ahead of me and I feel like it was an excuse. There is no true transparency with estimated wait times. Additionally, if they have a BACKLOG of cars to service, do NOT accept new customers and not give actual updates. Because you do not have the capacity to service cars in a timely manner. I get having to wait a few days into the next week…but nearly two weeks without my car, having to spend nearly $1k for a rental while I drive pass my car just sitting there everyday is PITIFUL. The least they could do was wave the diagnostic. I got the car towed to another service spot I TRUST and wish I took there first. My tow driver even admitted this place was not a good place and he has cars that he towed here still in the lot as well. Who knows how long mine would have taken. Hindsight 20/20. Wanted to support a black owned business, but this was not okay at all.
loved it here! got towed here & the lovely lady at the front was super kind and accommodating for me. she helped me with so much, and gave me great options. i was able to get two brand new tires for a great price. clean and beautiful decor inside too. loved loved loved my experience!

I highly recommend this shop! Our ck engine light came on while traveling. We immediately took the first exit off the highway, noticed W&J Auto Repair, pulled in and hoped for the best. We were greeted by a young lady at the front desk who was incredibly kind, reassured us that our vehicle was in good hands and went above and beyond to make us as comforable as possible while we waited.They quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired it the same day and in a timely manner! 10/10
W&J Auto Repair LLC located at 13903 Jefferson Ave, Newport News VA 23603 is the worst repair shop I have encountered, and would not recommend anyone go to this facility. The owner and employee were rude and unprofessional. I was bullied by an employee over several phone conversations. I was taunted, yelled at, and hung up on by an employee. The owner was on the line and said nothing. I have never been treated so poorly by a business in my life. They were hostile and aggressive toward me and told me several lies about the progress of my vehicle. I was told by the owner they were refusing service on my car because I was rushing them to fix my vehicle ( the vehicle was there for five days and three were business days). They told me "to get my vehicle out of there" by the end of the business day. This facility was unskilled, unprofessional, hostile, and aggressive toward me and showed no care for my car or the customer. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.
I came off interstate 64W heading towards Richmond as my dashboard indicator light came on. Showing me that my tire pressure was low. I pulled into W&J with whom immediately helped me out. In fact, I needed air pressure in all 4 tires. They were respectful, caring, efficient, loyal and I couldn't have asked for better service. I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs car service.
W&J is my go to place for all my vehicle needs. Great reliable friendly service and staff. Wayne and his crew will get you back on the road in a timely manner. This is by far the best repair shop on the peninsula. I will continue to take all of my vehicles there long as there in business !!
I am so thankful to W&J Auto Repair. I needed to replace my car engine. I called 4 places. Two never called me back. One was rude, told me they couldn't tell me when they could get to my vehicle. I could bring it to them and just wait and they would get to it when they could get to it. W&J was the fourth call. I spoke with Kellie, she was so helpful and patient. She answered all of my many questions. My engine work was completed faster than I expected. I was even called a couple of days after I picked up the vehicle, to make sure everything was ok and that I was satisfied with the work. Don't sleep on this place as they did an amazing job. My 2014 now drives like a 2022.

I pulled a 7,000lb trailer several hundred miles with my 2012 Chevrolet Silverado and the transmission ran 195° most of the way as the outside temperature was 99°. W&J Auto repair was able to get my truck in and change my transmission fluid for me quickly and answer a couple questions I had when they were finished. I used W & J Auto Repair for the first time for ignition coils, valve gasket, and spark plugs. The service manager, Kelly, was great at answering my questions and keeping me updated. The owner Wayne and technician Lawerence worked hard to get my car finished in a timely manner and it was reasonably priced. I highly recommend this auto repair shop and I will be using them again! SO happy I found this family owned shop.
I Used this shop for several of my personal vehicles. Never had any issues. Very quick turn around with high-quality work. Front desk called me and kept me updated regularly.
Asked for services and was told it was free. When I completed the paperwork, I wrote in “call before doing ANY paid services”. When I received a call, the labor prices were dealer level prices and the parts prices were gauged more than most reputable service stations. I told them that the prices were too high and that I would be picking the car up. At that point, the alleged “free diagnosis” became $108.30. The Service manager was rude. She tried to over talk us on the phone. She said that she was sure Wayne told us there would be a cost if we didn’t allow them to repair our car. There were two of us on the phone. We both heard Wayne correctly. I took my car to them because Wayne Hill told us that the diagnosis was free and because he stated that he could get the repairs done in a timely matter—earlier than a couple other places we checked into. We paid the “NEVER TO RETURN INVESTMENT”, picked up our car and took it to the highly rated, more reasonably priced Mechcanic that we should have gone to in the first place.
I've known the owner and his family for well over 20 years. Other than myself and my late step-dad, this company I trust front to back when doing repairs for my vehicles. I've had 6 vehicles in 29 years, and Wayne has worked on them all with perfection!!
I can't say enough about this place! I had a hard time finding a honest and reliable auto repair shop in my area until I found W&J Auto Repair! They were able to get me in for an oil change the same day. Wayne and Jamar both worked hard to get me in and out just like they promised! Excellent customer service! I highly recommend!
I've had a hard time finding an auto repair shop that I can trust. With W&J, I know they won't try to take advantage of me. They will diagnose the problem and repair it all for a reasonable rate. When my tire popped and almost came off my car, they were able to fix it and have me back on the road within 30 minutes. Great service and great price!
The employees at this shop are exceptional. The mechanic does great work, the front desk employees are nice and they treat you like family. I have never had a single problem after having work done there.
I would give less than 1 star. Bought tires and asked them to simply put them on for me. The very next day the tire came off my rim on the INTERSTATE! Had it looked at by another mechanic, absolutely nothing wrong with the tire other than it was put on incorrectly. These people do NOT CARE about their work nor do they know how to perform services correctly. Do not waste your money.
It was time to find a local garage to continue the care of our Volvo now that it's aged out of the dealer maintenance program and we're ever so grateful that we found W&J Auto Repair! They are professional, honest about what services are currently needed vs. not, and charge very reasonably for the work. Several weeks after our initial service they were incredibly helpful in providing a quick diagnostic of an issue the car was experiencing that didn't require garage work. Will certainly be returning for all future auto needs!
