Paul was incredibly helpful when I called about an unauthorized vehicle parked in my private space. He took the time to explain the towing policy clearly and reassured me by saying he would report the issue to my HOA. They were literal life savers for my family. We blew out a tire on the interstate and were stranded on the side of the road with 4 children in car seats. We were very concerned for our safety. Towing not only arrived so quickly, but put us at such ease, and helped us find a solution for everyone to get off the highway safely. Truly exceptional.
Unacceptable. The way this company speaks to people (that arent beneficial to there needs) inhumane. People have lives as well and the fact that you guys are fast to disregard is sickening to me. Just be kind to people you never know what's someone is going through outside your company. Empathy can go a long way
I've had my fair share of bad service and I'm not one to complain but this company was just outright revolting. After the call was ended (abruptly 4 times) I felt Disrespected, Confused, And Devastated. I've never heard someone just yell shut up from the receptionist side of the phone but I can scratch that off the bucket list now. The communication between ANYONE and EVERYONE thy work with is the worst I've seen in a company ever. And last but not least ACCOUNTABILITY this company can ever accept the fact that whatever rule system they have emplaced is outdated. I don't leave this review to be negative I leave it for the truth to be heard this company needs new leadership ASAP
I'll be honest and non bias on my opinion here. Is this seriously how you want to help people? Phone service was terrible I got hung up on because the caller got upset? Extremely unprofessional however, I will say the driver on scene was very respectful he understood my situation his explanation was that Pop charges $40 daily for storage. When I called the store (again) the lady got even more rude with me telling me that I can't keep calling. Etc
Extremely rude and unprofessional. The gentleman answering after operational hours hung up on me and blocked my calls all because I needed to get my vehicle to make sure I get to work on time. You're in the wrong business if you don't even have the time to answer questions for those whom.cars you've towed. Furthermore, my medicines were in my vehicle. You shouldn't treat anyone so disrespectful. Veteran's deserve better, all people do.
Kelly, Rob and especially Ryan are awesome! Don't believe the reviews. My dad waited 5 hours for a towing company and I called Pop's and they were super fast and great price. Ryan was extremely nice/sweet.. And Kelly was also extremely nice/sweet. Highly recommend!
I have used their services twice and each time they have been very helpful. The last time I used their service was to move 2 vehicles to storage. After calling around to several towing companies for two days with no results, I called Pop's Towing. They listened to everything I had to say about both vehicles and said they think they can help. When they arrived they checked both vehicles and mentioned that they have the equipments to help move them. They were wonderful and the vehicles are in storage with their help. I remembered them when I thought about the towing company who help move my vehicle when it broke down in the middle of streets. The towing company that my insurance called was not available until after 5 p.m., it was then 12 p.m. The police suggested using one of the companies they use. The one that arrived was Pop's. They were very helpful and friendly then. I now have them as my go to towing company. Thanks you guys for a job well done.
Great service! Knew exactly where to go and the best route to the auto shop that I requested and knew where to best place it in the lot. Loaded up the car so fast, even the Ranger was impressed. Thank you again for the excellent experience on a crummy day.
Terrible customer service . Doesn’t take responsibility for putting sticky notes on people’s cars for no reason. Unprofessional and annoying .
Edit: They aren’t the ones literally driving around apartment neighborhoods “putting sticky notes” on people’s cars. It’s the Security of the properties that do this …. And they allow it. They allow the security of these properties to put these big bright a** sticky notes on VISITORS cars then act all shocked when people call them upset cause they have to scrape this sticky a** , big a**, bright a** sticky note off their car.
Called for an estimate to tow my project car 8 miles for a upcoming move. Couldn't get a quote even after being asked multiple irrelevant questions, and Finally was dismissed because the operator was more concerned with her towers being near the shipyard parking lots to ruin hard working peoples days. Lol call somewhere else
Very responsive - timely! The dispatcher provided a service window during a major storm (freeze) and delivered with excellent service. I've used Pops Towing several times - great service is the standard.
Worst service I've encountered with a towing company. Was directed by police to call another tow company because the vehicle in a private lot was illegally parked and Pete's (contracted company) was unable to tow. The owner of the lot and the contracted tow company recommended this company. The guy who answered got a bad attitude with me and told me the police would never tell me what they told me. Ignorance, laziness amd not knowing all there is to know about his line of work is no excuse. I would not recommend this company to anybody but would consider other alternatives.
They don’t come out James River Flats when you call about visitors parked in resident parking. They will claim they did but the same cars will be out there in the morning. I’m tired of coming home and I can’t park in front of my building because visitors are in the wrong spot. They keep doing it because the tow company never comes, we received a letter that they would be enforcing the rules out here and when you call they either BS or don’t answer at all.
Update: 11/19/19
Nothing has changed. Called them at 2pm about visitor being in resident parking. Same car is still in resident parking at almost 6pm. Call them and I’m told they didn’t get it because the shift changed. The dispatcher calls me around 7pm ask is the car still there & I said yes. Told them the color, where it’s located and license plate because I didn’t know the make. He says they should be sending someone out here. Here we are at almost 11p and the car is still out here and a tow truck hasn’t been out here. It shouldn’t take that long from 2p. Clearly our property is not a priority when we call. I don’t expect them to be out here in 5 mins flat but this wait time is ridiculous and they probably won’t even show. Thought I would be changing my review but Im getting the same results. It’s honestly no point in calling them & the complex should find someone else.

Same car is out here and taking up a residents park. All this tow company does is lie. And ms. Thing on the phone, when I asked why is this car still out here from Tuesday, she wants to keep hollering she talked to management. Whatever the hell that means. I’ve called them for 4 days and they still haven’t came out here. Wish this damn complex get an actually tow company that comes and do what they’re getting paid for.
My car got caught in a flood while I was driving home in the middle of the night. The workers from pops towing were quick to respond and very kind. I live out of state and they were nothing but helpful during the whole process of dealing with my insurance company. Anyone can run a business but it takes special people to care about an absolute stranger. 10/10 would recommend their services.
So me being an idiot, I parked illegally on a Sunday smh The city had me towed and Pop's is the one who had my car. The guy that answered the phone was AMAZING!! It was late afternoon and he told me they were closed. Panicking I explained to him I was from out of the area and really needed my car asap. He told me if I could be there within the next few minutes he'd wait. I ordered an uber and looked how far I was, 20 min away, I called him back and told him it would take me 20 min and he said that was fine. He also stated it was cash only so not knowing the area he even told me where near the shop had an ATM. Got there and he was just as nice in person as he was on the phone. I wish I would of got his name. Thank you Pop's for helping me out when you could of clearly turned me away.
David was a huge help to me and my boyfriend! Very friendly and affordable. He came and towed his Subaru out of an old friends garage, he kept good conversation and we found out he’s been in the business for 40 years! What a professional! I recommend Pops for sure!
David did a great job with my with my car that i needed towed to a friends house. I called he came within 30 minutes. Loaded it up and off he went when he got to his destination he texted me so that i knew it made it to my friends house. David was extremely courteous and professional. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for such great service!
Very professional. The call was easy and the staff professional. David is the best driver I’ve ever encounter. He picked up my vechicle, sent pictures and was able to move my vechicle right into the place I wanted parked. If you need anything towed this is the towing company to trust.
David did such a great job with my bike a few months ago, my husband and I called for a tow when his car broke down. The person who answered the phone was great and David was able to get to us within 30 minutes. Just as before, David was extremely couteous and professional. I would recommend them to anyone. They should remove the one star and put a turd to better express what these people are about. They left my vehicle in a lot and was driving out of the lot as we were pulling in. We were told they would be there in 45 minutes by insurance company. They arrived early and when we say we would be there in 13 minutes the driver was nasty. Dispatch was helpful but the driver was disrespectful. We arrived 10 minutes later and the driver was driving off. I called and said you just passed me and he lied and said he had been waiting 15 minutes. Note to idiot . All of my calls are recorded and it also tells what time the call started and ended as well as every word said. Don't use these people for anything. We reported them to the insurance company and they contacted the owner as well as put them on the do not use list. I save conversations and if they want to dispute anything I say feel free. Ready to put you on blast.
I gave 4 stars because it took 2 hours for them to come but the first lady I spoke to was nice and professional. She told me an hour so I called back an hour later and another guy gave me another time. He was professional and said it was a shift change. The driver showed...he was nice and professional. Showed him my documents and he towed the car that was in my spot. If it hadnt taken so long then I would have gave 5 stars but they all were friendly and professional
Called at 9am on 11/12/2016. Gentleman on the line was very polite, took all information and told me the price; both cash and credit. 10:15am the driver arrived. Super polite young man; "Alex"; Active Duty Military; got busy and in 10 min had my truck to the dealer. Thanks' very much to Pop's Towing and recovery! For excellent service and for seeing how our military guys are so very important! God Bless!!!

Great company. The receptionist was mannerable and took all my information. Gave me a price quote and let me know the driver would call me. The driver called within 5 mins after speaking with her. He was very friendly and polite. He told me where he was and how long until his arrival. When he arrived he even tried a couple simple things that could have got my car back working again. It didn't help but he wasn't obligated to do so and I appreciated him even offering the suggestions. Great people and very quality service. Would definitely recommend as I too have dealt with companies that acted as if they were doing me a favor. Class act these folks will definitely use their services again and recommend them to friends.
If I could give this company no stars I would. We waited two hours for a tow. When we called to check on the status, we were told our call got lost during shift change. Not only is that a waste of time and irresponsible, but the company seemed to have no concern that we had been waiting and essentially no showed. Being pregnant and sitting in the heat for two hours is no joke. Would not recommend this company to anyone and wish we would have called someone else from the beginning.
I couldn't of been happier with the service pops towing provided for me! There customer service was outstanding from the start when I called them, their dispatcher was clear and to the point providing me with all the information I needed. Once the driver arrived he was extremely professional and handled my car with care! These guys have the know how and the nicest equipment to make sure you are taken care of! I highly recommend pops to anyone in need!
Oh my goodness, pops saved us! We were stuck on the side of the road tonight for a hour or two before giving up and calling a tow company. They didn't "stick it to us" like other companies would have... very nice people. 20 minutes after calling they were there, talk about awesome! Our drivers name was alex and he gave us a courtesy call earlier that he was already on his way... very professional on how he worked the lift on the truck... Alex was WONDERFUL. Very sweet, and knew what he was doing. We're finally home, and it's all thanks to pops! Will be doing buisness here again. :)
