I’m active-duty Navy and borrowed a friend’s car for the weekend, parking in front of my apartment complex. I had no idea the spot was reserved, and the next morning, the car was gone. After hours of searching, I found out Diamond Towing had taken it.
The fee was $260, and since I’m not getting paid right now due to the government shutdown, I explained my situation and asked for help or even a small discount. The staff was completely unsympathetic, rude, and showed zero respect or compassion for someone serving in the military.
Diamond Towing operates without basic decency or understanding. They may follow policy, but they clearly lack integrity and humanity. I would strongly advise avoiding this company

The next morning, the car was gone, and after some time, he discovered it had been towed by Diamond Towing.
When he went to retrieve the car, he explained that he is active military and currently not receiving pay due to the government shutdown. The total was $260, which he could not afford at the time. He respectfully asked if there was any possibility of assistance or a discount given the circumstances, but the staff showed no compassion or willingness to help.
While I understand that businesses need to operate within their policies, a little empathy and understanding—especially toward those serving our country—would go a long way. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Diamond Towing, as they demonstrated a lack of compassion and support for our military members.
Long story short: diamond towing was great with me and my daughters, they were very kind and went above and beyond to help us out when they really didn't need to. Everyone was very kind, understanding, and helpful. First business I've been to in years for my car where they treated me as a real person and not just a customer, or transaction, or a chance to make a profit. Will leave a detailed review below.
Last week I was driving back to Norfolk, VA from MD with my two 2 year old daughters and our dog. When we were about 20 mins away from home, at around 3:15 am, we got a flat tire. Thankfully this happened right before the last exit to get on the HRBT on 64 East, so we pulled off to the shoulder.
After calling many places that just lead to their voicemail, I was finally able to get someone at diamond towing. They made it to me and my daughters within the hour.
I cant remember any names now as its been a week, but the gentleman that picked us up was more than helpful. He helped me carry my daughters car seats into his pick up truck so that I could carry the girls over, and he was very patient and kind with us.
On the way to the tow lot (around 5am at this point) the truck driver mentioned that they could get me a tire, but that the man who does the tire changes and repairs would be out the next few days, so initially my plan was to leave my car on the lot until then and just uber home with my kids and dog.
Once we got to the lot, the truck driver took the car seats out of his truck for me without me even asking for help because he saw I was getting overwhelmed with my twins trying to make a break for it the second they got out the truck.
Coincidentally someone was on the lot that was able to change my tire, and he told me he would see f they had one that fit my car. This alone saved me the hassle of having to get an uber, loading my twins and dog into it, plus as much as I could bring from my car, since we were traveling with 2 months worth of stuff, and then figuring out how to get a new tire, as I have no friends or family in the area who can help me with things like this.
At some point they even offered to watch my girls so I could run inside and use the bathroom, and asked if they could get the kids anything.
Once was all said and done and the tire was replaced, they didn't even charge me for it. Just told me to make it home safe with my kids. We finally got back home at 9am, when we were supposed to be home at 3:20am. The tire they put on my car is still holding up great, and with my husband being deployed and me having no help, all these small acts of kindness from the entire crew all night meant a lot to me, even though I know it didn't seem like much. Will 100% be calling Diamond Towing if I'm ever in a pinch again. Cant thank these guys enough!
I had lee arvy tow me today and he was amazing. Very helpful with everything and very careful with my car. I could not have had a better experience on such a horrible day
They did a great job towing an international for us... Truck had locked up brakes and was in a bad spot and was able to get us loaded up and delivered to it's destination promptly. Will be recommending them and using them again for any heavy duty towing needs!
Really nice person came and towed our car on a Saturday late afternoon. We were from out of town for a college graduation and we were grateful that we were helped so quickly. Thank you for your help.
Patrick is a consummate professional. Handled my car collection like eggs. He took the extra time to assure a damage free experience and to a car collector that is more precious than gold.
Thanks to Patrick, Diamond Towing will always be at the top of my list when I need to have important vehicles safely and carefully moved or transported in the tidewater region.
I'd be remis if I failed to Thank the Kind and Compassionate Driver who showed up to tow my totaled vehicle while I was shaken to my core. I truthfully don't recall his name, and feel horrible about that, but I was hit and disoriented at the time waiting for my fiancee to arrive. I realize he was doing his job, but he made a point to check on me, asking if I was ok, did I need anything, could he help me... Just on the concern alone I must say, this company is worth using especially if they have employees who take the time to be empathetic and caring in the world today. What a Phenomenal employee you have on your team and whoever chose to hire that amazing person must be a pretty terrific person as well. God Bless
