If I could give this place negative stars, I would! I’ve never been to a place with such hateful, lazy, and incompetent employees in my entire life! I’ve never written a review until now because of this store. I had the unfortunate experience with an older clerk, who was so rude and hateful. She yelled, harassed me, and wasted my time. She told me that she wouldn’t replace my battery because of corrosion, and that the next employee who arrives in an hour can since she didn’t want the responsibility of replacing the battery. I purchase the battery (i have no choice since I’m stranded) and about 20 mins she tells me that the other employee that would come in can’t as well. I go back into the store to purchase a wire brush, and the older lady is gossiping about me to another employee!!! No mannerism at all. Save your time and go to another auto shop.

I am very very unsatisfied and unsatisfied doesn’t even come close to how this place is. Blond haired woman named Mellisa should not be working there at all. Extremely rude to customers multiple times since I was getting a battery put into my truck! Mellisa acted like it was so bad because I asked something about a product. If I could would give -5 stars and that’s an understatement.

While the knowledge of the staff can be hit or miss at times, my overall experience at Advance Auto Parts for DIYers has been quite good. They do the simple stuff well: oil, oil filters, batteries (diagnostics and charging), and more at a reasonable price. We need stores like this to continue serving the local community.

Since the 2 women started working at the blacksburg store it has sucked. Can't never get the part or its been ordered and dosent come in. They are both rude as hell and I think oreillys in christiansburg is worth the trip or autozone even. Blacksburg store sucks now. It happens way to often to different people. They also give the wrong parts and if you dispute it they dont want to hear it. And they tend to send you off on a wild goose chase for your part

Don't waste your time going to this store. The staff does not seem to want to help. Needed a new battery and was told we do not do that. When I left the store they were replacing one for some else in the parking lot.

Always helpful, though sometimes they get busy so you may need to wait. The store is nicely stocked and the staff is professional and knowledgeable.

I and my family were there trying to find some car wash stuff. One gentlemen with a advance hat asked if we needed help and he gladly found what we was looking for while the other guy I believe named Jay did not seem to care to even help us while we was struggling to find what we needed. I wish I knew who the gentleman who helped us name was, he was very helpful.

The young, newly hired girl with dark hair needs to check her attitude. She is incredibly dismissive of any problem you have. All the other staff are good but this girl will ruin this location's reputation.

The best rewards program going. I've saved 1000s over the years just by joining for free. Ordering online is easy and parts they don't stock usually arrive the same day or next day. Now they have the Die Hard batteries too.

I was assisted with checking my car battery and asked for a second opinion about my car making sounds. The guy who helped me check the battery explained that it was most likely due to low oil. I appreciated the service I was given by the employees this afternoon.

Said it would take too long & was too difficult to replace my battery in my 2012 Ford. First the guy said it would be 45 minutes, then proceeded to watch a video and say it would take an hour. Said I could either go to a private mechanic, or ask a friend. Don’t have really any mechanical experience, but on YouTube and replaced it in 15 minutes. Sucks when they offer a free service but just since your car is a little different than others you get refused.

Short staffed at lunchtime but worth the wait. The first associate scanned my vehicle and told me I needed a catalytic converter. The second associate told me it was just a bad plug or wire. I hope that is the problem.

Clean store, but I felt disrespected and taken advantage of by one of the employees. I came in to purchase a new part for my car, and was told to purchase the most expensive part when it wasn’t needed. There was also tension between this particular employee and one of their colleagues.
I returned that part later after getting outside counsel, and was doubted by the same employee when I said that I returned it new.

Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. My wife had an issue with the starter on a generator, and the staff worked on it for free for 20 minutes. I’ve never had anything but good service there!

Absolutely amazing help last minute on a Sunday, when I was hours from home, I needed a part for my jeep and they confirmed they had it in stock before telling me they had it. Very understanding of my situation and accommodating. Highly recommended.

My battery died. Jacob was on duty. He was professional, knowledgeable, able to multitask, and exhibited a fine sense of humor. In and out in less than 30 minutes. I knew the battery needed replacing based on age and experience. However, I found it disappointing that the store is without a workable battery tester!
JUST HAD THE SECOND BATTERY DIE OF OLD AGE --- WITHIN TWO MONTHS FOR DIFFERENT CARS. THIS TIME PARKER TESTED THE BATTERY AND IT WAS PRONOUNCED "DEAD ON ARRIVAL." PARKER MEASURED UP TO JACOB AND QUICKLY SOLD AND INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY. I FOUND PARKER TO BE ON THE TOP OF HIS TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS. I called prior to going in to ask if they run diagnostics. They said yes for free and i can just come in whenever, so that’s lovely! I drive there and walk in and tell them what i need, and they say that machine has been broken for months. Things happen, i get it, but I had called less than an hour before I got there and they just didn’t tell me that they actually couldn’t do that for me because it’s broken. They weren’t the most kind either, they acted frustrated that I was asking. Just would’ve appreciated a little kindness

Could not do a battery test as their system was not working...ok that happens.
Asked them to replace a battery in a Ford. They had the battery in stock but it was too difficult for them to install???
What the...isn't this literally one of their main functions?

I had good luck this go around for a very old pickup truck.,
the question is always one of getting common parts a lot are remanufactured or in my case more and more often I find some random old new stock inventory bought at auction or swap meet.
This time I was in luck they still remanufacture the alternator and this day would be even better they had it on the shelf !! No way right??
I thought surely it's not the exact one I need...but yes it was...
Happy to say this trip to advance Auto parts was a total success.

I purchased a optima battery here on August 2021. Unfortunately, this battery went out on April this year. At that time, a young staff test it bad in the car but test good out of the car. So he just clean the connectors and put it back. I don’t know why, but the system showings a replacement done. I go to the store today because I have the same battery issue. Rob, the current manager help me to exchange the battery without charging anything else. I do appreciate his help and speak highly off of his kindness. It’s not his fault to put a wrong record in the system, but he did solve my issue.

Offered help as soon as I arrived and helped me find the parts I needed. Also, when I came to the register they noticed that with my purchase, if I bought an upgraded filter, it would actually activate a discount that would ultimately save me money, and they went to go pick up the part for me. Great service and care towards the customer.

One of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. They were fairly busy when I arrived, but the employee who helped me was respectful and patient. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, and on that day I was having trouble articulating it. He knew what questions to ask, and made it easy for me. I was in and out with exactly what I needed in no time at all.

All the employees there are nice, fun to talk to, and welcoming. It's my go-to for local parts. Laura is awesome will get you taken care of! She once stayed on the phone with corporate trying to fix my online order for 10 minutes and got it done, even with better pricing. These people are great! Highly recommend if you need parts or car help.

They've got the parts I need. Plus they let you borrow tools and let you do repairs in the parking lot. Bonus: they've got a bathroom you can use!

The employees here are awesome. I had some serious problems with my battery, arrived in a panic, and Chris was great about it and tested everything for me. He also check a few other things to make sure it was safe to drive off that day. Everyone was really knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help.
