I took my Toyota 4Runner in to have the heat shield above my tailpipe re-secured because it was detached due to corrosion and rust. They fit me right in, were very professional and charged a very fair price. I was able to make the 4 hour trip home without loud rattling. They also did a free assessment do the vehicle and provided a detailed summary of recommended services.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Campus Automotive, especially Todd and James. They were seriously the best. My car had an issue and no one else was able to take it or figure it out, and I was really stressed because I needed to be able to drive home. Todd and James took my car in right away and had it fixed within a day. They were so kind and understanding throughout the whole process and made what could have been a really stressful situation so much easier. The service was honestly impeccable. You can tell they genuinely care about helping people, not just fixing cars. I’m incredibly grateful because I wouldn’t have been able to travel home if they hadn’t helped me out. If you’re in Blacksburg and need a mechanic, I 100% recommend Campus Automotive and especially Todd and James.

The person who assisted me was nice. He did what he could do to assist me and did eventually get my car moving long enough for me to get to a shop to find out what is actually wrong with my car, which turned out to be a lose bolt causing my car to randomly lose connection with the battery. For back story: I had just gotten two teeth pulled. At the moment I had a mouth full of gauze, I had stopped to get medication and something to eat before going home to enjoy my new space in my mouth. Then I got into my car and nothing. No dash. No nothing. The gentleman from Campus Automotive was amazing and stuck around until the car started. I drove straight to a car mechanic after but that is a different story and review. My car insurance company paid for the roadside service.

My very first time visiting Campus Automotive! I must say I was quite pleased with the whole experience. I took my car to campus automotive to get both rear tires replaced. I had an appointment on Wednesday Feb 18th @2:00pm well on my way there my tire went flat and it wouldn’t hold air so I had to get a tow into the shop (Thank God for AAA!!!!). Which made me about an hour late. And my tech James was very kind & patient about it and told me if I was able to get the car there in the next couple hours he could most likely finish it that same day…well it arrived at the shop about 3:15…and he called me around 4 and said “So your car was just dropped off…it just got here a few minutes ago”…(actually about 45-50 minutes ago) anyway he continued and said “it’ll be around 9-10 am when your vehicle is ready” I can’t say I was real happy about that…being that the car arrived within the couple hour window that he said…(this is really my ONLY COMPLAINT) and granted I’m not really even complaining it was just VERY INCONVENIENT…but surprisingly enough I made it through the night without my car . And he called the next morning to lmk it was ready and he went over the vehicle inspection report that they did on my car with me. He (they) seemed to be VERY thorough with everything!! Overall I am VERY HAPPY with everything about my experience. The customer service area waiting area & the bathroom were exceptionally clean Everyone i encountered was VERY friendly & knowledgeable. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend CAMPUS AUTOMOTIVE!! And James was VERY Kind and Helpful as well! I would also HIGHLY RECOMMEND asking for James when you visit CAMPUS AUTOMOTIVE!! As far as their prices…I’m NOT the one to really speak on that bc i really have NO IDEA what FAIR or GOOD PRICES are in the Automotive World but if i had to hazard a guess i would say that their prices seem pretty reasonable. But again i really couldn’t tell you for sure on that. So don’t think twice if you’re needing automotive work done…CALL or GO BY CAMPUS AUTOMOTIVE…I ASSURE YOU that You will NOT be DISAPPOINTED! . This was our first experience with Campus Automotive. My daughters car broke down near campus and first off the towing service was fast and the driver was very kind. Next the mechanics and customer service handled the diagnostics of the issue and handled all of our questions and concerns in the most professional and understanding manner. They definitely had some challenges in store for them as they were able to order the parts/tools with weather related delays and still finish within a timeframe that we requested. Big thanks to everyone there for fantastic communication be it text or phone calls, great service, understanding customer service and a job well done!

I'vebeen using these people for about 9 years now !!! They helped me and my husband keep our vechiles maintain, to towing / ! Today Carlos has helped me out very dangerous bad situation I was stuck on strep hill and extremely dangerous. Tab the call service was extremely kind helpful and kept me calm thru situation. They are honest, kind and reliable!!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Outstanding Service — True Life Savers! Carlos and Tab were absolute life savers. After struggling for hours in the snow while others simply watched and wouldn’t offer any help, they were the only ones who stepped in. They happened to ride past and immediately came through for us without hesitation. They were genuinely two of the sweetest, most hardworking people you could meet, and you can truly tell they love what they do and take pride in helping others. Their efficiency, professionalism, and kindness made their pricing more than worth it the service provided was exceptional. What amazed me even more was that their work was so impressive that other people nearby began surrounding them praising what they were doing and even wanting to help as well. Despite how busy things have been with the back to back snowstorms we’ve been experiencing in Blacksburg, VA (Virginia Tech area) they showed up with no complaints and handled everything flawlessly. This is hands down the best service I’ve ever experienced, and I genuinely hope anyone in need gets the chance to work with them. Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Tab and Carlos and let me just say, they are angels! My friend’s car was stuck due to the crazy amount of snow and ice we’ve endured the past few weeks. We were working on it for literally 2 hours and during those two hours, absolutely no one helped. Then, I saw Campus Automotive working on a call in the parking. When I talked to Tab and Carlos about my issue they were efficient, sweet, funny, and did above and beyond! I greatly appreciate them and their service! Campus Automotive Towing has been the best BUSINESS I’ve ever dealt with. Not just car related business but overall business. Missy from the towing department has been an angel. I’ve never had someone so kind, patient, and being over backwards to provide the most amazing customer service. She deserves all the stars and praise in the world!!!!!

I took my truck here for a smoke test, over the phone they told me it would be $80, when I went to pick it up they charged me over $200. They also told me the purge valve canister was the problem. I changed that part out and my check engine light is still on. I would recommend going to another shop.

This was the 3rd time we have brought our car to Campus Automotive. The first two visits were outstanding. I found the service to be fairly priced, the turn around time excellent, and the customer service was outstanding. The past visit left a bad taste in my mouth, and I am not sure if I will come back. My son brought the Kia in for what we thought was a rear break replacement. We found out that we needed additional repairs which is fine. My son and I reviewed the report and decided to move forward with the repairs. When my son brought the car in for the repairs we were told that the initial report that we had received did not include the labor for the most expensive part of the repair, the rear breaks. Even though we decided to move forward with the repairs, I felt that this was a bit of a bait and switch. I can understand if the labor was erroneously left out of the initial report. We all make mistakes. With this said, I would have expected that a solution would have been proposed that was a bit more fair to us. I am disappointed, and again not sure if I would return or suggest your business to someone else. Thank you, Cary Dresher

We recently moved to the area and were referred by friends to use Campus Automotive for services. Todd and the rest of the staff have taken great care of us and got us in as quickly as possible. We currently have one car so that helped a lot. We were having a charging problem which turned out to be the alternator. We had it replaced 3 months before our move. Todd went above and beyond to help us come up with a solution to get some of our money back from the original install. We will continue to use them for future services. Thanks again for all the help. Highly recommend using Campus for your service needs.

I was visiting my daughter in Blacksburg and her car had a problem with the tire monitoring system. I took it to Campus Automotive. They diagnosed the problem, but were overloaded with car repairs that day. When I explained my problem, they were remarkable in helping me. They worked me in and repaired the problem at a very reasonable price. I can't commend them enough for their professionalism and kindness. 5*!

Huge shout out to Anthony and the team! Realizing you have a flat tire 15 minutes before a college visit is not the way to start the day. We got priority scheduling and Anthony worked quickly with my mom while I toured with my daughter. He was fast, friendly and chatty to my mom. He even gave advice on getting a repair. And while this shop was too booked to help, they gave us a recommendation. On our way back to Kentucky and our trip was a success. (My daughter loved VT)

I was on a 3-day drive from Atlanta, to New Hampshire in late October. My first night's stop was at VA Tech and about 20 miles out, my car started making a VERY bad noise. A friend hooked me up with Campus Automotive. They took my car in the next morning, diagnosed a disintegrating wheel hub bearing assembly, ordered a new one, got it installed and had me on my way with only a 1-day delay on my trip. I CANNOT recommend these folks enough! Plus their detailed method of text communication was nothing I had experienced before. I'll be back at Tech on my way to Atlanta again in mid-December. Hopefully it will just be to say, "Hi & Thanks!" :)

Campus Automotive was amazing. I called them with an issue and dropped my car off that day. It was ready in less than 24 hours and the two men working were very helpful. I felt taken care of and would recommend to anyone!!!!

Very quick service! The liner on my truck popped off, and when I came in, James was able to snap it back on in less than 5 minutes — and at no charge. Great customer service!

Have been bringing my vehicles here for a few years now. Customer service is excellent, the prices are on par with other shops in the area, and I really appreciate that while they make recommendations, they are never pushy. I have recommended Campus Auto to friends and family and will continue to do so in the future.

I've taken my car to Campus Auto for everything it has needed since I moved to Blacksburg four years ago. They always do a great job. They are friendly, professional, and fast. They charge a fair price, affordable for me but high enough so that they can pay to keep their wonderful techs. I'm always skeptical of insanely low prices, because things that are too good to be true are usually not true. Campus Auto is both good and true.

TL;DR: Easy to make an appointment, harder to find the money to pay for services that you don't need. I made an appointment in about 5 minutes for this shop without a hitch. To get by breaks diagnosed it is a $100 fee. In addition to diagnosing breaks they looked at my entire car, which is not what I sent my car in to do. When diagnosing breaks, they should stick to the breaks instead of telling me that I need every fluid in my car replaced and a new timing belt (my entire timing assembly was replaced 8 months ago). The system where they send you your diagnosis is intuitive, and it would have earned this shop 4 stars on its own if this places service and practices weren't utterly reprehensible. When I got the diagnosis the total for recommended services was greater than $3000. Mind you, most of the services were recommended because my vehicle couldn't be looked up on Carfax, so they were automatically added to the list. Over the phone the employee talked to me as if I was either 12 or had never heard of a car. He explained to me that if I wanted my car to last I should do all of the services they recommended. For reference the labor cost for replacing spark plugs on my Hyundai was $500, and the job total was over $800 If I was a gullible and ignorant college student who has never been away from their parents I might have accepted the service. That type of manipulation seems to be their business model. For the service that I really needed, they charged $1600 in order to get my rear breaks replaced. The parts that they planned on using were the most expensive on the market. I of course denied this service and they tried to scare my by telling me my car was unsafe to drive and did not give my keys back until I signed a waiver. I drove my car the 300 miles home with no issue where my local shop fixed it for $450. In essence, my calipers, pistons and hoses were not broken, and although pictures were provided, those services did not need to be rendered to my vehicle. This is a dishonest and predatory business that relies on ignorance and price gouging.

They were so helpful and were able to get my car in for an inspection even though I scheduled the appointment very last-minute. Everyone who helped me was very friendly and my car was done in an hour. Will definitely be returning here for service!

After a scary late-night experience with a blown-out tire, having Brady come out and take care of my stranded car made such a difference. He was prompt, warm , sincere, and professional, and he knew his stuff when it came to cars. He changed my tire out and quickly realized that my car had more damage than just the blown tire, so he ended up towing it as well. The whole time he was there, I knew that my car and I were in caring and competent hands. Thanks so much, Brady!

Great experience with Campus auto. They were recommended by another parent from VT. My sons car was not starting and needed a new battery. More important they showed me the condition of his tires and the terrible shape my son had let them get to. Being in Richmond and not knowing anyone up there I trusted the recommendation from another parent, I am so glad I did. I'm convinced my son would have had a blowout with two of these tires that were showing the steel belts SMH. They were very reasonably priced, Quick to get it repaired and most importantly SAFE!!
