Came up here for the first time. I usually use the Fredericksburg Scrap Yard which is a very good one. They have a pretty good setup in there everybody was easy to deal with. The pricing was very good. They were very helpful. They have a nice little system where you pull in with your truck or van. Overall happy and I will definitely use them again

This is easily the best scrap yard in the area.
Have been using Potomac Metals Manassas location for a couple of years. Convenient drive-through drop off experience for small items (copper wire, batteries, etc.). For larger items (appliances, etc.) you drive through, weigh in on the scale, then around the side of the building to dump your items, then weigh again. Prices paid are reasonable for the area and it's better than putting your junk in a landfill. Sign up for their text messages, they occasionally offer special deals or customer appreciation lunches.
About the best place I have gone to in Manassas area don't ever go to Elon metals they don't pay honest price. look at the price for what you have type of metal and grade of metal at Potomac metals you get paid for what you bring but do know what you have before you go ask others ask me I do reviews of places I have been to but not always most places I visit I don't say anything but if they treat you wrong or take your money then they get a bad review Potomac metals is tops in my book just know what you have
You guys upset me big time last week
, I brought in an ac coil radiator that was 70lbs,. It is called a V unit or something on your computer, they are usually like a foot tall and are 2 radiators connected at the top.
Anyways, I was paid 8 bucks for it! Mine was 70bs!
So instead of getting like 60 bucks for it I got 8!!!!
All because it has 2 Small pieces of sheet metals held on by 2 screws. The steal couldn’t have weighed more than a pound.
But the place is pretty good usually nice people

I go there most every week. I always get a good deal. Maybe not the highest prices out there all the time but certainly competitive. Highly recommend as long as you know what you are selling. If you are not sure what you have then bring a sample with you and ask before loading up a big load to sell. Prices change fast in the scrap biz!
Fair my butt! i probably got taken but that's my fault. I had motors, a almost one hundred pound vfd, circuit boards. They usher you through the line and they hardly check. I went other places with similar air conditioners and left with more. I won't go back but I am sure they will do just fine ...
