Young man helped me with my battery this morning. He took care of business by diagnosing the problem and changing it out quickly. Give that man a raise.
Came in to get my battery tested. No one greeted me. The worker Trystan was annoyed by my presence. Didn't acknowledge me. Only thing he did was look at the girl who was working with him and nodded to her to assist me with the battery charge. I looked at him and he said "go" so I followed the girl out to my car. The charger came back as "low charge, charge and retest." However he refused to help me take out my battery so I can recharge it. I asked him if he would take my battery out if I bought a new battery, he said he would if I replaced my battery but wouldn't just to charge it. I called Autozone and asked if they would remove my battery to charge it and they said they would. So I went to Autozone. Where they tested my battery, the test said it was a bad battery immediately, I bought a battery and they installed it. I will never go back to Advanced Auto Parts and will go directly to AutoZone. I asked the girl who tested my battery if Trystan is always this rude to customers she said yes, just to customers tho. So it's a known and acceptable thing at this place. Save yourself the hassle and just go to AutoZone they are much more accommodating and friendly
My order was marked as picked up when it wasn’t picked up by mistake so I called and the employee over the phone was super helpful and nice and said he accidentally marked it as picked up which was fine. But when I got there the other employee was just like “I don’t see an order for Chase” and so I said “I have the order number” and then he said “that’s not gonna help me” very rudely. Then I mentioned I called because it was marked as picked up and the other employee knew what I was talking about because I assume he was the one I spoke to, but that other employee was rude and unhelpful idk what he expected me to do walk out and go home without what I paid for?
I went to this store today to ask for help picking a code reader for my car. I gave them the make, model and year to ensure the code reader I bought worked with my car. Bought the one they recommended. Brought it home and it wasn’t compatible with my car. I brought it back to the store same day and they flat out told me it wasn’t returnable and there wasn’t anything they could for me. $70 completely wasted.
Sold me two bad starter. Would never buy starters for advance auto parts bad for business only get one starter with warranty . They should just give your money back
I had been told by a friend that my car problems were possibly due to a weak battery. I took my BMW to Advance on Timberlake and Dan was more than helpful. He ran a test on my battery and alternator in the blistering heat with zero frustration . He told me that my battery and alternator were working just fine. While we were standing there my car made the hesitation in the engine that was the sound/issue I thought was my battery. But Dan knew exactly what it was and informed and educated me on what to do to fix it. I greatly appreciated all the help he offered me and will be returning to this Advance from here on out! Thanks Dan!!
Tony and a girl working who I didn’t catch her named were so friendly and helped me in every way they could find everything I needed. I went to get multiple parts and other items and even asked some questions they were very knowledgeable. 10/10 from the Waffle House guy.
Advanced Auto Parts saved us hundreds of dollars. We had a stuck oil filter that was shredded and we could not get it off our car. They gave us ideas and a tool that might work, keeping in mind not wanting to damage our vehicle. It worked!! Saved us from an expensive tow to a shop.
Brysen and Trystan (sorry if misspelled) delivered phenomenal yet over the top customer service. Before I finished explaining the issue, they were already working on fixing it. Thanks again gentlemen! Highly recommended stop for parts.
I called here and checked to see if they had a optima. They did and they guy was helpful. He was able to put it to the side and hold it till i got there. Thank you.
Was a great experience the gentleman helped me with all the questions I had walked me over to the part I needed and helped me pick out the best option for the item and he even put it on I will for now on go to them instead of auto zone a lot better customer service at advanced auto parts if there is a way I would give this place a 100 stars very very satisfied
This Advance Auto shop went above and beyond in getting our alternator replaced — not once, but twice! The general manager even gave us his personal cell phone number so that he could resolve any issues that might happen while he was on medical leave. We have had consistently great experiences at this Advance Auto, and although there are two other auto stores next door, we always choose this one first and strongly recommend our friends do so as well.
In addition to the above, when you shop here you get the high standard customer service that all Advance Auto locations have: free alternator, battery, and starter testing, free windshield wiper installation, used oil recycling, and generally knowledgeable staff to answer your questions.
BJ was great
He really took the time to make sure that I got the right battery services that I needed and he was courteous and knowledgeable and quick. I will always come back to advance when I need my battery looked at or replaced
The employees at Advanced Auto Parts on Timberlake Road have always been very helpful and they're my go to place for car batteries, windshield wipers, etc. Employees and customers wear masks.
My check engine light came on. Wyatt & BJ were extremely helpful. Wyatt was able to run a diagnostic test to determine what the issue at hand was. He then educated me on what the possible causes were. I opted to start with the simplest fix first and BJ helped pick out the correct part. Thanks guys! You rock!
I've had terrible experiences at this store lately. Twice in a 24 hour period I had to exchange a part and the employees returned the charges to the credit card instead of exchanging the item. Wasted a half a day dealing with these people. The only reason I still use them is because of my coupons and even now I see the problems aren't worth the 20% I save.
Great store, the employees really make it worth while. They offer plenty of complimentary equipment, and a huge selection of parts through their network. Fair prices, but not the cheapest you can find(online stores are going to beat it) but you get what you pay for.
I went to buy valve stem extraction tool and i found one at decent price. But big wally world had one for two bucks cheaper. i bought it here at advance anyway. i had to wait a while because there were only 2 guys there and a few customers before me, though
Great service! I came in with my toddler in tow and the staff helped me right away with finding the right wiper blades for my car. Then one of them even put them on for me! I will always choose Advanced Auto over any other auto parts chain!
People are nice and helpful, prices are good, selection seems to be good. One employee pointed out something very useful to me - anything they sell can be bought online for pickup in the store, and a discount applied, usually some where around 25% or even up to 40%. Only previously reduced sale items are excluded. This has saved me money on many occasions.
I once went back to this store, with no receipt, and showed them that the expensive wiper blades I had purchased months ago were a big disappointment, never worked well. They gave me the best made by another brand, installed, with no hassle whatsoever.
-UPDATE: It seems that everybody who knew anything is now gone, and the new group in inept and slow. One guy struggled for 20 minutes trying to put wiper blades on my car, never succeeding, and I had to ask him about 5 times to stop putting the blades and packaging on the hood of my car. Another guy came out and installed them, and I also told him at least 3 times to stop putting things on the hood of my car.
The blades they put on were way too thick and looked ridiculous, and it took him an hour (no kidding) to do an exchange. He kept blaming it on the computer, but I heard him finally call somebody who told him how to do it.
There is now usually a crowd waiting in the store to get help because this new crop of employees is slow, inexperienced, and poorly trained. One of the wiper blades I bought started started chattering across the windshield less than 2 weeks later, and they tried to tell me that they "weren't a warranty item", but when I made it very clear that I wasn't going to accept it, they finally relented. Back to the competition.
Not as awesome as the Old Forest Road store, but *very* helpful and friendly staff. They didn't have the part I was looking for, but the employee actually *called another business* to see if they had the bulb I was looking for. When he didn't find it, he looked online and found a few places to get it inexpensively.
My home store will still be the Old Forest store, but I'll travel here rather than going to Wards Road if I need something on that side of town!
Staff didn't seem interested in doing their jobs or making any effort to be helpful. If you know exactly what you want and don't need any help locating it probably a good place to find automotive parts and stuff but I would rather spend my money elsewhere.
Most of these guys are mechanics too and have helped me reviews about products available. Excellent help and very good prices. However I suggest that online reviews be read about parts to validate fit..... this is a best practice for all parts suppliers before ordering. Sometimes ordering from Advance auto online before picking up at store can save money.
The store manager Glenn is so helpful.
I frequent this location because of the knowledge of Glenn and his willing to assist me with products.
I do not go to any of the other locations because it is a one stop shop for me.
