I called the store this morning spoke with JUSTIN about my engine light being on, and provided code. He explained what it could be, but I would need to bring car in so he could get a number off engine and run test. He explained in detail what could be the problem, but asked me to bring car in, NO PROBLEM. Next, I asked did I need appointment, and cost, he told me I didn’t need appointment, and there would be NO cost for test, and it would be up to me if I wanted to get it fixed. This is where everything took a turn for the worse. I went in, asked for Justin, and told the young man at counter, I had just spoken to Justin, and he told me I could come up for him to do test. The young man advised JUSTIN that I was there, JUSTIN told him he NEVER talked to me about bringing my car in, and didn’t tell me there was no charge, and the fee would be $98. Next, JUSTIN came to the front, didn’t acknowledge me at all, turned around quickly, and went back to the car he was working on, at this point I’m feeling DISRESPECTED, and JUSTIN LIED about a conversation we had about 40 mins prior to me getting there. How would I know to ask for JUSTIN if I had not talked to him prior, and why would I take the time to drive up there?? If JUSTIN would LIE about a PHONE CALL he had with me, I feel he would LIE about anything when speaking with customers. I would advise anyone that talks to JUSTIN about getting repairs, get it in WRITING first. Again, if JUSTIN lied about something as simple as a conversation about bringing my car there, I would question his work ETHIC, as well as his INTEGRITY!! The two employees that I spoke to in the waiting area were VERY PROFESSIONAL, not JUSTIN!!

I deal with Larry's on all my oil, inspection, and tire needs. The guys up front are always professional and helpful. The job in the back is always done correctly the first time. Highly recommend.

My daughter had a bolt in her tire. We were right next to Larry’s & walked in to see if they could fix it the same day. They got her car in immediately and were extremely helpful! Justin & Kentrell were so kind and so sweet! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Larry’s & staff! Thank you guys!!!

We purchase a 14YO Buick with only 89K miles which was a great deal, BUT there were several repairs that needed to be made due to failed engine components from under usage. Mac was terrific in providing fast, accurate estimates and helping us prioritize repairs. Thomas did the engine and brake work and the difference in engine performance was remarkable! I’ve been a loyal customer for many years and I will not claim that they are perfect, however, the FEW times that mistakes occurred, the staff has always made it right! HIGHLY recommend Larry’s!

I have been taking my family vehicles here for years...I am truly impressed with this place! Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly people work here! It can be hard to find good mechanics...especially ones that put the customer first...but this place is it! Thank you for the hard work through the years and I will see you again next week!

Great shop, been here plenty of times. Great prices on all my fixes, just saved me about $400 vs nearby shops on my repair, and have done so for any past repairs. Highly recommend them for any work that needs done.

I brought my 2005 Toyota Camry in for some problems I was having. Larrys’s got me scheduled quickly. They resolved all of the issues and had me back on the road the same day. Thank you Larry’s Tire for the quick turnaround.

Was having problems with my radiator right before Christmas. I called Larry’s and they got me scheduled the very next day. They were knowledgeable, kind, very affordable, and quick to replace my radiator and get me back on the road in no time. It’s not the first time I have been there. I go there for all my maintenance needs and inspections. They are always quick and courteous! I would recommend them to anyone needing service work done.

Just picked my car up following the usual kind, attentive and excellent service at Larry's auto repair. Was treated very warmly by Matt and Malcom, service was prompt and efficient, my vehicle was returned on time and well done. Will definitely continue to use Larry's for my auto repair needs.

LU parents, I highly encourage you to think twice before sending your kids here. I did not have a good experience (im being nice). After asking around, many locals nodded knowingly.

Fast service and got my truck back in a timely manner. I broke down Easter Sunday was able to get my truck towed to the shop and back the next day. They called and said the starter had gone bad and fixed it for me. Truck started like brand new. Highly recommend for all your vehicle needs and repairs. Shout out to the team, Thank you.

"I can tell by how it smells the engine is shot.' Yep - that's what the mechanic told my son when he brought his vehicle in that was letting out a little smoke. It needed an entire new engine. Really? On a 2013 Explorer with 130,000 miles? Yep. That was the recommendation of this highly ethical shop. They even told my friend the same thing when he went in to check for me. Turns out it was just a bad PVC valve (the honest guys at Lacks found out). So if you want to be ripped off and treated like you are an idiot - Larry's is your place! I have had some bad mechanic experiences in my day, but this one really tops them all. I would give them a lower rating that 1 star, but it wont let me. Save your cash and keep driving or pushing your vehicle somewhere else!

As a long-standing and loyal customer of Larry’s Tire and Auto for many years, I am writing to express my increasing dissatisfaction with the service I have received during my past few visits. While I have historically valued the expertise and reliability of your team, recent experiences have unfortunately fallen short of the standards I have come to expect. My most recent visit, in particular, has prompted this review. Following the completion of the service, I was dismayed to find a significant amount of engine grime or oil present on both my steering wheel cover and on the headliner of my vehicle. This lack of care in protecting the interior of my car is frankly unacceptable and has left me quite disappointed. In the past, I have consistently recommended Larry’s Tire and Auto to friends and family based on the quality of your work and the professionalism of your staff. However, these recent instances have caused me to reconsider my confidence in the level of attention to detail and overall care provided. I understand that mistakes can occasionally occur. However, the presence of such noticeable contamination within the vehicle after service indicates a lapse in standard operating procedures and a lack of respect for customer property.

In a single review one can hardly extol the excellency of this establishment but I will attempt such. My car suffered from a broken fuel pump and would not start. I towed it to Larry’s and received unparalleled care. They always took my calls, provided me quotes, and updated me on the work. As a broke college student, I ended up having to walk from Liberty to the shop and when I informed them, Mac from the shop came to pick me up! Larry’s is truly the last bastion of outstanding customer service in the post-covid world; go nowhere else for your automotive needs.

Friendly, honest and fast. My car’s wiper fluid wasn’t coming out, not a drop. I thought there was something wrong with the pump and possibly needed to be replaced. I was told this by another mechanic elsewhere, who was too busy, and said it could take hours to repair with a rough estimate of $300-$400… Larry’s mechanic unclogged the fluid lines within minutes. Then, I wasn’t even charged! Zero! For them it was too quick of an easy fix. If only all mechanics could be so competent and honest. I very highly recommend this place to anyone with any car issue! Thanks again for the awesome service!

I needed an affordable (fair) oil change so I was recommended Larry's by some friends and I'm so glad I went. Kate helped me get my oil changed set up and get my car serviced. She told me about how I needed new tires (I didn't even realize they were bare) and gave me an amazing quote and helped me compare options. Kate was super kind and patient with me since I know nothing about cars. She helped me get everything taken care of us and gave me a student discount. While I was waiting I saw a gentleman come in and had a really negative attitude but Kate and her coworker handled the whole situation with IMPRESSIVE kindness, patience, and professionalism. I only have great things to say about Larrys, and especially Kate. They are fair, affordable, and fast. I recommend!!

I recently brought my vehicle into Larry's Tire after having a bad experience with another local shop. Couple that with my being a female, I was very reluctant to say the leaset. To my surprise, I was greeted with a smile as soon as I came through the door. I let them know the problems my car has been having, and they let me know they would have a technician look at it and let me know. I sat down and enjoyed some popcorn while I waited. About 45 minutes later, they came out to let me know they were able to find my problem. They took me out and showed me what was going on, then walked me back up front to go over the estimate. I called my dad to see if everything seemed right, and he talked to them and got back on the phone with me and said it was a good price, and what they found lined up with my issues. They told me the parts were in stock and would take about two hours to repair. I agreed, and they got to work on my car. Fast forward two hours later, and my car was ready. They asked if I was a student and added a discount to my bill for being a student. I was unaware they had a discount for students, and I was surprised they took the time to save me more money. It has been about two weeks, and my car is back to perfect. I will definitely be recommending Larry's to all my friends!!!!

EDIT: I am currently working on an agreeable solution w/ Larry’s. Once complete, I’ll update accordingly. I had an appointment for my Jeep 12/4/23 at 3pm to diagnose possible concerns with my coolant level. By the end of the day, I called at 4:49pm. I was told they “didn’t get to it” so that they would look at it the next day. On Tuesday 12/5/23 I received a call at 9:47am describing the various issues that they found (batteries, oil pan gasket leak, etc.), but have not yet found a coolant leak. I was told that they ran pressure tests, but would wait for the parts to come in to fix oil leaks before further diagnosing. I called again this day at 4:54pm to inquire about the general process. I was told they were hoping 1-2 days. I asked if I needed to contact my warranty company to determine coverage and was told that they take care of the warranty side. I called on 12/11/23 at 12:07pm to inquire about progress and estimated time of repair. Advisor and tech were at lunch. I received a call at 4:14pm. I was told they were waiting to receive one more part, but still have not noticed an issue with coolant. I inquired again about the warranty in regard to the oil leaks. I was told they had not contacted the warranty company and was told that since it was already past 4, they would contact the warranty company the next morning to determine coverage. I received a voicemail on 12/13/23 at 8:58am confirming that they were hoping to have finished by end of the week and still no information on the coolant itself. I received a voicemail on 12/14/23 at 3:35pm from Brad. I called Brad on 12/14/23 at 3:46pm. He advised that my car was “technically done.” He stated that they conducted pressure tests on the radiator and the coolant held steady for hours. He stated that the thermostat may be stuck open, but they can’t determine without going in there. He said he priced one.I asked if it had been questioned if warranty would cover. He stated he would get with Delaney. I stated she told me she was going to call about the oil leaks on Tuesday, but I had yet to hear anything. I called my warranty company on 12/14/23 at 4:04pm. The gentleman confirmed that they had not been contacted by Larry’s and that oil leaks are generally covered. The shop needs to provide a diagnosis and causation. He advised that it typically takes 2-3 days to process. I called Larry’s on 12/14/23 at 4:12pm. and spoke with Delaney. I advised that I spoke with the warranty company and was told that they had not been contacted, and that generally oil leaks would be covered under my contract. She said that she told me she was waiting to contact when it was determined about the coolant. I advised of the conversation that we had Monday in which she said she was going to go ahead and call Tuesday morning to get an answer. She said after I talked to Brad today he told her to call them in the morning, but that she would go ahead and call now if I would like. I confirmed that I would like for her to go ahead and call. I expressed that I was furious because now that my car is “technically done” I don’t want to have to wait additional days on the back end because they didn’t contact the warranty company like they originally said. Friday, 12/15/23, I finally got my car back. They did give me an auxiliary battery as an apology. However, my car was left a mess. The floor mats were not put back in place and the cover over the batteries was not put back on (batteries in my car are under the passenger seat). I was eligible for a rental car through my warranty company, but because the shop did not contact the warranty company despite my numerous requests, I wasn’t able to do this. Flash forward to 3/26/24. I took my car into a different shop. The oil gasket leak that was allegedly fixed, in fact wasn’t.

Awesome experience, I had to get my car towed to Larry's when i was visiting from out of town. Not only were they fast, but they managed to give me an extremely fair price. Kate helped me through every step of the way, even booked me a rental car for the mean time. 10/10 would recommend. If you need your car fixed, i recommend asking for Kate when you call!

Rolled over a screw at 11:50 AM and had the tire repaired by 1:05 PM! All the competitors couldn’t work us in until at least an hour and a half to 3 hours later. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere in the waiting room was calm and comfortable. Their service was fast and work was quality. Highly recommend and will definitely be a return customer.

Yesterday I ran over a bolt in an intersection and got it stuck in my tire. I pulled into Larry’s about a half hour before closing and explained that I was worried about the safety of driving the 30 minutes home. One fella nodded to the other, put out his hand for my keys and I waited. A few minutes later, the first fella came to the waiting area with a four inch bolt in his hand. He smiled, said I was lucky—no damage to my tire, and I was free to go. No charge. My heroes! Decent fellas helped this old lady out :)

If you are considering Larry’s tire think again!!! Terrible experience causing the loss time and money!!!!!! In September 2022 I had a flat tire I plugged the tire myself just fine and used my locking lug key with no issues. In October of 2022 I went to Larry’s tire because I need a VA state inspection. The technician working there took my tires off using the locking lug key and stated that he would not pass my jeep because of the plug in the tire. He then said to keep from getting a failed inspection I needed to pay $600 for two new tires. I asked a supervisor there if this was normal because I have passed inspections with a plug before. He stated that the plug was not an issue and he would tell the technician to pass my jeep and put my tires back on the way they were. Now fast forward to January I have noticed my tires have been leaking a few pounds a day for the last couple months and now that the holidays are over I want to address the issue. When I attempt to remove the tires the locking lug key is destroyed and every lug nut is over torqued. I took my jeep to another shop who confirmed that the previous person who put my tires on over torqued them and made the key unusable. They ended up welding nuts to the end of my locking lugs to remove them which cost me lots of time, money, and inconvenience. They also confirmed the technician damaged my valve stems leading my tires to leak more than before an issue that is still ongoing. If you are considering Larry’s tire you might want to think again.

We’re from out of town and had a punctured tire on our drive through Lynchburg. Despite a packed day the team at Larry’s fit us in, took great care of us, and had the tire patched and ready to go in no time.

Back story: I live 180 miles from the shop, I was in town for work. (My Vehicle: 05 Subaru Legacy Gt Auto ) had a stud on front drivers tire break while trying to get home to a family emergency. I stayed at a hotel a mile away. Called shop at 8am next day (Friday) and inquired about the repair and replacement of all 5 studs on the front and rear. I expressed the concern of the job being done same day, and that I was not a local. Service writer told me to get it towed in and they would get me back on the road.Car was dropped off by 9am. By 10:00 I was called and asked "what are we doing again" like I hadn't provided the details already when I came in and handed my keys over. Explained the job a 2nd time to service writer. I received the 2nd call by 11am stating 10 lugs and 10 studs was 220$ (about 170$ more then autozones cost) I agreed to the price. By 11am I recieved my 3rd call saying im sorry we forgot to include labor and this is a massive job and is minimum 4hrs at 80$ a hour. The cost 320$ + 220$ = 550$. I agreed as I had already had the car towed there and needed to get it fixed regardless of the over priced cost. At 230 I recieved call #4. Unfortunately we can't do the job, our "experienced tech" has other jobs more important and cant get to it today. Dumbfounded I repeated it back to the service writer.. So your now telling me you can't do the job? He instantly became rude and combative and told me they could get it done Monday! I replied with this is unacceptable and not what was discussed. The service writer went on to try and explain the job to me and state their "experienced tech" was needed as it required full disassembly of my wheel hub to replace the bolts and they didn't have a tech qualified to do so that day. When I reiterated that it is now 230pm on a Friday and live 180miles away and had called at 8am to insure it could be done the service writer told me good luck finding another shop on a Friday late afternoon to do it. I immediately asked for a supervisor and we spoke for some time and again was told the job couldn't be done due to its difficulty. I picked the car up and had to ask the shop to atleast tighten the lugs before I left because guess what they didnt tighten them down before they were about to have me take the car. They did tighten them down and did not require me to purchase the parts that they supposedly had ordered for the job ( I doubt they ever were ordered in the 1st place )I ended up driving the car home at my risk because I was left with no other options late Friday and enterprise/uhaul both did not have a rental until Monday.I attended UTi for ASC certification almost 12 years ago. Im not a dummy and know cars. I was aware the cost was outrageous but needed help and was not in my home area to do it myself. I did end up doing the job myself and guess what.. The job did not require the wheel bearing and hub to be seperated, if they had even attempted to do the job they would have been able to see the hub is designed with a notch to push each stud in or out. I purchased 10 studs and 10nuts for 48$ at autozone. It took roughly 45min in my driveway to replace all 5 front studs and my brake pads! I spoke with the shop manager after I left the initial negative review (that for some reason is now gone) and they had offered to pay for the repairs at a shop of my choice. I appreciated the offer, but this was never about the inflated cost, it was about integrity of a buisness and their poor expectation set forth during our conversation at 9am. I explained not only the issues with this, the employees extremely disrespectful behavior as well as some other observations. The service writer called me after accepting the car to re-verify the job (1st sign they were not capable of the job at hand)as well as my observation of service writers wondering the parking lot with key fobs clicking unlock to locate cars because they truly don't know what they were looking for,Or the fact they had to ask several other customers multiple times what they were driving, or what they were doing. Beware
