We were stranded in Lynchburg when a brake line broke, rendering us without brakes. We towed it to National Tire and Battery because it was Friday night, and they are the only shop open over the weekend. They weren't able to get an OEM brake line in for a few days, but instead they used copper line they had at the shop to create a custom brake line. They did a good job, and we were driving out of there 24 hours after we broke down.
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!! We had my stepdaughters car inspected here a few weeks ago. We then thought about selling the car due to what it failed for then it was suggested we get a second opinion. Guess what??, it didn’t fail. Not a single thing wrong. We got our sticker and for the heck of it had it looked over at the dealer and was told the items it failed for at NTB were perfectly fine. I’m calling out the inspector here. ANDREW FIELDER. You should be ashamed of yourself. Taking advantage of a female college student. We are also filing a complaint with the Virginia State Police.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE FOR ANYTHING.
They took the time to make sure my truck was 100 pct before the rolled it and out and when I had an issue afterward, brought it back and they took care of it on the spot. Great service and reliable work, won’t go anywhere else!

UPDATED: I decided to bring my vehicle back since I needed tires and was about due for an inspection again, so I figured I’d update my review to reflect this recent visit. Everything went smoothly! Got a good price on tires and I’m legal still lol - Glad to see Terry was still there (these places seem to have crazy employee turn around so it’s nice to see a familiar face!). He took good care of my vehicle and I again. I still highly recommend NTB/Mavis and have sent numerous people here for tires, all of whom were happy.
Also, Terry was apparently promoted to manager since my last visit (congratulations!), so now I feel even better recommending this place!!!!

I was overdue for an oil change and state inspection, so called around to a few places to see where I could get them both done on short notice and in a timely manner. When I called here I spoke with Terry, who was professional and friendly on the phone and said he could fit me in. He was there when I got there, and was able to get them both done that day as promised.
I hate going to mechanics about as much as I do dentists, so it was refreshing to find one who seems honest and didn’t pressure me to buy a bunch of crap I didn’t immediately need. That said, as long as Terry is still there, I’ll be going back when I need new tires.
Very displeased with this location. I’m told I need to have a reservation to have my vehicle serviced. When did this change? The man I spoke with was very condescending towards me. I didnt get his name. A tall gentleman with blondish hair and glasses. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
The staff was friendly, professional, and made sure to explain everything clearly before starting the work. They finished quickly without cutting corners, and my car drives smoother than ever. Pricing was fair, and the waiting area was clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back for future maintenance needs!
Massive shoutout to the store manager at National Tire and Battery (wish I had caught his name!). I came in less than 30 minutes before closing, but seeing I was in a tough situation, he went out of his way to help me.
He got me in and out in about 20 minutes with a fresh tire, and his service was outstanding — friendly, conversational, professional, and kind. I truly appreciated the extra effort and top-notch customer service. Highly recommend this location!

I had a great experience here, took in my truck for an alignment and wheel balance and they let me know that I did not need an alignment and also informed me that I had a special lug nut key that I wasn’t aware of so I wasn’t able to get my wheels balanced but their honesty is greatly appreciated and I will definitely be coming here again to get my wheels balanced! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful.
I had a popped tire and this place was open thankfully! They saved me and Larry was so nice! I appreciate all of the help! I definitely recommend this place!

Great friendly customer service. I was able to schedule my service in the timeframe that worked best with my schedule, and am very pleased overall. I saw how they interacted with other customers, and everyone was treated with respect and kindness.
Called before heading into town for inspection and was told first come first serve. Drove 30 minutes and was told, we don’t have inspections today but you can come tomorrow. What a waste of time for customer, and this would have been my first time. Wound up being my last. Communicate better, people depend on automotive services and communication can make or break your business.

All I can say is thank you. We were headed to Baltimore Friday for my niece's Marine retirement ceremony. We got a nail in the tire from all the construction going on in the Lynchburg area. Long story short. I was there before the store opened at 8. The manager said I will get you back on the road. He had me in and out by 8:30. He and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. I love the way that they doubled checked the bolts on the tires. That was great teamwork. But the whole experience was 1st class. Thank you so much. We made it in time, and it was awesome. Really appreciated the service here. We needed a brake caliper looked at, as it seemed like it was seizing. NTB looked at it, told us it would need replacement soon. They lubricated it and told us to get it replaced soon. Didn't even charge us for the diagnosis. Very commendable!
Bought new tires on Saturday. Sunday morning one was completely flat. Pumped it up and went immediately back to NTB, Wards Road. They made me an appointment for 2pm. 2PM! Tire went flat less than 24 hours after they installed it yet had to wait til 2PM. Not good.
Courteous staff, no pressure sales, timely work, and suggestions on future services needed. Larry kept us informed on two cars since we were moving two Liberty University students out of their firms for the summer. Price of services very competitive.

WARNING: If you have a student in the Lynchburg Area, inform them NOT to use this store's services for anything other than tires. Had very bad experience from this store in which had to have my student's car towed to another local mechanic only to find out it was simply a blown fuse - I'm now out another $305. Called to discuss and was told to call back next week as Manager on vacay. Spoke to Manager, Larry, today to see if they would help on that cost and got hung up on when trying to explain the situation. STAY AWAY!
This is some of the best customer service that I’ve ever experienced. EVERY team member that I encountered spoke to me. The sales guys were informative and affable. The tire professionals were thorough, helpful, clean, fast and professional. Terry was sales rep but everyone was great.
Made appointment to get TPMS replaced. Showed up at appointment time, and they immediately pulled it in and started working on it. About an hour and a half later, all fixed, and out the door.
I had written about my experience(s) here over a year+ ago and really wasn't sure if I wanted to return. But with great prices, I tried again and am so glad I did. I believe it was Larry(?) who had spoken with me on the phone to schedule an appointment for tires and an oil change, and it was Robert(?) that I interacted with upon checking in. They were both so courteous, professional, and just plainly decent human beings that I felt like it was a totally different business than when I'd been here before! Genuinely so thankful for the services today!
