I understand you have to have a cutoff time or you would never get off for the day but sometimes if you've got a customer sitting on the scale at 1241 on Saturday and the lady walks up to the windows and points at the closed sign and you've driven close to 30 miles maybe just maybe you could take the containers of number 1 copper in the backseat of the small car wouldn't take 10 min if your staff is efficient as you claim I could've made my little bit change and you could've made a new customer for life from just being considerate.
Had 6,000lbs of steel in the trailer, maybe a couple hundred pounds of that was dirt but was told they couldn't pay me for any of it. Magnet operator was a nice enough guy but kindness doesn't pay. So don't bring any steel or rehar from cleaning up a jobsite here unless you want to give it away. Almost forgot to mention that I called and talked to the scalehouse ahead of time, and then when I got there the woman in there told me to head to the back and get unloaded rather than checking if there was too much dirt in it like I had called and asked.
Original review below. I've adjusted my rating to 5 stars because after 4 months the aggregate has settled down and compacted and is working very well.

We ordered 40 tons of crushed concrete as a base material for our driveway.
First, the positive:
They were super easy to work with, courteous, and the pricing for the crushed concrete was transparent and fair. $12 a ton was pretty hard to pass up compared to the cost of gravel.
Now, the negative:
I didn’t have an opportunity to look at the product prior to ordering, and it was described as very similar to crusher run. However, when it was delivered, I was surprised to see that it was mostly sand. I’d say 60% sand/fines, 40% larger aggregate. This might be ideal for compaction in some scenarios, but in my case even after compacting, it turns to a sandy soup that gets picked up heavily by my tires after a light rain. I was hoping to be able to drive on it for a bit prior to ordering additional gravel, but unfortunately, it’s not going to work.
Understand this is recycled aggregate, and your mileage may vary. In my case, it’s been a somewhat disappointing $900 investment.

Every single time I go here I’m disgusted. Go give another one of the companies in Lynchburg your business. Their customer service is trash. They grunt, point and shout at you. There are barely any signs or directions for where to go once you enter. There is sharp screws and metal all over the ground where you need to park to unload. I’ve been here 10+ times and it’s always the same. There are a bunch of other metal recycling companies in town so go give them your business.
Great prices- building had all its doors have to be rekeyed - i had a bunch of buckets of keys and man i got 500 dollars for that. hope they lose that master key again
They lied to me when I bought in scrap wire. Told me number 1 scrap copper was two dollars per pound the after they weighted it and carried it off they said "oh sorry its 1.50 per pound not 2 dollars." Scam. Liars.
Approaching 360000 lbs. of crushed concrete hauled 3 tons at a time from BRC to my home. One of my favorite places to go. Feel good recycling concrete, which packs better than crusher run at a fraction of the price. Have also sold metal there. Great service buying and selling.
