Disappointing experience at Foss Recycling in Lynchburg. They don't help you unload and the process for weighing and paying out scrap metal is slow compared to other yards. Seems like a lot of new staff and it feels more like a big corporate operation than a locally owned yard.

Since they have moved to the new location, things are better for customer service. The flow around the facility is better for getting things weighed and dropped off. The gentleman in the lot was helpful as well. Only need is to repair the very large holes and bumps in the yard that make a mess of the vehicles, especially when wet outside.

Tried to bring a load of rebar from around my shop (I pour concrete for a living) was accused of smoking dope and was told they wouldn’t take my metal.

New location on Fairview Ave is really nice. They have a covered drive-thru area for non-ferrous. Clear signs and directions. Two workers helped me unload and weigh. Workers knew how to identify material properly. All prices were above national average listed on Iscrap App.

I stopped by there to drop off some bags of aluminum drink cans. Easy in and out after a short wait with a little extra pocket change. If you are cleaning up scrap meat or drink cans good place to take them and say a quick "hello " to John and his crew.

Super friendly, down to earth and excellent service that made for a great experience dealing with all the employees I came into contact with. Plus they recycle a large range of materials plus pay top Dollar!!! The only place I will go to from now on.
