Towed my undriveable car after I was in an accident (called by FFX County Police). I was kinda spaced out due to my air bags exploding around me; tow truck driver was very kind and professional which was a big help.
The next day I arranged sale of my car as junk; the folks at Henry’s were very busy but took good care of me when I called and came to their Merrifield lot to retrieve and turn my vehicle over to the buyer’s tow. The desk operator was uber nice and professionally got me settled. Other folks nice too - even gave me some help when I had the wrong tool to remove my rear plate. The pickup driver was late and no one hassled me for being in the way (I probably deserved it!).
Prices seemed to be set by FFX County Police, and I noticed capital and expenses to execute this work must be high, so really not knowing much they seemed fair to me.
Overall not a fun experience, but the good folks at Henry’s really helped me get through it. Thank-you. Please don’t be offended if I am not in a hurry to repeat!Feb 11, 2026 -
If I can give this place 0 stars I would. This towing company is incompetent and if your car got impounded by them, I’m sorry but your car is most likely damaged.

Horrible service from the front desk! That lady couldn’t articulate two distinct words and was offended when we didn’t understand what she was mumbling
Zero empathy, zero social skillsJan 07, 2026 -
They towed my car without even checking if my vehicle is registered !! i had my tag but my mechanic had left it in the glove compartment
it cost me $500 !!! they are stealing people and noone is holding them accoutable...Dec 27, 2025 -
They towed me 5 minutes after parking "for walking off the property" when I in fact never left the property. The owner refused to reimburse me for the charge I had to pay under duress to get my car back.
Please, if you are not towed legally then file a complaint online with the Virginia Attorney General and the Fairfax County Department of Consumer AffairsDec 14, 2025 -
There was one towing sign in a large lot that I missed which is a predatory practice by Henry's to increase tows. I noticed my car was gone 10 minutes after parking. I ended up contacting the police because I thought my car had been stolen. Henry's didn't report to the police that they had my car for an hour so they sent an officer out and began collecting information before we finally learned that I'd been towed.
I paid $150 to get my car back and then went to look at my dash cam footage. All of the footage from time of the towing was gone! The clips only resumed when my car was in the Henry's lot. I also noticed a bunch of scuff marks in my car that weren't there before. Clearly someone from Henry's went into my car and deleted the dashcam footage from the SIM card. I don't know what they did to decide that that was necessary - they had no reason for entering my car as far as I'm concerned!
A very shady business.Dec 14, 2025 -
David is amazing. I was in a bad spot. I was moving and I am a single dad of a 4 year old. I rented a uhaul to try to move quickly. While inside the driver took the truck, with my wallet, keys, money, etc in it. The previous person wouldn't let me in the truck to get my stuff, and wasnt being that helpful actually kind of rude. David was a breath of fresh air. I told him how my car electrical fried and my 4 year old was at home sick with the flu, and I needed a car. He politely gave me a card to an auction, and just overall was great. He didn't need to let me in because I found another id, but he made the usual crappy "towed" experience not so bad, and actually pleasant. I also spoke to a guy from the tech support department out front. He was also amazing .

They were towing my car when I showed up. Their employee who was towing my car got out of the car and started telling me I am gonna tow it and it would cost $250 to get it back. He even pretended to call someone and say if he can reduce the cost. Then he told me he will drop it at $210. Later he asked me for cash indicating that he can just drop it off without anyone knowing. Kept insisting that he can drive me to the ATM so I can take cash out so he can drop the car right there. When I got to their office. They charged me around $160. They have a real scam business going on there.

These people charged me $90 storage fees even when my car was there for less than 30 minutes. Already, the police had my car towed from a road where it was ambiguous whether people can park due to the federal government shut down.

I was towed from Pan Am Shopping Center in Merrifield, VA under circumstances that seem illegal. There were no visible towing signs near where I parked, and the only sign in the lot was blocked and missing a phone number. When I tried to contact the towing company, the number did not work, and I had to call Fairfax County to locate my vehicle.
Under Fairfax County Code §82-5-32 and Virginia Code §46.2-1233.1, towing companies must provide clearly posted signs and a working 24-hour contact number. Since these requirements were not met, the tow was executed improperly.
I had to pay $180 for this tow, which I am disputing. I hope the management addresses these violations to prevent this from happening to other customers.Oct 25, 2025 -
They damaged my car and ignored my calls!
This towing company completely broke my fender line while towing my car. I’ve tried calling the manager multiple times, but they never answer or call back. I took photos showing the damage right after the tow. This is unprofessional and unacceptable — they need to take responsibility and fix what they broke. Be careful if you ever have to deal with them.Oct 23, 2025 -
I'd give 0 stars if I could. 100s of cars parked along a road with people trying to see nature. This company decided to prey on these people trying to have a nice fall day and tow all of their cars. This is outrageous. When going up to the tow truck that had my car and politely asked if there was a drop fee I could just pay since I was there and so was the car. He said no and told me I could figure out a 30 minute drive while I'm in the middle of the forest with no service. It is insane there is no drop fee or anything of the sort. Another man was getting in his car and they were still trying to tow it as he was in his car starting it and trying to drive off. This is cruel and the company deserves to go under.

Towing is already so wrong, stranding people should not be legal. I was attempting to enjoy the national park along side 100’s of other visitors. I finished my hike to find tow trucks towing a 100 plus cars parked along side the road due to the government shutdown. We ran up to the truck that had my car on it and tried pleading with the driver if we could just pay the drop fee so we can get our car back. He just drove away leaving us miles away from a highway and with no way to get to the tow company. After a long walk we made it to the busy road where we walked till we got service again and the ability to call an Uber. The company took my car 30 minutes away and now I can expect to pay $200 or more to get my car back. This company is diabolical- stranding people especially when you are in sight of your car is just evil. I don’t know how you can ethically run a company like that. Do better

Now, I know the towing place is not a fun experience, but the employees there were SO helpful. Especially the receptionist (I forgot her name!) I was wrongfully towed in Fairfax, and Henry’s defended me by explaining to the property manager who towed me, didn’t charge me, and got me out fast. I appreciate all the employees and how helpful they are. Thank you so much!

really thanks for the dispatcher, Austin with henrys ,i had a really tough time trying to get my vehicle released, and I want to sincerely thank the dispatcher who went above and beyond to help me. Throughout the whole process, he kept me updated, was patient, and genuinely tried to assist in every way possible. After days of frustration, his support made a big difference. It’s rare to find someone who truly cares, and I’m very grateful for the effort he put in. Thank you again Austin for everything! thanks Henry's Wrecker Service <3

I can't say enough good things about the tow truck driver, Travis, who came to my rescue during a storm. He arrived promptly, kept me updated on his ETA, and was incredibly polite, immediately putting me at ease in a stressful situation. Despite the weather, he was kind, calm, and very knowledgeable. He even took the time to explain what might be going on with my car. He didn't have an easy job towing my car since we couldn't get it into neutral, so he had to do some extra work. He went out of his way to ensure I was safe and comfortable and was extremely accommodating throughout the entire process. I’m grateful for his professionalism and compassion.
Henry's was quick to answer the phone when I called and dispatched a driver immediately. I had called 3 or 4 other companies and no one would even agree to tow me since it was to a different county than the one I was in.Jun 30, 2025 -
They practice the most disgusting and unethical business I may have ever seen in my entire life and that comment is not to be taken lightly from someone who used to work in the car business…
As you can see from the photos, I was involved in a severe motorcycle accident after being struck by a stray mustang driver on 395. My neck was fractured and I spent 4 days in the hospital just to come out of there and find out my motorcycle was taken by Henry’s to their towyard.
They charged me $1,325 to collect the remnants of what was left of the motorcycle. Insane fees with zero backing to it. $90/day storage fee just for them to throw the bits and pieces of my motorcycle next to a pile of scraps.
I explained to them my situation and that I’ve been severely injured (probably apparent looking at the motorcycle) and had no way to pay their exorbitant and immoral fees and also cover my rent/additional expenses that have stemmed from my accident, and yet they had zero interest in assisting in any way. No waiving of their arbitrarily made up fees, no payment plan option, no splitting the payment over 2 weeks even….Jun 28, 2025 -
I was in a bind when my car broke down on the side of the road, but Travis came to the rescue! He was incredibly polite and clearly very knowledgeable about his job. Plus, his manners were top-notch. I highly recommend his services to anyone in need!

You never think it’s gonna be you stranded on the side of the road. 495 DMV side of the road to make matters worse! To my misfortune today, it “was” me. I was in a huge panick because unbeknownst to me, I had no roadside coverage through my insurance. Only helpful thing my insurance company did, was send me a link for Henry’s Wrecker Service. Travis showed up and drove my car and me, all the way back to Maryland from Virginia. I am beyond thankful and satisfied with the whole service. Travis, you’re awesome! If I’m ever unlucky enough to be stranded again, I’ll request you personally. Thanks a million!

Just going to copy this persons review because I absolutely have no words to describe this predatory establishment. A man left here crying, after 5 hrs of trying to get our car, we still weren't able to get it.
I am deeply disappointed by my experience with Henry’s Wrecker Service. Their actions and behavior demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and integrity. Not only did they show disregard for basic ethical standards, but their conduct also reflected an utter disrespect for others. It's rare to encounter an organization who operate with such disregard for basic decency, and unfortunately, my dealings with them will be remembered as a stark reminder of how low some individuals are willing to sink. In all my professional interactions, this one stands out as a deeply negative experience.May 27, 2025 -
The first tow truck company(RL Towing) communicated with me by text for about 60 minutes. Although the driver/dispatch had my exact location, they kept asking me the same questions over and over by text. They confirmed three times and then, in the end, deserted me! They will also be getting an appropriate review. I do not know how they have a 4.9 on Google reviews, but Franks a 3.0. Our Roadside Assistance then notified me that 'Frank's' tow truck driver(Mr. David Williams) was alerted. It provided relief and then shocked me at how fast he got there! He arrived 30 minutes before I expected him. He was all business at first, which is to be expected to ensure my vehicle was loaded and secured and then got me into the cab and out of harms way. I could tell by his speed and efficacy that he had most definitely loaded a few cars "in his time." Once we got into the cab, to proceed to the repair shop, he asked if I was ok and we had a nice chat on the ride. My respect for this man grew and grew the more we talked. He is a thorough guy, and you most definitely have a 5-star tow truck driver in him. Once he unloaded my vehicle and saw me start to walk home, he called to me and said, "Can I give you a ride home?" I gratefully accepted as I would have had to walk a couple miles. He thanked me for my business and would not even take a cash tip that I offered him. Lastly, he was under the weather and still pushing through for his employer. Also, Ms. Estella(my case manager) kept checking on me to ensure I was safe and satisfied and that my vehicle was safely brought to the location, which was a far tow. I will never be able to thank you all enough. This is the third time we have had to utilize roadside with American National over the years and each time you came through for us. I highly recommend American National and

They drive so dangerously on the road it’s actually scary. I saw someone in a flatbed truck tailgating and lane swapping on Leesburg Pike during rush hour. I wish I could have gotten a video but I didn’t dare get any closer in fear of the person behind the wheel. I understand that everyone gets frustrated in slow traffic but what I saw was genuinely terrifying. I cannot believe they would employ someone who’s willing to cause an accident or possibly kill someone with their driving!!

Alright so I called their dispatch and was able to get a wrecker out before the quoted time from dispatch. The driver was skilled, professional, and fast. Thomas, the driver, was able to get my beast of a truck out from a bottom floor apartment building garage with zero issue.

Horrendous! At the crash site, I said please can I keep some of my personal items in the car because I was there by myself in the rain, with all my belongings I could carry, injured from a head on collision from a SUV that hydroplaned from the oncoming lanes, went over the median and slammed into me and two other cars as well . They proceeded to put all the wet, nasty debris from the wreck inside my car on top of all my personal items. Rude and careless. Refused to take my car to their location in Reston that was closer to me and where the wreck occurred, instead took it to Falls Church. Hoping USAA will be able to handle it.....Ridiculous, antiquated requirements to get your car out of their lot.

"Last April, I had an unfortunate situation when my car was stolen, and Henry Towing was a true lifesaver. They were not only quick to respond but also extremely considerate and helpful during such a stressful time. The team went above and beyond, verifying my identity carefully when someone tried to impersonate me to retrieve my car. Thanks to their vigilance and professionalism, they prevented a potential disaster, and I was able to get my car back safely. I can't thank Henry Towing enough for their outstanding service and the peace of mind they provided. Highly recommend!"

A bunch of scammers. I was quoted $285. They tried to charge me $400. I get there and they tell me there’s another $100 for them to take the car off their property to the street because other tow truck company’s are not allowed on their property. However, they left my car on their property and my tow truck company had to go on their property to get it.

I wasn’t going to write a review but the attitude of the driver made me do it. When backing up from my parking space I hit the very far part of the tow truck that was parked with no lights blocking my way of passage. when i stepped out of my car a big guy came to me from a car across the truck in a very intimidating attitude. I’ve asked for his insurance information and he refused to provide it at same time of mocking me and threatening me saying that he works there. It was a retail parking space and he is not an employee of that institution. and forgot to mention that he was with a lady in the car across the truck during “working hours”
I wouldn’t hire this company just because of this employee.Jul 15, 2024 -
A very disturbing individual tried to my car while the permit was displayed. All my neighbors came out asking him to put my car down. He started cussing everyone even attempting to fight an old man. He attempted to run over one of my neighbors and even tried to hit my car as he was taking off.
This kind of individual should not work in this environment. I will make sure to spread this information. No one should use their services.Jan 06, 2024 -
I’ve used Henry’s in the past for towing of vehicles in my business fleet that break down, but not any longer. I’m tired of their rude and unprofessional staffing of their phone line and offices, and slow process to make payment and retrieve vehicles from their yard.
In reading through many of these google reviews, the writing is clearly on the wall for them, and they appear to be circling the bowl. They apparently have contracts with government agencies and they ought to be reigned in by public regulation and oversight. I’ll be making formal public complaints to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors & Fairfax County Dept of Consumer Affairs regarding their abysmal service and conduct.Apr 17, 2023 -
They towed my vehicle off of a Walmart parking lot that I was working night shift at came out to find my rental car gone. Show up later that day to get my rental car and they charged me $185 then get off the lot to find out that the person who towed the car drove the tow truck into the car and damaged the front bumper/radiator rendering it inoperable. This was a rental car and the wrecker service (emphasis on wrecker) acknowledged the damage caused but didn't return calls not make any attempt to fix the situation they caused. Even the dispatch lady seemed surprised that we weren't informed of the damage when we picked it up. We have since called multiple times to have this fixed and them take responsibility only to be put on hold or sent to a answering machine and then to never have them call back. It's a rental I have to return in this condition seriously. This place is shady and unless they steal your car and ransom it back to you (unavoidable sometimes) I'd avoid voluntarily using them for anything!!!!!! Beware - they are as bad as their reviews claim. Check out the photos I posted of the red Hyundai Accent.
