My experience with Midford Towing was beyond unprofessional and borderline predatory. What was supposed to be a simple roadside tow to my house turned into a full-blown nightmare all because the owner decided to file it as an accident tow without my consent. From there, it was all downhill.
Let me start by saying: the tow truck driver was solid he was respectful and did his job. But that’s the only good thing I can say. The dispatcher and especially the boss were complete nightmares. The boss is a money-hungry jerk who clearly has no idea what he’s doing and is just trying to milk as much as he can out of people and their insurance companies.
He gave Progressive AND me a false address for where my car was being held, which delayed the delivery of my car to my house. And since he filed it wrong from the start, he caused major confusion and tried to stick me with a $350 out-of-pocket bill. When I tried to retrieve my belongings from the car, I was denied access until storage fees were paid—even though the car should’ve never been in storage in the first place!
To make matters worse, my insurance paid them after 6 full days of my car being in their lot. And STILL, they shut down the storage yard the very next day, refusing to release my vehicle because they were demanding receipts. All because the boss failed to set up proper billing with Progressive.
Bottom line: this company is shady. The boss is disorganized, unprofessional, and driven purely by greed. I wouldn't trust Midford Towing with a bicycle, let alone a car. Save yourself the stress and stay far away
There were excellent. The level of knowledge rendered was impeccable. They were sent after another company could not assist us which left us stranded another two hours and then Strong Towing arrived. My car wheel bearing completely broke which left us unable to drive. They knew how to tow the car safely, helped with car info and delivered in a timely fashion and very professional. We are super grateful for their services.
The driver was polite and took great care of my car. The dispatcher was the problem. I was told at 7:30 am a tow truck would be there in 20 mins. I was finally picked up and delivered to the shop at 1:30 pm. Every time I called to say where is the truck it was will be there in five mins and then I would receive a text saying the driver was 20 mins out. That time would expire and I went through the same set of lies. Drivers are professional and excellent. The dispatcher was and is terrible with coordination, follow up, and giving accurate timing.
When having your vehicle towed, proper & constantly communication is everything. If you have no idea where your vehicle is and entrust a towing service to keep you updated on the whereabouts of your vehicle, it can be very frustrating making you feel anxious and helpless.
H&B did not work out for me and my family.
Unfortunately, multiple balls were dropped during the entire process. H&B seems to be yet another one of these new era companies that feel the customers should do all they can to help the service provider in order to get the service the customer needs. It’s totally unsatisfactory and a backwards way of business. Beyond communication fails ( and there were many), the H&B driver consistently showed an inability to follow simple instructions all the way up until my vehicle was finally delivered. I am thankful my vehicle was eventually able to make it to the location initially requested a day later, but there was just so many things that went wrong.
To spare you the details, I will leave a few takeaways H&B may possibly want to improve for future customers based on my experience:
• communication with the customer - it is important to communicate where the tow driver is and what the driver is doing before, during, and after the towed vehicle is transported.
• answering calls - every company has their policy on phones but I would suggest having someone for customers to talk to so the customer can be at ease on the whereabouts and actions pertaining to their vehicle.
• Tow truck drivers - if you trust your drivers to call the customers directly, be aware that the customer will reach out to them directly for updates as well as any type of information on what is happening. If they are unresponsive and give wrong information this can greatly impact your customer.
In closing, I hope that I was the only one that experienced this type of service and that’s very possible. I hope H&B can make the necessary adjustments.
They never sent the driver. I sat in my car for 4 hours on the side of the I-495 north. They constantly changed the pickup time. I had to reach out every 20 minutes just to get an update on what was going on. They are unreliable. The only redeemable factor was that the person who answered the phone was polite and tried to help.
Strong towing gave me the best towing experience I have ever had. He came very quickly and was very professional! Thank you for your help! I recommend them to anyone in the area.
Terrible service, inaccurate eta, left me stranded in a bad part of DC for 4 hours then proceeded to be disrespectful asking “what you know about a tow truck?” then asking if i need a tow or a jump. If i needed a jump i wouldn’t have waited 4 hours for a tow truck to come to me just to throw some cables on it. Also pulled my ALL WHEEL DRIVE car forward about 5 feet with the transmission in park. Come on.
Driver was very nice and very helpful; very knowledgeable about my vehicle. He took time to explain my options. Turn a stressful situation into a positive experience. May God bless him. Strong towing is very lucky to have him.
This towing company is an utter disaster. We ended up waiting over three hours from the time my insurance provider dispatched them to arrival time. The ETAs they gave were off, first 90-120 minutes, followed by 30-45, and lastly 20 minutes. The final time I called the receptionist he let me know the tow truck drivers had to stop and get gas and food. Extremely poor coordination and communication. Lastly, when they finally arrived they asked me if I had tried jumping the battery, which I replied yes, and that is not the problem. At which they replied, are you sure you need a tow? Quite sure I wouldn’t be waiting for three hours. The icing on the cake was when they could not figure out how to move the car from park to neutral manually. They tow cars everyday…smh, this is their job. Don’t use this company and they also go by the name H B towing. If that is who your insurance provider dispatches to tow your car, be prepared to waste your time.
I broke down around 2:30pm on Fairfax county parkway right before the Boudinot exit by 2:53 I had been assisted with towing through USAA. They immediately dispatched Saifo towing LLC, followed up at 3:07 with an estimated arrival of 90-120 min, I reached back out to USAA at 5:07 because I had heard nothing. At 5:21 I was assured by said company that someone was en route and would be an additional 45 minutes. At 6:08 I reached back out with no response. Then again at 6:26 and 6:29 NO RESPONSE. Without any communication from Safio towing LLC other than the initial call assuring me someone was in route to my location. At 6:48 I was notified that provider could no longer complete the job. At 7:00 I was notified that Strong Towing had been dispatched with an estimated arrival of 60-90 mins. At 7:59 Adam called me and assured me he was en route to get me. Even had me drop my location to ensure he was going to make it to my exact location. ( my man ) after patiently waiting Adam came to my rescue at 11:03 and completed the job that should have only taken a couple hours at most and not 8 freeeaakkkiiinnggg hours in the cold with no heat no thanks to SAFIO TOWING Adam safely delivered my car and got me back to my safe haven. THANK YOU ADAM! I want to thank your company for coming to my rescue and for hiring nice, understanding, good RELIABLE people like ADAM WHO COME THROUGH with CLEAR COMMUNICATION and efficiency thank you ADAM! I’d give 10 stars if I could and I highly recommend Strong towing! Thanks again Adam! Keep shining. ⭐
Great service. Showed up within the ETA window. They were friendly and helpful. I needed a tow on a very windy and cold day, they were quick and efficient and got me to my destination safely and in good timing. Thanks guys!
They showed up quite late - revised their ETA to be later three times. Please just be honest and realistic up front when at first you tell ppl you'll be there in 35 min but it then takes three times as long - esp s zero explanations given, unsat. //Aside, the two gentlemen who showed up with the truck were very professional and acted quickly, safely, and efficiently when they did arrive.
Also apart from that, the company name painted all over their tow truck did not match the name of the tow company that USAA gave me and that was texting me about this job. This appears like a criminal tow truck operator might be trying to steal my car - and yes, that does happen in this area. Makes you look sus even if you aren't, please fix. Thank you.
Communicative and reliable. Arrived within estimated time for tow service. But ended up providing a jump service since the first roadside assistance service failed to do so properly. Great guys, they informed me what I needed to do since they will no longer need to tow. Very flexible.
The tow truck driver arrived within the estimated timeframe. He assessed the situation quickly and reported his findings to his manager. His manager promptly called me to inform me of any potential risks in moving the vehicle off the train tracks. The tow driver explained the whole process thoroughly and was careful to avoid any additional damages. He was very knowledgeable and patient. Thanks for your help!
