I was in immediate need of a rack solution for my truck. Rack Attack was ready to meet my need with the perfect answer. They were quick and efficient in providing me the service that I needed.
Great Purchase, Poor Installation and Follow-Up.
I had a mixed experience with Rack Attack regarding my purchase of an RSI Smart Cap. The purchasing process was smooth, and the team helped me get a great price and made ordering easy.
However, the installation was problematic. They weren’t able to complete the wiring during the first install attempt, so I had to handle that myself. Additionally, when I picked up my truck on the second day, after I was told it would take one day only, I noticed damage to the seal and a poor attempt to fix it with what looked like a glue of some sort. Despite my concerns, I was assured by the employees and manager that it would be fine. Unfortunately, it leaked on my trip two weeks later.
I contacted them, and although the general manager Jay promised a follow-up, I never heard back from them for four months. I had to reach out again to get an appointment to fix the issue.
Overall, while the initial purchase was great, the installation and the lack of communication afterward were disappointing.
Rack attack is awesome!! I needed a very specific piece for my roof top tent and they had it. Gave me a great deal as well!!! Everyone should go here thank you!!
Walked in and needed a super random piece to mount a tent rack. Dude was so nice and had the exact piece we needed. Couldn’t have been an easier or better experience.
I ordered a rack that arrived boxed up but was damaged in shipping, not visible from the outside. Neither Rack Attack or the manufacturers fault. Both Rack Attack and the manufacturer went over and above to replace and look after me. I didn't even deal with the same staff members each time but the experience was the same, terrific customer service.
All around fantastic experience at Rack Attack DC! The showroom floor was spacious, well lit, clean, and, quite frankly, gorgeous. There was a small sitting area for customers having products installed on their vehicles.
Jay was eager to assist with my askew Yakima system. He quickly diagnosed the issue, checked for damages, and resolved the problem within 10 minutes of my arrival to the store. He provided follow on education about upkeep and care of the timberline towers, even though they were installed by a different dealer.
If you have been looking for a store to purchase car systems from, look no further. I plan to revisit for future Yakima roof rack installs! Thanks Jay!
Outstanding Service and Expertise — Perfect Camping Setup
I had a great experience getting the perfect camping setup thanks to Jay and the team. I came in with a large cargo box I’d purchased years ago and a sizable tent that needed to be strapped to the roof, and Jay helped me figure out exactly what kind of rack system would meet my family’s camping needs.
We worked through everything—rack weight limits, dimensions, and the right accessories for my specific vehicle. Jay was incredibly knowledgeable and patient throughout the process, even writing up detailed quotes and answering all my questions over email before I committed to buying anything.

Update - Added 2 stars, after my post was seen online the e-commerce and local folks were timely about getting my issue resolved.
Online Order Review - I bought direct for Rack Attack because the delivery date was faster than on Amazon. As it turns out the delivery date was off and would arrive several days after my moving date. I contacted the online number on the site and emailed a gent named Ed to explain no one would be at the address and it needed to be rerouted. He said he’d check with their e-commerce site, and never responded. I was able to pay extra out of pocket to reroute one package only to learn today, it was sent as two. When I called again, I was placed on hold by Ed for 10+ minutes now, and no solution in sight. Horrible customer service.

Jay was so incredibly helpful when we had a key snap in our Thule (which Rack Attack didn’t even install!). I brought our car in and the key was out in 10 minutes. Plus he had an extra key on hand that he gave us as a replacement—all gratis. Top notch service all around.

Incredible customer experience.
I lost my keys to my roof box and racks and had to get new ones fast. I called Rack Attack and they explained how easy it would be to come and test the master key set. The next morning, they helped me find the right key, got me new keys, and got me on my way in 10 minutes.
Definitely going to be back - staff are patient and very helpful. I had other questions about my racks that they helped address.

Went in for help unlocking a Thule kids bike seat (which is something they don’t even sell). These guys were nice enough to go through over 100 keys to help me find the right one.
While there I had time to check out the store great selection of racks and accessories at a great price. I am looking forward to going back and purchasing a roof rack from these guys soon.

First time in this store, or any store like it! I was looking for a bike rack solution for my car, and had some specific needs and questions.
Phone and email communication was immediate, and the day of evaluation and purchase, was smooth and efficient, and quite informative.
In my experience, the gear they sell has usually been the "add on" at a bike store or hunting or camping store, with limited stock and selection, and in some cases, expertise in more unique products.

Great experience. The team at Rack Attack DC went above and beyond to get my e-bike set up just perfect for our towing/Airstream adventures. Had no idea this company existed, but while checking REI online, I saw they were next door. They had the two items I wanted to compare in stock, had an incredible display, and an employee that new all of the details for each product.
I was impressed with the displays, variety of products, and knowledge provided by the sales associate.

I went in looking to add racks and a roof storage box for my VW and the Rack Attack team was right on it. They had all items needed in stock, and installed them on the spot. I was happy to wait the one hour since it meant not coming back - they have a nice wait area too. I have been really satisfied with the results. Took a trip to NC already and it went great. Highly recommend this spot!
Amazing Experience!! Came for a bike rack for the FJ. Staff came out and inspected my current roof rack and installed the new bike rack for me. Drove 2 hours for this store and will definitely be back for more Overlanding Gear! Hope to see them at the Expos this year!
