Only been twice, but both times it's been a total waste. The first was in the height of summer a few years back to get a windshield blocker. They recommended one entirely too large for my car. I gave it to a friend. I tried again the other day to get my windshield wipers replaced, but they don't do the replacement for free. Online the service fee looks to be $30-$50. That's ludicrous- every other auto parts store in the area does (this is the fault of NAPA, not the location). It's close to my job so would've been handy, but go to an advanced auto parts instead where they pay people to actually help you. Funny that every single register was staffed, with no one in the store, and apparently no one with the expertise or willingness to help me install the wipers.
I'm so disappointed with the C'ville Napa this morning. I wanted to support my local auto parts stores instead of buying everything online so I visited NAPA first on 12/28/21. We ordered two brake parts, anticipated to arrive before the end of the same week, although I'm never in a rush- mine are all long term restoration projects. Since I found out a snow storm was coming, I decided to grab the parts a day after their anticipated arrival, on 12/31/21. Only one part had arrived, again, no problem. I picked up the first pair of wheel brake repair kits only to find out they were the wrong size completely. I revisit the store a week after the other item was to arrive (holidays) and it was no where to be found, it is now 1/10/22. I asked for a full refund as they were unable to locate the correct parts (I already paid for 12/28). The would not refund me for the shipping of the item that was apparently never located nor shipped from wherever it was supposed to be. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME. NAPA can either refund me the remaining $17.99 I paid to have the one item shipped, or this review can stay up here permanently. The incompetence is overwhelming.
Got great service here when I needed a new battery for my truck. Technician helped me out with testing the battery and supplying a replacement. They didn't do the install, but did provide tools for the job.
Thank goodness they are still real auto parts stores in Charlottesville. They have plenty of staff and they know what they're talkin about unlike a couple of the other big box stores ...I won't mention any names...
WENT TO API N GOT MY CAR FIXED. THEY ARE ALWAYS GOOD TO ME. BEEN GOING THERE ABOUT 4 YRS NOW I GUESS. THEY HAVE BEEN HONEST N COME N TELL N SHOW ME IF THEY CAN WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY CAR. A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE TO HAVE AROUND WHEN I NEED THEM.
They were unable to help me install my headlight. Refered me to API which was next door. Whew, they were able to. Other than that, great place, great service.
These guys are pretty good over here at keeping a lot of parts in stock. Warehouse is in Richmond so anything needed to order is usually in within a day or so too. Service is decent and parts are good.
Everybody here goes above and beyond to help you find what you're looking for. If they cant get it, they probably dont make it. Or the manufacturer just sucks.
