What clients say about Falling Springs Falls in Hot Springs (VA)
I read that these falls were thermal but you can't get close enough to know for sure. There is a nice parking spot and walkable overlook area for photos. Wonderful Stop.
This is a nice, short stop right off of the road. The view of the falls is scenic. There are approximately 8 parking spaces, an info kiosk, a couple of picnic tables, and a 2 minute walk along a paved sidewalk to get to the overlook area. There are no hiking trails, and everything beyond the parking and overlook areas is fenced off.
Short stop right by the road, beautiful waterfall! it's unfortunate that you are unable to hike down there. There is one spot to see that doesn't have a 6 foot fence around it.
This place was absolutely stunning. You have to drive through the twisties to get there, but it's worth it. It's less than 15 minutes from the interstate. There are picnic tables near the parking area. It's only about a hundred feet walk to the observation deck. We were fortunate enough to visit during perfect weather before twilight. This was something we had to add to our trip from Virginia Beach to the Mountain Lake Lodge.
Beautiful waterfall on the side of the road! There is a small parking lot with a paved path to the overlook to see the waterfall. Easy access to an amazing sight!
Is there ever a bad picture of "the falls"...?
We pass by often but rarely make the time to stop.
The leaves are starting to turn as early fall looms ahead. It's going to be stunning in a few short weeks.
The parking and picnic area is fairly maintained and relatively clean for a roadside stop.
Take the time to stop!
A pullout right off the road that lets you see a 90 ft tall water fall from the top. There is no acess to the bottom of the waterfall. Just pull off the road a walk back a tenth of a mile for this gorgeous view. Thomas Jefferson once visited.
Nice waterfall. There is a parking facility next to it and a walkway towards the viewing area. We can only enjoy the view from there and not allowed to go nearby and it's a protected wildlife habitat.
The small parking lot is on the side of the road. Don't follow the signs to the city falling springs. The falls are easily visible from the overlook and the falls are fenced off with no. trespassing signs. Don't expect a swim there, you will be arrested. The pics show it all. Virginias tallest falls. 80 ft.
A very cool stop and view, however, there's no signage on how to view the waterfall. It should be self-explanatory since you can see the falls from the road, but you are more focused on the curve in the road than looking for the falls. If you stop and park, and walk to the left of the parking area to a fence. From there you walk in between the road and fence to the viewing area.

Beautiful place. Beautiful view. Very clean environment, but after these many years I would have thought they would have built steps so you can go down to it and not leave a footprint but still see it
I'm so glad I got to venture down the falls years ago, before they put up that horrendous fence. But I completely understand the need, due to stupidity at an all-time high.
A nice roadside waterfall 5 miles from Covington on a curvy mountain road. There is a small parking area with several picnic tables. The area is fenced off with signs saying to not trespass, but on this day 3 young men climbed down to get wet behind the waterfall. It was a rather cool fall day to splash in mountain spring water.
Stopped at the overlook several times over my lifetime (I was born in Bath County). I remember when there was just a pull off spot at the falls.
Now there's a nice parking area with a picnic table and a fenced off pathway to the overlook. All fenced off to prevent people from trying to hike down to the bottom of the cliff - way too dangerous for anyone but experienced mountain climbers to try that!

Note that back in pioneer days there were several waterfalls tumbling over that cliff. The streams have all been rerouted to the one waterfall.
And it's spectacular in winter when the huge icicles form and the sun hits them just right. Stunning.
It’s beautiful and worth the stop. It’s quick and right off the road. There’s a parking lot about a block away and a sidewalk lined with a guard rail for safety from traffic for you to walk over to catch a picture. Unfortunately, no hiking here. It’s blocked off all around for safety. I hope they open a trail, it would be awesome.
This area used to be more accessible to the public, but after years of environmental degradation, it is on its path back to a good natural place. Nevertheless, it is a very cool pull off from US-220/Sam Snead Highway, and is well-worth it, since it can be only two minutes to walk there, see it and maybe snap a pic or two, and continue on the road.
