I am currently using a family member’s truck while my car is in the shop, which requires me to pay for parking at my apartment complex. We paid for parking at 10:15 PM and the truck was towed at 10:32 PM, 17 minutes later. We have the receipt to prove this.
When my husband questioned the tow, the employee told him, “I don’t know why you’re still talking, your word means nothing to me.” That alone speaks volumes about the level of professionalism here.
We went in person and showed them the receipt proving the parking was paid for before the tow, and they still forced us to pay $180 to release the vehicle. Now we are being told we have to wait for a manager to “figure it out” all because they failed to do their job correctly in the first place.
To make matters worse, the truck was locked, yet when we got it back, the seat had been pushed all the way back into the car seats. I am 5’3” with two young children in car seats and would never have the seat positioned like that. This indicates the vehicle was entered without permission.
Between the wrongful tow, the disrespectful staff, the forced payment, and the apparent break-in, this company is completely unprofessional and unethical.
Moral of the story: If you enjoy surprise tows after paying for parking, this is the place. Everyone else: hide your car.Feb 17, 2026 -
Guy watched me get out the car and walk over to CVS. Didn’t know I couldn’t park there for CVS it’s the only parking I saw. We LOCKED eyes with each other. I was in for exactly 5 minutes and my car was gone. I realized the truck that was sitting right across the street with the guy staring at the parking lot I was in take it. Didn’t realize it was their practice to sit and watch for people. Disgusting company.

Vehicle was towed despite the payment was being made. Dispatch refused to let one of their tow cranes to bring back the vehicle even though acknowledged that they made a mistake on the phone. They are not taking responsibility to fix the issue they created in the first place, not professional. Had to go there pickup my own car myself by paying for Uber to give me a ride to their parking lot

This towing company is the worse company. The guy that was driving watch me pick up an item from target then parked and walked to the Giant, which was less than one minute away, and he proceeded to tow my car. I was devastated to see my car in the air, he just smiled and told me where to pick up my car. I will never forget how violated I felt. I wish I that I could give them less than one star, they are a horrible company.

Predatory company. Clearly the tow drivers get a kickback on every car they tow otherwise they wouldn't be stalking the streets, taking cars, and laughing and waving at unsuspecting victims (looking at you driver #5). And when many people do the commit the same "alleged violation" and only one person is affected. A black woman. I start to ask additional questions.. Towing is a necessary evil, but reveling in it is despicable. Happy Sunday.(oh there's a 30 dollar up charge on the weekends so I'm sure they love that extra $)
.Oh plus "management" isn't available on weekends, btw so good luck getting anyone to listen to how you were treated and the lies you were told. I
You should be held liable for the damage to my car. I will be reporting you.Nov 23, 2025 -
Today you took my car for no reason. You are a fraud and you took $180 from me for no reason and I will not give you my money back.

Rude, kept me on hold for 25 minutes and will price gauge you if given the chance. If you can avoid an interaction I would.

My car was towed stating that it was abandoned. How is it abandoned with unexpired VA tags? This place is a true rip off and I see I'm not the only one that has a problem with how they do business. Smh

My car was towed from our community despite the fact that it had a valid parking pass. When I came to retrieve my car, I asked the staff to check inside, since my pass had fallen from its usual hanging position. Without opening the door, the staff clearly saw the pass lying down and even took a picture of it. He confirmed that the pass was visible.
However, after speaking with his manager, I was told I would still be charged $150 (a $40 “discount” was applied). I explained that this was unfair and requested to speak directly with the manager, but I was told the manager was unavailable. I was threatened that if I did not pay immediately, my car would be held over the weekend and I would be charged even more. Under this pressure, I had no choice but to pay.
This situation was caused by negligence: the staff who towed my vehicle did not check the inside of the car for a pass, even though it was clearly visible. My pass is adhesive-free and sometimes falls, which is outside of my control, but it was still in the car.
In addition to the towing fee, I also had to pay $40 for Uber that day. I called again on Wednesday, September 17 and was promised a call back from the manager, but I have not received any response to date.Sep 19, 2025 -
Communication is key!! If you've changed policy, let your clients know. No email or phone call. Creating & thinking of "new" ideas how to generate revenue. Wow! Business must be slowing down.

Parked in front of an apartment building for a few minutes to grab something inside when there was no parking and when I came back out this...shall we say, "rude gentleman" was rushing to get my car hooked up to his truck. I asked him if I could pay him to put it down and he said "pick it up from the lot." with smirk on his face, and he took off as fast as possible. I walked to the lot because I had my dog with me, and on my way there I saw him driving recklessly back and forth, in a rush to get as many cars as he could. Cost me $180 to get my corolla back. On the bright side, they didn't break into it and steal my stuff, so at least there's that. The woman working the booth was polite.

Lowlife activity at this tow company…. Towed my friend’s car and went through the whole thing. I guess they didn’t find anything good enough to steal so they threw everything in her passenger seat leaving it a mess. Claimed “they don’t ever go in the car” OK.

Predatory towing in our neighborhood. My neighbor pulled out his car for a minute to get a child’s toy out of the garage. Was out of his car parked in a fire lane for less than a minute, within view of the car, and Dominion hooked up to him and asked for $50 to unhook. Drivers fly through neighborhood at high speeds with kids playing. Shameful behavior all around.

They towed my one day purchased car from my apartment parking lot on Sunday night and i went the next morning to pay and pick it up they charged me flat rate of 150$+ 30$ because it was Sunday + another 30$ because they towed it between 7pm and 8 am !? What a bullshit 60$ just because they decided to pick it up on Sunday around 11 pm its not my fault so i end up paying 210$

They towed my car once, and after I followed all the rules and renewed my tags online, they towed it again. When I called to sort it out, the staff was rude and unprofessional.
Under Virginia law, when you renew your vehicle registration online or by mail, you have a grace period while waiting for your new registration and stickers. Towing companies must honor this and cannot tow your vehicle just because you don’t have the physical sticker yet.
I believe my rights were violated, and I plan to report this towing company to the local police department for their unfair and possibly unlawful actions. Be careful with this company — they don’t seem to respect customers or the law.Jun 23, 2025 -
I had an unfortunate experience with my vehicle being towed from Newport Village in Alexandria at around 2:20 a.m.
I arrived before the tow truck left the property and respectfully begged the driver to release my Suburban. I even offered more than the legal drop fee, but he refused, was extremely rude, and towed my car anyway. I ended up paying $300 at the lot!
a frustrating situation, to say the least.
However, what happened next completely changed my view of Dominion Towing.
I reached out by email, and within a very short time, Brad Fleming, the Account Manager, personally contacted me. He was the definition of professionalism. He apologized sincerely for what happened, assured me that this is not the kind of service Dominion Towing stands for, and immediately took action. He told me they would issue a full refund, and even offered a gift card as a gesture of goodwill.
Brad followed up with his personal contact info, was extremely respectful and responsive, and made it clear that customer care matters to them. I can honestly say this was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had, especially considering how things started.
Mistakes can happen, but how a company responds makes all the difference.
Dominion Towing, through Brad Fleming, handled this like true professionals. I appreciate the way they took ownership, responded quickly, and resolved the issue with care and class.
I Highly recommend them.Jun 04, 2025 -
Somehow, after being towed by them my car is missing the gas cap cover flap and one of the headlights doesn’t work…no idea how they even managed to do that, but they must’ve abused the car pretty badly? Or just have something against gas cap covers? Truly, idk

Called because there was an unauthorized car parked in MY reserved spot. Got asked for pictures showing proof of my credentials also provided proof of the other car in my spot. And was told that I would have to contact my rental office on a Sunday to get them to reach out meanwhile I was told I would have to submit my license plate and park in a visitor spot located on the other side of the complex so they won’t tow MY car. This is completely a waste of time of the people who go through the process of getting proper credentials. They chose not to come out because they are more interested in getting paid from the office than providing the service they advertise on the property.

What a privilege it was to pay an outrageous sum to retrieve my own car! The pricing model is truly inspiring—charging luxury hotel rates for a dirt lot is pure genius. And the endless mystery fees (because unlocking a gate is clearly a high-skilled job) really make it special.
But the real brilliance? Perfecting a business that profits off hard-working people in tough situations. It takes a special kind of operation to turn desperation into dollars so efficiently.
And the customer service? Impeccable! Nothing says “we value you” like eye rolls and “That’s just the policy.”
If you enjoy overpaying for misery while lining the pockets of those who profit off misfortune, look no further. Otherwise, avoid this place like your bank account depends on it because it does.Mar 02, 2025 -
All tow yards are all the same, muddy soil, huge puddles, and overcharged tow amounts. Hopefully, their payment system works when using a card. They would rather you use cash. When cash is not an option. The system begins to work again. No inside protection for clients. you're almost standing in standing water outside of the service window. The lady was polite and wasn't upset for interrupting her Zelda game. She was understanding and calm.

Beware of this company! Brad (the manager) is extremely unprofessional. It is clear this company’s goal is to scam people and make a quick buck. The driver is creepy and goes around looking for cars to tow (while damaging the cars in the process by improperly towing different makes/models) so you’ll have to pay a LOT of $$ to get your vehicle back. Your car could be parked in your assigned parking spot in your apartment lot and they will tow you. Our vehicle was towed out of our spot and the driver hooked it up and very quickly pulled out and drove up the road. Said we can give him $250 cash right now and he’ll give it back or he’s taking it to the lot.

Negative stars if I could. The most unprofessional and rude staff, the manager is no different. While I called to see why they would tow my car from my residence all of the sudden, his fatuous comments were unnecessary and mind blowing. It’s a big money scheme for them and even when they are in the wrong and receive proof that they are wrong they continue to talk about payment and hang up on you.

Very disappointed with my experience. Went out of town halfway across the country only for my tracker to alert me that my car had been moved to Dominion Towing. I called to which they stated they “could not see the decal” when it was in fact in the car upon pick up. When I called the woman on the phone could not be more RUDE and unprofessional. She absolutely needs to find a new career path away from having to deal with customers because this isn’t for her and the other comments are in agreement. She refused to give me her name. She was short and snippy. Luckily the gentleman who worked with my friends while I was out of town to get my car back in my garage (obviously the decal was in the car or they wouldn’t have been able to re-park it there for me as the decal opens the garage) was very nice and pleasant. I did request the pictures of how they “couldn’t see the decal” and 48 hours later… I’m still waiting on this request. Seems fishy I have yet to get the pictures.

Thieves is a understatement. Try having a parking pass in the front windshield. Management clearly told us to park there and don't worry about it . Vehicle was too tall for parking garage. Although management said they will reimburse because they shouldn't of towed because where the vehicle was parked. Because 6 vehicles was parked there. But of course they decide to touch the business vehicle. Management never called them to touch vehicle. Criminals is more like it $320

ACTUAL THIEVES. I parked my car for 10 mins in a "2 hour zone" and went to the permitted location (Starbucks - which is clearly listed on the sign in the picture) at Hoffman Center in ALX. Dominion stole $180 after I legally parked and entered the Starbucks (again no more than 10 mins). Will be having my bank cancel the transaction for theft.

I always call this towing company because you guys are “in charge” on towing in my neighborhood. But ever since COVID hit you guys use any excuse and I mean ANY EXCUSE to not come. I’ve had these annoying neighbors who park right in front of my house almost everyday. Right in front of my driveway and every time I call you guys hit me with “because of COVID .. “ cars don’t get COVID last time I checked. I live in Les Dorson Ln in Alexandria and you guys literally never come. This car that I’ve attached below is always here in fact I took this picture THIS MORNING after calling and you guys declined to move it. I can’t get into my driveway because of them. We have a huge SUV so we need room to drive into our own driveway. Ridiculous. Do your job.

I understand it’s a towing company and it’s just not a fun experience over all, but the lady who worked early Monday March 16 2020, 3 am was absolutely one of the most foul human-beings I’ve ever encountered. Slammed the sliding window in my face, cussed at me a couple times, refused to give me her name and even flicked me off. Just foul. I’m usually fairly forgiving with people but this lady absolutely deserves all the back lash she gets. There’s a reason they interact with people through a sliding window with no door access to avoid people from breaking their necks...
Any way if your vehicle gets towed to this location, I’m praying for you, and hope you have a better experience than I did!Mar 16, 2020 -
You will never ever see a 5star review for a person whose vehicle was towed. However I was illegally parked and was wrong. No I didn't want to give up 160.00 bucks. But these guys were professional and my property was not damaged in anyway. I hope that we never have to meet again. But you guys have a job to do. Tell Phil hello!
