A1 Towing WRONGFULLY towed my vehicle when I had a valid permit. I have emailed them proof of their mistake, but I have not gotten my money back yet. It seems like I'm not the only person this has happened to.

I've been trying to get a manager to contact me for WEEKS for the damage they caused to my rear braking system when they hooked up my car. Whoever hooked my car up caused about $1,600 worth in damages and having to get a rental car. I've sent numerous emails, called multiple times. And not one reply.

I called the company today about my reserved parking spot because someone who doesn’t respect the rules parked in it. It took them an hour to respond, and the employee drove around the entire apartment complex while I waited by my car. When he finally arrived, the person who parked in my spot told him that it was her car. Instead of charging her, he gave her the car back. I don't understand why he didn't do his job and let her leave without her car, especially since I pay a lot of money for a reserved parking spot. It's really frustrating.

They towed my car, and I asked for the name of the man I was talking to on the phone, and he suddenly started cursing at me so I wouldn't tell him his name. They steal people's money and treat them like this. It was one of the most unpleasant situations I've ever experienced. It made me understand people who go crazy.

Last night, my sisters came to my apartment, and I always pay for their parking on Pango. She texted me at 7:20pm to come open the door. When she went to leave, we found her car had been towed at 7:22pm, so as soon as she got out of the car, they towed her. Also, when we went to pick up her car, a tow truck was intimating us by honking at us and parking right near my car as we were trying to pay for her car, and making it seem like he was going to tow my car, (AS I WAS TRYING TO GET MY SISTERS CAR), two young women in the middle of the night. The truck plate is 2638 TW. I would love for management to contact me as this was ridiculous. Predatory company trying to make a quick buck 2 minutes after my sister parked her car. Funny thing is, I was paying for PANGO as my sister's car was sitting in a towing yard.

This company is extremely predatory. They had claims that my visitor was parked incorrectly and said they were towed from a TOTALLY incorrect building thats across the street. They staffing was incredibly rude and making little comments and refused to print any documentation of the event because it would “take too long if they printed for people” highly recommend to document everything and file reports when needed against this company. They also said the car was towed at 11 pm yet air tag proof shows when the car was towed around 3 am. They just want money and make rude comments that we should follow the protocols that our apartment states… we do and we still get towed. The company doesn’t care and will continue to do predatory behavior like this and i hope apartment complexes and cities stop using this company.

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST A1 TOWING This is hands-down the most predatory, scam-filled, and dishonest company I’ve ever had to deal with. A1 Towing has towed my car TEN times—including this morning—always coming up with some bogus excuse to take people’s vehicles. Their entire operation is built on extortion, deception, and harassment of the community. They have been reported to the police multiple times for their unlawful actions, yet they continue to circle like vultures. These so-called “employees” are nothing more than sewer rats who take advantage of hardworking people, delivery drivers, and even residents. I have personally witnessed them towing UberEats and DoorDash drivers who were only parked for a few minutes to make a delivery. They then demand cash to drop the vehicle on the spot—pure extortion in broad daylight. The owner of this company should be investigated and held accountable for the countless victims they’ve ripped off. Skyline Towers should be ashamed of doing business with such low-class scammers who prey on residents and guests. If you live here or visit this area, BEWARE. Document everything, record them on video, and call the police whenever possible. The more evidence against them, the fewer people will get robbed by their shady “business practices.” Bottom line: A1 Towing is not a towing service—they are legalized car thieves. Avoid them at all costs and warn others before they become the next victim.

Very bad company and people. Towed the car with the sticker in it. Additionally, they don't know how to tow cars so damaged my car during a tow because he pulled the car while the hand brake is up without understanding his job

My car was illegally towed from the same building I’ve lived for the last 2 years with that car!! My parking permit is WHERE MY LEASING OFFICE TOLD ME TO PUT IT!! I had my sun screens up, which covered allegedly the sticker. But how is it explained that the previous 3 nights that it was in that space with the same shades up NOT towed then? Or has NEVER been towed over the past 2 years I’ve been at this property with this car, with those same sun shades up. This is a predatory company!!!!

These guys are ruthless. I’ve watched them tow a car with a baby still inside, and another while the driver was literally sitting in it. They used to circle apartment complexes like vultures, snatching cars nonstop. I even caught them on video breaking into vehicles just to disable the auto-brake before hauling them off. STAY FAR AWAY FROM PENTAGON CITY MALL , they’re waiting to tow the second you turn your back.

Rude and unprofessional! For the record, they did not tow my car. I called them for information and the person who answered was rude and short with me. I asked a simple question about their service and the employee literally seemed bothered by my phone call, as if their company exists for something other than customer service. Before I could even finish asking my second question, they hung up the phone on me. Extremely horrible customer service!! Foxchase of Alexandria needs to cut ties with them ASAP!

This has to be the most unprofessional, unknowledgeable, downright disgusting tow company I’ve ever visited. Predatory practices, imaginary “rules”, and ghost charges…I’m sure they make a killing from all the gotcha-schemes they are running. Customer DIS-service is abundant, especially the lady who handles the phones (she’s just awful). This place is as garbage as it looks. Pray that your car gets towed across the street because at least they will give you proper information.

Even as a resident of the apartment complex with a valid parking sticker, I'm not safe from them. If you get towed by this business, I'd recommend calling ahead and ask how much you'll have to pay because if your fee is $350 or more, they WON'T accept credit or debit. So bring cash beforehand. If you've been towed and gone through the headaches, I sympathize with you.

Always see them by Pentagon City mall lurking, waiting for someone to park in the no parking area to tow their vehicle. I've seen many delivery drivers who park outside the mall to pick up orders, and when they run inside the tow truck driver tows their car the second they step away.

My car was towed despite my paying for parking on the Pango app. I showed the A1 staff member at the window that I had proof of paying and he said “that’s not my problem”. I was with my 1 year old and could not go anywhere without his car seat, so I agreed to pay to get him out of the heat. I asked the staff member if he can at least give me a discount, he said “ I’m not the owner.” I asked to speak with the owner, he said “we don’t connect customers to the owner. I agreed to pay $230.00 for a mistake on their end. I received no compassion and felt as though my car was being held for ransom. I was appalled by the shady business tactics and the lack of humanity I experienced. Avoid this shady place by any means, and be careful with pango parking, they offered no assistance after I was robbed. Shame on you A1-Towing.

Towed my vehicle even though I had an active permit through park mobile for the next 12+hrs at my apartments lot. Showed them the live meter that was still running and they still wouldn’t release the vehicle - predatory towing company with terrible business practices and miserable employees. Hope their racket gets investigated by authorities.

I had a terrible experience with this towing company. My friend’s car was towed on my apartments property IN visitors parking, within two minutes of us paying for the meter — yes, literally TWO minutes. We have the timestamp to prove it. This is NOTHING short of predatory behavior. There was absolutely no grace period, no warning, no opportunity for correction — just immediate action clearly designed to maximize profit rather than serve the community fairly. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and dismissive when we tried to ask questions. There was no transparency in the process, and the fees were outrageous for the short time the car was gone. It felt like a coordinated trap rather than a legitimate towing operation. I understand rules are rules, but this was handled with zero decency or professionalism. To tow a car that followed the PROPER channels of parking all for a 2 minute delay is absolutely disgusting. Avoid this company at all costs, and businesses that partner with them should seriously reconsider.

My car should have never been towed, but it was not the towing company's fault. I was staying at a hotel as an out of town guest. My car was towed in the middle of the night while we were asleep. I called A-1 first thing in the morning, they answered my call and gave me the address to pick up my car. I arrived at 8:30am to retrieve my car. This seems to be a big business around here. There was a line of other people waiting to pick up their cars as well. WARNING to anyone staying in Alexandria. I think it is absolutely a money grab. The person in the office was efficient at getting my paperwork processed. The man in the lot found my car quickly and was pleasant. He even said "sorry for meeting you under these circumstances, hope you have a better day". I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Not a great start to my day but could have been worse I suppose.

I was making a delivery this evening at Crystal Towers (1600 Eads) in Arlington and I was gone for literally less than 10 min when A1 Towing towed my car. Since this is the first time I've been towed in 10 years I'm not gonna go on a full tangent, but I will say how it's a tough pill to swallow when you've been working hard all day only for a towing company to come along and basically wipe out your entire days worth of earnings not to mention I had to pay an extra $20 in order to Uber to the lot which was an astonishing 20 min away! This incident caused me to deliver my other 3 orders that I still had in the car past their delivery window, but this did not discourage one of the persons whom I was delivering to from giving me the biggest tip I'd ever received after hearing about my predicament and my determination to deliver their order without any further delay. I don't write reviews unless its for good reason... overall I thought the nature of the tow was a bit predatory, note I'm not the overreacting type, and it was pretty petty to say the least. Granted I was parked in a future resident parking spot a few minutes before 9pm, and yet how would the tow truck driver know what my business was there to begin with; I could've been on a tour. Even the management team, who was in fact still on-site at the building and whom I had the pleasure of speaking with was disgusted, their words, to hear about this incident because apparently this wasn't the first time you've towed a delivery driver's vehicle in the section I was parked in before; which is where we're instructed to park at instead of the rideshare dropoff area because we're instructed to go upstairs to deliver the orders to the apartments rather than drop them off at the front desk. If I were you guys, I would consider giving the management team a call because they told me other incidents like this aren't sitting well with them or the tenants who pay to have their groceries/food delivered to them. It discourages delivery driver's (Uber, Instacart, Shipt, Grubhub, etc) from accepting orders that are to be delivered there, and as a representative of one of these aforementioned companies I can confidently tell you that the majority of us keep tabs on all the places to deliver to and not to deliver to based on situations like this. To A1 towing, I wish you the best of luck in your business endeavors. Seems like there's a pattern in these online reviews but not a lot of changes being made to resolve them. To the driver who towed my car, I can respect a hard working man/woman for doing their job but what I can't respect are people who literally target others for personal gain. I pray that wasn't your intent and God Bless you regardless!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Spoke with Sara and they could not have been ruder - hung up on me and gave us an attitude throughout the entire call. Manager won’t be there until Monday. Additionally, they towed a car that had every right to be there with a visitor pass clearly displayed. Absolutely terrible service and representatives. Highway robbery. Despicable company.

I hate the fact that my car was towed but my parking tag was misplaced so they had a right to tow it. I called, they answered, gave me their address. I drove over, walked up, they answered my questions on how it was towed and showed me the 50 pictures they took of the vehicle before and after towing to alleviate concerns on vehicle damage. I was in and out of the place in 5 minutes. It was around $200. Which is consistent with my online research for a tow. To be fair to the towing company, they did their service properly. Hope to never be back though.

Reckless unprofessional human beings practicing predatory towing. Towed my car from my apartment and caused damages to the underbody. When I picked up my car same day, my front tires were sitting on top of stacked concrete with the ground underneath wet. They also towed and dropped off someone’s SUV in their lot in the most reckless manner. I’ll be reporting this damage to Arlington County, I don’t know how they are still in business.

I had my car towed by this company and I noticed that my car had some damage. I was told to send my receipt and pictures to the manager by email. I also left my phone number just in case they needed to call me. I never received anything back and when I called the company they told me to send another email and to wait a few weeks. I expressed that I travel for work and my contract was going to be up within a few weeks, I was told that there’s nothing they can do. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t heard anything back. I did get my car fixed but I would like to be reimbursed for the damages they caused. This company is very unprofessional, and as far as damage they just ignore you.

HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL AND INSENSITIVE. The attendant insulted meCalled this morning because my truck had been towed mistakenly last night from my car apartment complex i o ly park their for 20 mi because i came home late. Representative was a female with an extremely unprofessional and short tone and very vulgar. Representative would not allow me to ask my second inquiry and stated I could just come by at any time. I repeatedly asked the representative about the billing aspect to ensure no discrepancies would be had at the time of pick up. She clearly was having a bad day and is unfit to work the phone lines when dealing with customers especially as a first time. Since this incident a towing guy broke some parts of my car I had spoken with General manager Roy about this. He had said he will be rresponsable for the damages of my vehicle. But it's been 4 months and I haven't hear from him I had send him emails and voice mails. I know he tells his employees to say that he's not in the office. He hide from people like me because he doesn't want to take responsibility from the damages that he's employees make. They should be rresponsable for their actions. This is a bad towing company. They still have rude employees. Specially Roy de General Manager.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. However, since that's not an option, I'll settle for one star to share my experience. I encountered horrible customer service and a complete lack of professionalism that I cannot overlook. Recently, I was towed for parking near the visitor parking instead of in it. Despite the app indicating available spots, they were nowhere to be found, so I parked alongside, as I’ve done many times without issue, and paid for my hours. Mind you, I live there; I just don't have the stickers to be parked in the parking lot, so I must settle to pay for parking. This time, however, I faced towing, completely contrary to the rules. To make matters worse, the individual who handled my vehicle retrieval was unhelpful and confrontational. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, he responded with an attitude and grew increasingly angry when I explained my situation. Stated that "he didn't care, not my fault, and that they did their job," which is funny because before I left to retrieve my vehicle, there were five vehicles parked in the visitor parking spots even though I was still paying for one. Clearly showing they don't. He refused to assist me, and his insistence on paying the $230 fine was frustrating, not to mention the additional $10 I had to pay to be dropped at the area and the $11 I still had to shell out for parking. This experience has left me thoroughly dissatisfied, and it’s abundantly clear that their customer service is in dire need of improvement. On top of that, my car now squeaks every time I drive or turn the steering wheel. I can't do anything about it because I have no evidence that it was due to the towing.

It’s 4am and I came with friends to pick up their car, shoutout George and Frank. Still had to pay the minimum fee but for being a boisterous customer they handled me well and got me out of there and on the way home within 10mins or less. Being a tow guy sucks but for overnight workers they were great to deal with. (Friends didn’t have a parking pass and didn’t park in visitors, completely valid tow)

Property Managers and Landlords, BEWARE of this company before using them for your properties!!! They are professional scammers! My vehicle was towed from my apartment garage on Sunday, April 13 for an expired state inspection sticker. According to the Code of Virginia 46.2-1231, the tow operator must post a written notice to the vehicle 48 prior to towing AND provide the landlord with written notice. If both of these actions are not taken, the tow operator must reimburse the vehicle owner the charges. There was no notice posted to my vehicle on Friday, April 11 which would be 48 prior to towing. I contacted my leasing office and they did confirm that the towing company sent them written notification of the violation on March 28 BUT there was no notice posted to my vehicle! I went to the tow place on Vine St in Alexandria and notified them of this, they proceeded to show me pictures of the bright neon green STICKER notice posted to the window on my driver side door on March 28. I have driven my car so many times since that date and there was never a notice there!!! And guess what, when I picked up my vehicle there was still no notice on my driver side window as their picture showed! These people are scammers! They posted the notice to my vehicle, took a picture of it, and then removed the notice to give them cause to tow my vehicle! I am going to expose these people! These people are extremely rude, will laugh in your face, and in the end you need your vehicle so you end up paying. These people need to be stopped! So landlords and property management owners, I am imploring you to look into this company before allowing them to tow vehicles from your properties. Look at all of these reviews on Google, people are not making this up and something has to be done about this company.

I had a horrible and completely unjustified experience with A1 towing. This company towed my car without any legal grounds while I was making a quick Uber Eats delivery at North Hampton Place apartments. They do not even have a contract with the real estate management, meaning they had no right to tow my car in the first place. I parked my car for only 3 to 4 minutes to drop off food at the front desk. Since I needed to use the restroom, I was away briefly. When I returned, I found that the tow truck driver had already lifted my car and was securing it. I immediately explained that I was just making a delivery and asked where the no-parking sign was, but he completely ignored me and continued towing my vehicle without hesitation. I then went back inside to check with the front desk, and they confirmed that the towing company was not authorized to remove vehicles unless requested by the building management—which they had not done. Despite this, I still had to go retrieve my car from the impound lot, wasting my time and money on an unnecessary tow. The driver never apologized for his mistake or showed any concern for the inconvenience he caused. This company is clearly engaging in predatory and illegal towing practices, scamming innocent drivers. They should be held accountable for their actions. If you're in the area, beware of this company and their unethical behavior. If I could give them zero stars, I would!

My wife was in front of Inova with her hazard lights on to pick up something and the tow driving who appeared to be high as a kite even smelled like weed. He tried to tow her vehicle because she stopped there for about a minute. After she paid the $10 to release the vehicle, Amazon and UPS dropped off packages, no where was the weed man to try and tow them. This was a blatant quick cash grab. Update: Just spoke to someone at A-1 Towing & Recovery, they were trying to defend the issue, by saying I said something I did not. They said they don't tow from inova and then asked me which location, if they don't tow from Inova, it would not matter which location. Shady.

my car was towed and was severely damaged during the process unfortunately after numerous attempts of trying to reach out to the so called owner ( ROY ) as I told but one thief companies employee has not responded in regards to my situation. I am absolutely lost’d for words how unprofessional, dishonest and disrespectful these people are to hard working individuals and their properties. I most definitely will be pursuing further charges against this organization indefinitely… unbelievable
