Not a great experience. Estimate was over $1,200 to change two batteries. Had it done properly and professionally for $600. Had to pay $175 for them to do a diagnostic—when I already told them what the problem was, my batteries were low. Guys sounded like they knew what they were doing—so if you don’t mind spending extra, go ahead. But unfortunately can’t recommend because I certainly felt like it was an attempt to get much more than the work was worth. I also want to add, the didn’t put my truck back together properly. The bolts were loose, and the interior was pulled apart. I had to have the next guy fix it.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience at Georgetown Auto was so outstanding that I felt it deserved one.
I brought my 2016 Audi S5 in for emergency maintenance, and to my surprise, not only was the turnaround quick, but the service itself was exceptional. Bobby and his team went above and beyond, keeping me informed every step of the way, making sure all my concerns were addressed, and treating me like more than just another customer.
The prices were fair, the staff was genuinely friendly, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. It’s rare to find a shop that delivers both quality work and excellent customer care, but Georgetown Auto truly does. I’ll definitely be back for all my future maintenance needs.
Took my 2011 Mazda CX 9 in for a passenger side replacement for the window motor and assembly. I asked them to take a look at all the various fluids in the vehicle. They did a full inspection and provided me with the price for the window repair, flushing the brake fluid, radiator fluid and power steering fluid before starting any work. The price provided for all of these repairs, and the fact that it would all be completed in the same day was very very fair. This was my first time at Georgetown auto repair and it will not be the last time. They were very helpful and fair in their pricing. I would recommend them for future repairs.
Bobby and his team are the most knowledgeable and ethical mechanics I’ve met. Everyone is dealership-trained, and they can diagnose problems that stump other shops. Plus, Bobby takes pictures of their work and takes the time to explain everything and lay out your options. His prices are competitive, and he is honest and fair. I recommend Georgetown Auto Service to anyone who cares about their car.
Enough cant be said for the service and expertise that Georgetown Auto has been providing me and my family for years. They are quick, knowledgeable and to the point with your car. Had a dealer recall that I didn't even know about and it saved me $1000's in labor and parts. I highly recommend G-town Auto! Wouldn't trust anyone else with our cars, only Bobby and his team!
Couldn't go to their shop because my car was broke down and I called them see if they could give me an estimate over the phone before I took the car. They said they would, they took down my information and said they would get back to me the next day. They never got back to me, it's been a week and a half. I decided to do the work on my own. My review is just based on this experience, they might be good mechanics, just had a bad experience.
Really great shop. They diagnosed the problem quickly and had my water pump replaced in a day. The work comes with a 1 year/12,000 mike warranty, meaning they stand by what they do. They text/email detailed quotes and receipts so there are no hidden charges. Would highly recommend coming here for excellent and honest car repairs.
My water pump broke as I was on the highway In Alexandria Va to return to Wingate NC. Came across a guy driving a towing truck who provided towing for me, but also recommended me to Bobby to get my fixed. I called Bobby, let me add that this is a Sunday afternoon. I spoke to him and he was a man of his word. He asked me to leave a note in my car explaining the situation and my number and he would have his guys work on my car first thing Monday morning. The shop called me early that Monday morning around 7:30am. I missed the call but I returned it and was able to get the final diagnosis. My car was fixed by 6pm Monday afternoon. Great customer service and reliable service. Very honest and knowledgeable about the service he provides. Thanks again Bobby to you and your staff at Georgetown Auto Service!
I can’t say enough great things about Georgetown Auto. These guys have done a great job taking care of my high mileage Toyota 4Runner at a great price as well… Five stars!
Honest, trustworthy, transparent, affordable, and personable. I had a recent splash shield repair underneath my car, which was dragging quite bad while driving. (First time here)- Called in the morning and advised they could get me in right away. Although the repair only took less than an hour, you could tell right away they were a good shop. Bobby was extremely transparent, taking me to the garage and showing me what the problem was, then showed me their remedy afterwards, asking me for approval. Out of the auto shops I've experienced, this one was on point, one of the best! Bobby, Carlos, John, Emilio, and the rest of the staff I interacted with, were all great. Not one negative thing comes to mind. I wish all auto shops ran like Georgetown Auto. I definitely plan to return, if I ever have another vehicle problem in the future.
My experience at Georgetown Auto was incredible. Bobby explained exactly what was happening with my car (several times because I am far from a car expert), gave me detailed options and potential outcomes, and saved my beloved Subaru. I would highly recommend going here for whatever car services you may need.
Had an issue with my battery. Called them after hours and they were responsive, got me slated for an appointment the next day. Brought the vehicle in the next day and they were prompt, respectful, and clear with what they were doing and why they were doing it. Charged reasonable labor costs and ran additional tests at my request.
Will definitely be coming back.
Amazing service rendered by Carlos and team I realised that the lower grille of my car was cracked and the dealership was not helpful in providing repair assistance. Carlos was quick with his email replies and displayed proactiveness in his service. The team did not charge me extra labour cost despite the fact that more work needed to be done to replace my grille. They even helped me to install a license plate bracket I brought!
10/10 and highly recommended.
It’s hard to find shops as good as Georgetown Auto. I brought in my Maserati, which had a severe misfire, and Bobby and the guys were exceptional.
They explained all of my options, including a manufacturer recall that would've been fixed by the dealer for free, and didn’t throw parts at my car, even though it would have been easier and more profitable for them to do so. They even went above and beyond by buying specialty tools to work on my car at no extra cost to me.
I’ve been a client of Georgetown Auto “GA” for the past year to do routine maintenances for my car (oil changes). Before I start this review, I want to say that the labor team does a great job on the actual quality of work that they do.
Recently, I decided to take my vehicle to the shop for a strut problem I had. GA originally found out that my strut needed replacement and told me that the original $175 inspection would be included into the repair cost that I would soon be told of. Bobby (the owner) then attempted to order my parts but then he told me that only a specific set of struts was suitable, and they ended up costing around $300 more. Unable to pay this, I decided to involve my insurance company Geico to help cover the expenses because it was beginning to be to expensive for me.
What came next was a truly unprofessional experience I received from Bobby, the owner. My insurance adjuster came to Bobby to choose which strut would officially be ordered for my car and as well finalize the invoice. The new invoice Bobby sent was for $2900 which was $1000 more than the original invoice. It turns out Bobby was trying to charge me my $1,000 deductible with Geico on top of my original repairs. It took me over a week and a half of phone calls back and forth with Bobby where he was incredibly condescending, rude, arrogant and quite frankly extremely loud and talked over me throughout my calls to actually have Bobby apologize. Bobby also constantly called the parts my insurance was ordering junkyard parts and took the time to tell me that he held no liability for the parts after he completed the repairs during calls which were completing unrelated. To top it off, when I came to pay my final invoice for my car as it was ready for pickup I found out Bobby decided to charge me for the $150 inspection on top of my repairs. When I confronted him on that, he told me the invoice was finalized and that that’s not his problem because the insurance had made that invoice for him which I felt like was a cop out.
Couple other issues:
-adjuster told me Bobby was insisting on buying more expensive struts because on the backend the shop recieves more money by buying those parts (perhaps not true but still)
- Bobby insinuated at some point after arguing over the false deductible charge that I didn’t want to pay him for his services and that he would halt all repairs until I could agree to pay the $1000 extra charge

If the owner just had patience and listened to his clients then the majority of these issues would’ve been resolved far earlier. Better communication!
Tl:dr If you want to use insurance and work with Georgetown Auto DONT DO IT! Nice staff, owner needs to work on patience and listening skills. Won’t come back.
As a young female, getting any repairs done to my car is very intimidating and I always worry I will be overpriced or “tricked” into services. At Georgetown Auto Services, they called me when they figured out what was wrong, sent pictures to my email of the damaged part, actually TOLD me the price ahead of time, and ASKED permission to go ahead and do the repairs. I never experienced that before and would definitely feel confident coming back to them in the future. Thank you!
My second time coming here for car trouble. I thought my alternator had failed; the mechanic tested it and found that the battery was almost completely bad. They replaced the battery and everything passed their tests. They communicate really well by sending photos and a summary of what they find by email, then calling you. They give you a quote before doing the work. They do not push you into doing repairs that are not immediately needed, though they bring them to your attention. I recommend them.
I want to thank Bobby and the senior mechanics at the shop for their hard work and professional experience. I bought my car twice for service and they did an excellent job finding the issue. The vehicle has a unique engine and parts were hard to find but they informed me of every option to fix the issue. They kept me updated with pictures of the repairs and informed me of any other issues. I would definitely recommend them for future auto service. Thanks
One of the best mechanics in the DMV area. After moving to the area two years ago, I wanted to find an honest mechanic who could help me maintain and repair my vehicle. George Town Auto was the establishment that was able to achieve everything I needed. Super insightful when inspecting your vehicle and offers recommendations to further maintain the longevity of your vehicle. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone who wants their vehicle to be repaired or just a simple oil change!
Also, they have two awesome African Grey parrots and a Macaw (rest in peace) that are entertaining to watch.
Disastrous Experience with Georgetown Auto
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with George town Auto that left my wallet $900 lighter with nothing to show for it. It started when my car was having issues accelerating past 40 miles per hour. The issue led me to seek their services, and I must say, it has been nothing short of a nightmare.
First, they diagnosed the problem, which seemed reasonable. They identified a part that needed replacement and quoted me a staggering $900 for the repair. Considering the urgency and the trust I had in their expertise (I've worked with them other times before with no issue), I agreed to the exorbitant cost.
However, my dismay didn't end there. After forking out $900, I was excited to get back on the road, only to discover that my car still refused to accelerate past 40 miles per hour. The very issue I had paid a small fortune to fix remained unresolved.
When I confronted the auto repair shop about this blatant oversight, they nonchalantly informed me that there might be more issues at play. Apparently, they had not thoroughly inspected my vehicle before jumping to conclusions about the problem, and they were now asking for an additional $700 to address the "new" issue they had discovered.
At this point, I couldn't help but feel taken advantage of. I assumed when I contacted them to fix the repair they would have taken the car back and fixed the problem without additional payment. Their lack of professionalism, competence, and transparency throughout this ordeal has left me deeply dissatisfied. It's one thing to make an honest mistake, but quite another to charge a customer a substantial sum without ensuring that the initial problem was even fixed.
In summary, my experience with this auto repair shop has been nothing short of a disaster. I am left with a car that's still malfunctioning, a financial burden that keeps growing, and a severe lack of confidence in their abilities. I would strongly caution anyone considering their services to think twice and explore alternative options that value honesty, competence, and customer satisfaction. I'd give them zero stars if I could, but unfortunately the minimum is one.
I've taken several cars to Georgetown Auto since 2016. They are always communicative and honest, do an excellent job assessing any problems, and have very reasonable prices. I took my car in this week, asking them to replace the front and rear brake pads based on my uninformed assessment. They test drove it and took it into the shop and said I still had at least another six months of use so I should come back then, rather than spend the extra money right now. That might be the first time I've gone to a mechanic and they told me not to spend money. Lastly, they've had the same group working on cars at the shop since at least 2016. I cannot recommend Georgetown Auto enough.

This is all around a great shop. In all my experiences the price has been more than fair, while the staff has been very honest and helpful. They also don’t try to sell me on more than I need, which is necessary to build trust with any shop. I recently took my car to Georgetown Auto Service because I was told I needed to replace my axle and brakes. From the moment I walked in the door, Bobby was friendly and professional. He not only took the time to explain what services my car needed and why, but he took me underneath my car and showed me what to look for. Additionally, he provided me with a detailed estimate of the cost, so there were absolutely no surprises!

I received outstanding service from the owner, Bobby, and a mechanic who had worked at the shop for years. My car’s check engine light came on while I was in DC for the weekend and I was able to bring it to the shop on a Sunday. They took care of the issue and topped off my oil free of charge. Can’t recommend this place highly enough
Excellent shop from top to bottom. Carlos took care of me; the whole process from placing the initial phone call to walking out with my car's tire plugged took less than one hour. Absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this shop..even for high end cars.
Great customer service and they take care of everything for you. I dropped my car off after hours and put my key in the drop box, and everything was taken care of for me. They are very flexible and were even willing to communicate with me through email because I couldn’t take calls at work. When I did call, Bobby and Roberto were so wonderful and were willing to work with me on everything I needed done. Everything I needed did get done and was done the right way. My car is doing great now! I highly recommend them. They are reliable and trustworthy.
