My complete gratitude to Alex and the whole crew at R&G. I have a classic 2004 Lexus that really needed a complete refresh under the hood. 21 years old and about 160K miles with still the original spark plugs, wires, hoses. Coolant about 10 years old. I wanted to use all original Lexus/Toyota/Denso parts that I was willing to accumulate. They had no problem performing all the labor with those parts. (They earlier replaced the struts with ones I purchased). The car runs great. They found some other things that were old but for now still worked. No problem with me buying those OEM parts and bringing it back in. Simply the best ever. Thanks Guys!

Omar went above and beyond, fixing an existing issue with my bumper so I could safely get back to my hometown. The gentleman at the front desk also gave me very helpful information pertaining to an issue I wanted to work on myself, never once offering to give me a quote, showing that the shop isn’t the kind that is simply out to make what they can off of their customers. It gave me the confidence boost I needed to attempt the task, and if I mess it up, I know for sure who can fix it.
I would, without hesitation, suggest this shop to anyone.

Called Friday May 23 to get oil change and catback exhaust installed for 22 wrx vb that weekend. got me scheduled for saturday. Arrived around 11am, was finished at 1pm. No price haggling, no upselling, very easy to work with, fair pricing for the work. I plan to use this shop for any work I need. Guys working were friendly and trustworthy.

I was told by Alex (6 emails back and forth) to drop of my car today, and when I got there he turned me away, said he didnt have enough room. I took off work to drop the car off like he said. The job was for a diagnostic. I believed once he realized he wasn’t going to make much money on me today, he turned me away. Don’t tell people to be there and then turn them away.
I needed to have a heater and AC evaporator Cores Replaced in my f150. This required the dash to be removed to do the work (not an easy job). After calling many near by shops R&G was the only shop able to accommodate me and performed the job (other than a dealership which I could not afford). R & G Auto Repair was great. Their pricing and workmanship were first class. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.
Wonderful shop! This review is a bit delayed and I apologize. My car started acting up and I searched for a shop and found R & G. It was the reviews that won me over.
I called and they took my vehicle in right away. Within 24 hours my vehicle was repaired and ready to go. They were very communicative, honest, and prices very reasonable. They also brought to my attention another area in my car that may need attention down the road. They said it should be fine for now but by the next oil change they recommended getting that section replaced. I also asked for an estimate of that so I could be prepared.
I highly recommend this shop! I had such a great experience!
I agree with all 5 star reviews. Called them in a panic the day after Thanksgiving and Alex was beyond helpful over the phone. Kashi went above and beyond in more ways than one during my repair. While I don't look forward to car maintenance or repairs, it's reassuring to have folks like this close by as they are attentive, honest, and have very reasonable pricing (no upselling either!!). A+++

Definently deserves WAY more than 5 stars! Very understanding and accommodating! After dropping my car off, I called some time afterward for an update (being worrisome because I didn't want to walk in the heat for hours lol), and Mr. Alex was very calm, professional, and empathetic. He took into consideration my situation, and the service was completed (and done well) long before the time he suggested it would be. Mr. Omar was the mechanic who serviced my car. At pick up, he was very honest and explained everything in great detail. He was able to give expert feedback that was very reassuring! It is evident that they love their craft, are very compassionate businessmen who can relate to people, and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied! The world needs more mechanics like the gentlemen at R & G!

Our '07 Ford Edge started to act up so we took it to R&G Auto. Never used this auto place before. Saw reviews online and took a chance.
They were great! Easy appointment setting, drop off/pick up, and they were honest. Definitely will recommend R&G Auto to others!
I went to another garage and got an estimate, and they told me it would take about three weeks to get the part and do the repair, and the labor cost they wanted to charge seemed high. I decided to shop around for the repair and reached out to R & G Auto Repair. Alex was helpful over the phone and estimated the repair would cost about 75 dollars less than the quote I had, and he told me that it could be done in one full day after getting the part. The part was delivered the next day, I left the car and picked it up the next morning. In addition, the check engine light kept coming on and Alex advised that I should go to a local Chevy dealership and get a gas cap for my car. I was skeptical that all that was needed to get the light to stay off was a gas cap, but I followed his instruction and the darn light has not cone back on in two months. The advice was free and the computer for the brakes is working perfectly. I'd highly recommend R and G because they are honest, reliable, and quick. I will be taking my car here for all maintenance and repairs. It's hard to find a reputable garage that puts customers before labor hours. Thanks R & G!

I've been in the Alexandria VA areas for over 10 years now. I have constantly been looking for a car mechanic that I feel comfortable with and I recently found that with R&G. They just seem to be very honest and do excellent work. Even thought its a little bit out of the way for me it is worth it by far. I am so happy I found these guys and HIGHLY recommend them to anybody looking for a good auto shop.
I've been taking my car to them for the past 10 years and from day one the service has been amazing. They are great with their customers and really care about what they are doing. They will take their time to explain what's going on with your car and never cheat you on the price. I went to dealership once to get my car fixed and took it right back to R & G auto because I could tell something was off. Omar and Koshi were able to tell me exactly what the dealership tried to do to charge me more money. They then fixed it promptly and also told me what to watch out for because they have seen cars like mine before. This was extremely helpful because then I could plan my car expenses which saves me in the long run.
I refer everyone I know to this place because I know they will be taken care of. If you're looking for a place to take your car when the engine light is on, take it here! My 2007 Honda Civic runs great because of the care and maintenance this shop has done for it. I would honestly give this place 10 stars if I could!
I live almost a half hour away from these guy and probably pass 100 auto repair shops on my way to their shop but it’s worth it because they're reliable, knowledgable and honest. Alex holds down the front while two or three great mechanics work on the vehicles. Together, they make an awesome team. If you’re looking for an auto repair shop, go with these guys because they do not disappoint.
Alex Omar Kashi and Ahmed are some of the best mechanics I've ever used. I brought my vehicle in for one issue and they alerted me to 3 other things that were wrong and worked with me on a very good price. Now my vehicle is running the best it's ran in over 6 years and all the credit goes to them. If you are looking for a mechanic shop that is going to take care of you and have a great customer experience this is the place to go!
We started bringing our cars into R&G recently and are very happy! They do appts and especially enjoy that they are open on Saturdays (sorry, know that means you have to work on the weekend!). They recently changed my oil and noticed my brakes needed changing, but not right away--they did not say "oh, have to do it today!" They said could wait for a while, giving me time to plan another visit.
R & G Auto Repair has done excellent work on my and my family’s vehicles for a number of years now. The owners, Alex, Omar, Kashi, are honest and trustworthy. I have never had a problem with the service they’ve provided and I’ve always felt that repair costs were more than fair. They treat me like family. I highly recommend them. Great shop! They did my back brakes on my Lexus RX350 for a very good price. They told me I was going to need front brakes soon. I recently went to Pep Boys for an oil change and they told me I needed front brakes and offered to do them for $600. I politely declined and called R&G the next day. R&G did the front brakes for the same price they charged for the back brakes, rotors and all. I'll never go anywhere else except R&G. I'm recommending them to everyone I know who's looking for great service & fair-honest pricing.
The best auto repair place! They are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and most importantly honest. They are not trying to over charge you or recommend things you don’t need. I recently came in to get a mysterious noise checked out. Turned out to be a simple fix and they took care of it quickly and did not charge me anything. I won’t bring my car anywhere else now. Highly recommend!
Based upon past reviews and their estimated cost we used R&G to replace the timing belt on our 2006 Solara. The work was done as scheduled and within the estimate. We appreciated the quality of the service and the attention to customer care. For example, we were shown all the old parts which we appreciate. We have had no trouble at all with the work they performed. Highly recommend them.
We are new to Alexandria and I needed to get both of our cars worked on. I just googled places with great reviews. R & G definitely lived up to their online reviews. They consistently work with you to find the most logical and cost effective solution to any car repair you need. They are honest and give you as much information as you request about repairs.
