Phuntsok(Phil) came to inspect our rental home for mold damage after a basement flooding. Professional and kind. They will absolutely be my first call for any future services. In an unfortunate circumstance, we at least come out of it with discovering a trustworthy company.
I hired PuroClean for fiberglass remediation. The initial cleaning was not done thoroughly—fiberglass was still visible. They brought in an HVAC subcontractor who blew debris and fiberglass dust into other rooms. I notified PuroClean the same day, but didn’t receive any response until Monday and ended up spending my weekend cleaning the mess myself.
They later returned and re-cleaned the original room, which I appreciated. But after the job was complete, we discovered my son’s TV screen—located in the room where they worked—was cracked. I gave them a chance to resolve this before posting a review, but they denied responsibility and refused to address the damage.
Based on my experience, use caution regarding oversight, property protection, and accountability.
UPDATE: After posting my review, PuroClean reached out and offered reimbursement toward replacing the damaged TV. I genuinely appreciate this gesture and the willingness to take accountability and resolve the issue. While the overall experience had its challenges, I want to acknowledge that they ultimately stepped up to make things right, and I am grateful for that effort.

The original estimate was around $2100, but during the job, the company found additional mold. We received another estimate at the end for around $3100 for the additional mold but the 1000$ markup was not explained to us at the time they found the additional mold. However, the company made it right by refunding 516$ of the 3100$, which reflected a reasonable markup. The owher’s customer service and communication was outstanding and he cares about his company and its customers. The work done was excellent and dried out our entire basement. They also removed the mold and the basement is now suitable for living space. Thank you!

FANTASTIC JOB! My basement “flooded” it was storage so there was A LOT that needed to be removed before they could even handle the walls and carpet. Carlos was amazing. He explained exactly what they were going to do and patiently answered all of my questions throughout the day. The entire team was super friendly and professional. The best…part I swear I’ve never seen a “construction” zone so clean! This is honestly one of the saddest things I’ve had to deal with but I felt a sign of relief as soon as they arrived. You should definitely use them.
I had contacted Carlos to come complete a review of the water damage and provide an estimate. He was very prompt and professional with clear consistent communication throughout the whole process. The fee quote came in at a much more competitive/fair rate than my initial contractor that was suggested by my HVAC company. I also asked him to take a look at areas the initial contractor said had water damage in which Carlos did a thorough job showing me that he wasn't seeing the same issue, which saved me at least $1K of work another company was trying to sell me on. The team that came to complete the water damage and remediation was very professional, worked thoroughly and quickly. Carlos setup the rebuild with his contractor. The whole process took about a week to be remediated and fixed with the rebuild looking good as new. I really appreciated the flexibility and overall was very satisfied with the professionalism, quality of work, and price of the work I had completed.
I had an excellent experience working with Phil and his PuroClean crew. They worked around the clock to deal with extensive water damage in my home. They worked late on a Saturday night, and came back to check the machines on a daily basis to make sure everything was drying properly (even on a Sunday!). Phil and his team were so kind, responsive, and respectful. Also, the team took great care to clean my floors when they left to make sure everything was the way they found it, which was very thoughtful (and not something that you see every contractor remembering to do)!!!
We had a terrible experience with this company. I would not trust them with any remediation project. We consistently pointed out spots they missed. It’s created a lengthy delay and cost us more in electricity running their machines while mold continued to be left untreated. Numerous times their “negative pressure” barrier failed leading to air being blown into our living space and requiring us having to fix it. They seemed to be more concerned about profits than getting the job done correctly and were consistently annoyed when we pointed out the mold they missed because they had to come back and fix it. There is seemingly no oversight from the people that purportedly have certifications. The project manager appears either overworked or incapable. He only showed up at the start and at the end after the tests came back with Stachybotrys. Instead of apologizing for their failures, he reiterated that they wouldn’t be back. The faces of the company are nowhere to found on the job. Extremely poor communication with us regarding the times they would arrive at the house, the remediation plan, or explaining how they solved the problem. The icing on the cake was that after they were “done,” some of the tests came back with Stachybotrys despite a 3 week remediation. They didn’t follow the recommendations of the mold inspector to address their failures. Instead, they hurriedly gathered their stuff, took down their barriers, sprayed two areas that we pointed out on 3 separate occasions, and left. We have zero confidence in their work. To me, they are a demolition company with plastic, dehumidifiers, hepa filters, paint, and some concentrated bleach. For us, customer service and quality control were nonexistent. I’m not sure what standards they are complying with because it doesn’t appear like it’s ANSI/IICRC S520. I would have been better off renting the machines, buying some RMR 86 and 141, and doing it myself.
I'm sure none of their jobs are easy, but technically, I'm sure mine was the easiest they had in a long time. Super straight forward. HOWEVER, logistically/administratively I'm sure it was one of their more challenging. My 1992 R22 based HVAC unit kept icing and thawing outside of the condensate tray due to low (and now restricted) coolant. It was located in a small closet, with it touching two of the four walls. My fear was water was soaking the bottom of wall, and wicking up. So, I had the HVAC company take out the HVAC and hot water heater, and pause. I then had PuroClean come in right behind them, do the mitigation and repair. Add that I elected to have this done Fri - Sun, and things got a bit interesting. PuroClean came in Friday afternoon, did the mitigation, and set up the drying equipment. Saturday they came back, checked the progress, and removed the equipment. Sunday, their subcontractor came out and did a masterful restore. This allowed me to have the HVAC company come back on Monday morning to do the installs. PuroClean did all of this at no premium, that I can tell. I really appreciate Jampa and the others who made this as smooth and quick of a process as possible for me.
Phil arrived to the estimate for mold removal at the designated time. He has excellent verbal communication skills and quickly understood the mold remidiation problem. Phil also has excellent written communication skills. His proposal was clearer than the two competing contractors invited to address our mold problem and was also less expensive. Moses and Leyser were the two PuroClean technicians that did the mold remediation work. They were both efficient and we had pleasant interchanges. Moses pointed out that the bathroom ventilator duct was obstructed with a bird next that should be cleaned out before the drywall was installed . The bottom line. I got good work from people with good communication skills at a competitive price; I am grateful to Moses for pointing out the exhaust vent problem. Thank you for a job well done!

PuroClean was very helpful to me with a very serious water damage issue in my house. In addition to doign the work in the house, they had to pack/store and return my furniture and belongings while the house was being repaired. The house crew that helped with the initial damage, under Carlos' leadership were professional and nice. The moving team was amazing, super friendly, fun and also very efficient. I worked with PuroClean regarding some water damage which require mitigation as well as a rebuild. Carlos was my point of contact and he was so quick to come out with an estimate as well as a start date. I work nights and he was respectful of my schedule as well as my preferred mode of correspondence which is invaluable to me. There were some hiccups regarding my rebuild as my flooring was discontinued and I didn’t have enough leftover. Carlos worked with the subcontractors to come up with a “next best option” plan and I think it worked out great. Adolfo was in charge of the rebuild and his two person team was amazing! They were on time and did a phenomenal job! They also took exceptional care of my property. Everything was covered and moved with care and the clean up they did was amazing. When I experienced a sewage flood in my condo, PuroClean was very responsive and timely and did a great job with the water extraction and remediation. The damage was extensive and frankly, a bit sneaky, and they were able to identify everything that needed address and quickly start the processes to address them. Some aspects were inherently involved and time consumptive, but the PuroClean team were diligent and consistent and methodical until it was all remedied. They also packed out my entire home, stored the contents in their warehouse (great facility!), and were quite flexible in accommodating my pack back requests. The team was professional and thoughtful throughout--good people! I appreciated how easy they were to work with during what was a challenging event and period of time for me as the homeowner.

PuroClean of Alexandria was such a tremendous help after we had a pipe burst this winter. They were very quick to respond and talked us through their process and our options for recovery. They did very professional work during the water removal and cleanup.
It's also worth noting that we got a lot of support from the main office while we were going through the process of getting approval from our insurance. This year in August 2021, we had a kitchen sink pipe burst that damaged our entire upper floor kitchen, living room and basement. It was similar to Category 2 water flood situation.
