Customer service was great from the start. It was a 2 hour commute for me and Jayno didn’t waste my time. The car was already pulled out and ready for me to test drive when I got there. Their entire finance team is great as well. They make you feel at home and they don’t even pressure you to purchase even after the test drive. Most definitely will be getting my business in the future.

Came into Safford Mazda for an oil change, I come to this location all the time. I was satisfied with the customer service from the service team and even the salesmen were nice and welcoming. My service was fairly swift which definitely was amazing! My only complaint is from the concierge woman whose job is to be helpful to customers, she was extremely rude and flat when I asked if she could assist me in finding a charger (the built in plugs were not working for me). She stared at her phone with an attitude throughout our conversation and didnt even attempt to assist me, stated “no” and immediately went back to scrolling. Afterwards I asked the guy at the checkout station for one, 5 seconds later he easily found me a charger. For her to be a concierge the customer service from her was extremely poor—despite having a charger or not! Other than the concierge, the experience was good!

Abdel at Mazda is hands down the BEST. From start to finish, he was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I was happy with my purchase. He answered every question, explained everything clearly, and never once made me feel pressured. He answered every text and phone call I had before the purchase and there was a lot LOL! What really set him apart is that he didn’t just feel like a salesman he became a friend.
Huge shout-out as well to Tori and Rob both incredibly knowledgeable you can tell they’ve been in the game a long time. Their experience really shows, and they were awesome to work with. I want to put 0 stars but I’m forced to put a star. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on December 17, and by December 20—less than three days later—I began experiencing serious issues with the car not starting on multiple occasions. I immediately returned to the dealership to report the problem. The salesperson I bought the vehicle from assured me an appointment would be scheduled the following week. That appointment never happened. I received no follow-up call or email, despite repeated attempts to contact them.
After multiple calls, I finally had to escalate the issue to the sales manager just to get basic communication. While waiting to hear back, the vehicle also failed Maryland State Inspection due to a wheel bearing issue, which raises serious concerns about the condition of the car at the time of sale.
When I initially returned to the dealership, the salesperson, Abdel, told me the dealership would take responsibility and cover the repair costs. However, when I returned on Saturday, December 27, and spoke directly with sales manager’s, I was given completely conflicting information and told the dealership would not cover any costs.
This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The Carfax information was inaccurate, and the vehicle clearly did not meet Maryland inspection standards. After paying nearly $20,000, I was quoted over $1,000 in repairs within less than two weeks of ownership.
I do not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Once they receive your money, their willingness to help disappears. The vehicles appear to be money pits, and accountability is lacking.Jan 31, 2026 -
I had several issues with my vehicle that needed to be addressed under warranty. This is our only family car so I asked ofr a loaner because I knew they needed sometime with it becasue of how many issues and I couldnt be without a car for a day. When I aksed for a loaner they said it was on a first come first servr basis which was fair. I was told that I would get a call when one came in. 2 weeks went by and I never received a call. Then I called again and took me a while to get someone on the phone because they very rarely answer. When i finnally got on the phone with someone I asked for the service manager who they said was in a meeting and he would call me back. Another 2 weeks went by and didnt get any call form the manager or anyone for that matter. At this point I went in to talk to someone and explained the terrible cusotmer service issues Ive been having. The service adviser made an appoinment for me and guareented a loaner. Went I went in for my appoiment looked like he didnt remember me at all but luckily they had the loaner available. They had my car for 7 dyas and someone stole my Anker 20k MaH battery power bank. Every service was rude and dissmisive. They never answer the phone or return calls and also thiefs.

I just bought a new Mazda after reviewing Toyotas and Hondas. I experienced the best service and price at Safford thanks to Abdel. This guy took away all the stress of buying a new car. Great experience overall.

This was a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. Communication was consistently poor, and getting basic information required repeated follow-ups.
The operation is disorganized and unprofessional, with little regard for customer time or concerns. The initial impression was completely misleading.
I do not recommend this location under any circumstances. If there is another Mazda dealership within a reasonable distance, go there instead. This place is a waste of time and money.Jan 20, 2026 -
Horrible horrible service department. I purchased my vehicle from here in April 2024 and had a great sales experience. However, the service department leaves much to be desired. I am never trusting this place with my vehicle again. There are actually better and reputable auto shops in the area.

Happy to recommend Safford Mazda Alexandria - they were great from start to finish. Andrew (sales rep) was knowledgeable and great to work with. Low pressure approach, gave me space to do my research and come back a week or two later ready to buy. Yahya stepped in on the pricing/finance side. He was also easy to work with - in a <10 minute call I made an offer and we came to full terms/accepted - just like that. I was at the dealer one hour later to pick up the car. The rest of the process was quick, including all paperwork. The car was fully prepped, with extra accessories installed, and made ready to go while I was in the finance office. Andrew was even nice enough to respond back quickly via text when I had a simple follow up question after the sale - on New Year's eve! I've got a CX50 hybrid and now my family has a CX5 too - looking forward to many years of fun driving. Come on in and ask for Andrew!

This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. My sales associate Andrew K and the finance manager Ariana were both absolutely fantastic. From start to finish this was an easy and not overbearing process. They were able to help me with anything I needed without being pushy or in any way making it a painful experience. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and ensure you ask for Andrew to help you out.

Poor communication about the issues with my car, on multiple visits. This review could have been avoided if a caring, knowledgable person was able to address my concerns immediately within the first 20 minutes of my first visit. Instead, it was dragged out over weeks and multiple visits.
I did not feel listened to. I did not feel valued as a customer. I never felt like I got an honest answer that showed a modicum of empathy; they just wanted to move me along. Even when I was finally offered a solution, the service director was demeaning, saying "You just need to read the owner's manual." I recently purchased a new vehicle here and was taken care of by the staff across departments. Abdel in sales is fantastic and very communicative, walking me through the whole process. The purchase went quite late into the evening but Rob in finance took care of me and made the process feel smooth. Although there were some hiccups the next day with the vehicle, the service team was able to look at the issues the same day. Abdel made sure to check up on me occasionally and Dametrius in service was helpful in providing periodic updates. Lastly, I wanted to mention Yahya, who acknowledged my long wait time and even offered to buy me food. He is a real MVP and I look forward to my next visit with the same great service.

Title: The Dealership That Survived the Customer From Hell (me) and Earned My Respect
I’ve been car shopping for what feels like a decade — test drives, fake smiles, “let me talk to my manager” routines — you name it, I’ve seen it. I walk into dealerships like a human lie detector with a caffeine problem.
But then I landed here and worked with Deborah, Yahya, and Rob, and something weird happened… everyone was actually fair, friendly, and honest. No hidden fees, no pressure, no eye rolls when I asked to see the fine print (and yes, I always ask).
They treated me like a person, not a quota. Every question I lobbed at them — and I had many — was met with straight answers, & genuine patience. I left not only with a car I love, but with my faith in dealerships somewhat miraculously restored.
If you’ve been burned before or just have a built-in BS radar like me, give these folks a shot. They passed every test - this place has good vibes and that means a lot coming from a jerk like me that won't hesitate to walk out of a showroom.
One more thing: they all own Mazdas. I don't have any tatts but I might get a Mazda one.. or maybe not... anyway, I won't bore you with the tech on why I only buy Mazdas. Always avoid CVT transmissions. Treat yourself to a drive that is fast, tight, reliable, and price friendly.Nov 27, 2025 -
In April, I had new brake pads and rotors installed on all four wheels of my CX5 vehicle. However, immediately after the installation, there was a persistent and unusual noise whenever I applied the brakes. I contacted the dealer, and they assured me this noise was normal and would resolve within about a month due to the brake components breaking in.
After one month, the noise was still present, so I called the dealer again. They advised me to wait another month. When the noise continued beyond this period, I brought my car back to the dealership. They inspected the brakes and insisted everything was fine, recommending I wait yet another month.
In the summer, I returned to the dealer once more. They maintained the brakes were in good condition but suggested the noise might be caused by other links under the car. They proceeded with repairs unrelated to the brakes, charging me $2,000 for parts and labor, and additional time due to trying to find the problem.
Unfortunately, just one week after these repairs, the noise resumed and worsened. I waited a couple of weeks to see if it would go away naturally, but it did not. I went back to the dealer and their clean the brakes and the noise stopped for another week. Finally, I returned to the dealer (with many video from the last 4 months), and they admitted the problem was indeed the brakes and that they had not been installed properly initially.
The dealer replaced the brakes free of charge (under warranty) but refused to reimburse me for the unnecessary $2,000 in repairs and labor costs. The dealer said to call Mazda and they said they is nothing they can do. It is disappointing that they knew from the start there was a brake issue under the 1-year warranty but failed to communicate this or promptly address it, leading to additional expenses, many dealer visits and inconvenience on my part.Nov 14, 2025 -

Hi all. Find Alex if you are looking for a salesperson. He was mine… honest kind and passionate about what he does. But got to know the whole team you are lucky with any of them Why are they so great? I happened to meet the GM over the phone and wow, the guy truly has a big heart and is real— what I learned — talking with the mechanics, sales, and finance teams. Why I give 5 stars? I'd give 10 if I could. It’s important when I choose a dealership. I always talk to everyone and learn about their passions; all the people I spoke with are great. Is it that I ask how they like the GM, and they all have personal, kind stories? So, if you are looking for a Mazda, even if you’re in other parts of the DMV, check out Alexandrea Stafford Brown! It may be farther then the other locations but I found this one was worth the drive! Go Mazda team. Thanks for the 3 or 4 cars Ive purchased over the 5 to 7 years. My experience at this dealership is not the classic predatory and overbearing car dealership experience. It was a very positive experience for me. Moe was the best! Rob was very accommodating and understanding. I felt so comfortable during this experience and never felt too much pressure compared to other dealerships. This dealership is very professional and amiable. They're good and nice people. I experienced patience and the whole dealership is very inviting and friendly. I can't recommend this place enough, and you honestly can't beat the quality and price of a Mazda.

As a first time car buyer, the process is nerve racking, me and my partner went to almost 4 different car dealerships looking for an specific MAZDA-CX 30 and we were really disappointed with the service every time we left one of them, so with low hopes we went to Safford Brow. Moe Z. welcomed us in, let me tell you, it was the best experience we’ve had in a dealership, Moe was very kind and friendly, for us instead of being tense and with trust issues like we’ve felt before he made the process feel fun and knowledgeable as he walked us through details without being pushy, he was very honest and straight forward. Something very important is that Moe explained every feature of the car including hardware and software, something that in most dealers you won’t find. The rest of the team working there were very nice as well but with 100% certainty if we ever need a car again or anybody we know, we would definitely put it in Moe’s capable hands.

I needed a lot of work done on my car, and most of it was unexpected. Working with Dametrius Watkins made the process so much smoother. He was kind, direct, and honest. I felt Dametrius was always in communication with me and my dad and did not feel we were running into any unnecessary surprises, especially in terms of cost. I am so appreciative of him and Safford Brown Mazda. I will be back and recommend others to do the same!

I was searching for a vehicle for business purposes and saw a Jeep compass. In my research, I found one at this dealership. It appeared to have great reviews and decided to check them out with a family member. One of the best experiences I've had at a dealership in a long time. Abdel Neda, who is a product specialist and sales rep, was awesome! Very professional, ambitious and thoughtful! He accommodated us with anything that we needed. Abdel took extra care to make sure that the vehicle was ready and even filled up the gas on the vehicle for us before heading out. Rob at finance was professional and quick with the paperwork. The process took 3 to 4 hours, but it felt much quicker. If you're looking for a used or new vehicle the dealership has a variety of different vehicles to choose from. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I recommend it.

Just got my new car from here. From the entry everything was super smooth. No long waiting. Andrew, the customer rep assigned to me was absolutely fantastic. I had my friends tell me that the dealership folks are always trying to rob you but he didn’t talk about money to me at all.
