I had a very nice experience with these guys recently. I took my BMW to the dealership "BMW of Alexandria" for check engine and oil leakage issues. They gave an estimate of about $17,000 . Yes, seventeen thousand dollars, way more than the value of the vehicle. I was quite stressed about it and called K&B Auto Service, for their good reviews. They suggested to go to Turnpike Auto Services because K&B doesn't handle BMWs. Turnpike Auto guys fixed it for only $1500 (fifteen hundred). So, they are my preferred place to go in the future.
I waited a while to write the review because I thought the cheaper solutions are not the best solutions most of the times. However, the vehicle is running great and I am confident that they have fixed the problem effectively.

Extremely grateful to have found these guys! My 2009 Mercedes S550 had an oil leak and I spent the whole week stressed about it and buying $15 of oil every 2 days. Matt and Drew quickly fixed it and charged me an affordable price! Matt was even nice enough to drive my car around to see if there was any potential problems and there wasn't any. The whole team is very honest, don't overcharge regardless of the car, and very friendly. I definitely recommend taking your car to Turnpike Auto Services. It is a life saver!!

Needed to get my Audi serviced because not every car mechanic knows what they are doing with these cars. First stopped at K & B Autos and they referred me to these guys. Benjamin explained EVERYTHING to me and gave me options. THIS IS HOW YOU DO BUSINESS AND HOW YOU RETAIN CUSTOMERS! These guys didn’t try to rip me off, overcharge me, or recommend unnecessary services. As long as I live in this area, they have my business for life! Honesty is the BEST policy.

Turnpike auto is my goto place, I have been there for every service from A to Z for my Mercedes, they are the best, price is pretty good too. If you go to Mercedes service center, way to expensive, they do the same thing as turnpike auto but much cheaper.
My Ford Fiesta had been to another shop 2 times before Turnpike Auto Services and my only regret is not coming here first. By far one of the best body shops I've been too! The last time I went there for an oil change the guy who did it not replace gasket and I had a leaking oil. I found this out by taking my car to another auto shop. I used to go there for many years, and the service was great. But recently after the owners son came, it seemed like there has been a change in the mechanics. The guy who did my oil change seemed like he was in his twenties.
I stopped in with only a few hours before work and they immediately looked at my car to help me. They ended up finding something that was just rubbing and didn't charge me. It's so hard to find an honest and friendly place like this..Thanks again.

Best place to take your car to hands down. Friendly and professional service. Went in for a flat tire, which they fixed super fast, and then they insured all of my other tires were at the proper pressure. They are GREAT!
TLDR: Practical, no nonsense body shop.
Fair prices and honest workmanship: was quoted a higher price and ended up paying less because they ended up doing less work. Plus, they ended up fixing a problem that other body shops quoted much more to fix. Very hard to find this kind of professionalism, and i will be going back to them again.

HONEST & Helpful. They spend the time to explain and make suggestions. I no longer live in the area but traveled here primarily to have them replace my starter and water pump as suggested by the Honda Dealer. Great second opinion and well worth the many dollars saved! Something you don’t find much of these days. When we started talking tires I was advised to not go through them for the purchase, but find the tires elsewhere and they’d put them on. They’ve earned a customer out of me. I’ll be returning!
Mike has saved me thousands of dollars over other mechanics! Although this is a small shop Mike has always made time for my vehicles and is very honest about the repairs. The reason I trust Mike, is he explains to you the parts of the vehicle that need repaired very carefully, regardless of your gender. My wife was able to bring her car to this shop and feel like she was spoken to respectfully. You cannot find a better auto repair shop in this area!
I had to pay a lot of money for nothing here. There was a young guy who was nice at first but as soon I signed the paper and gave him the key he changed and told me go and come back tomorrow because we are closing. Tomorrow morning he asked me to pay him for working 2 hours while it was 8:30am and it was just 2 minutes. I never suggest this place to anyone.
Reliable, efficient, down-to-earth, no-nonsense. This place is awesome. I've been coming here for years but here is one story: once I was in a busy afternoon of errands and I got a nail in my tire and I could hear it and I was 2 miles away so I just drove straight and they took me right in to the garage and patched it up, charged me only $10 and I was in and out of there in 8 minutes flat (no pun intended).
The mechanics here are very well trained, polite, and punctual. I have never seen a shop that is so brutally honest with it's customers. It's for this fact that I will go to them for service everytime. They are a no BS crew and will service your vehicle for a very good price
Been going to Mike's for several years now; reliable, honest, and takes care of his customers. His prices are fair and worth the cost for the quality of service. You can expect the service needs and options to be explained and options given, when available, to resolve the issue.
Came in recently for some service required due to failed state safety inspection, and Mike did some additional work for no charge as a "gift to a good customer".
I've shopped around, and while Turnpike Auto isn't always the cheapest quote (I've had not-good experiences when I've tried going with the "other guys" and Mike ended up fixing it) -- the consistently great vehicle care and customer service is what keeps me coming back!
Mr. Mike and his team really helped our Camry out, came in for a plug on a tire and they noticed our oil dangerously low, supposed to have 5 qts and we had less than 1!! No pressure into the sale just honest and open, will be coming back, very fair and very professional thanks!
Mike Hong and his group are absolutely fantastic. No bs just very realistic service, time, cost etc. Explains problems and solutions. Honest hardworking. He and the lads have worked on our cars since 1985 when he was here on Capitol Hill. When they were forced to move due to the nationals stadium etc. We followed. That's how much we most of our friends appreciate these excellent mechanics and the vast knowledge of automobiles. You will not regret going to Turnpike auto
I can only reinforce the great reviews about Turnpike Auto that have been posted. I have been a customer of Mike Hong's, the owner, for some twenty-odd years starting when it was DC Foreign Cars. I followed him from Half St NE, Washington, DC to his present location. His DC location gave way for the Nationals Stadium. In that time I have had an assortment of foreign cars -- an Audi, an assortment of BMW's and a Mercedes -- plus an American Chrysler PT Cruiser. His knowledge and experience for all is impeccable and is transferred to his technicians. Without hesitation I would recommend Turnpike Auto to anyone who is interested great service, great prices and great treatment. I remain to live in DC but continue schlep down I-395 to his current Virginia location.
Unfortunately we have two Land Rovers that give us frequent trouble, and these guys always give us honest estimate, along with photos of what was done. They really know their stuff and we really trust them. 5 stars
