If you have a Toyota, this is absolutely the best place in NOVA you can go. Tom has always treated me and my friends (who I sent there) with total respect. The prices are always reasonable and the advice is always spot on.

My Honda developed a problem with the AC intermittently working after a shaft seal replacement under warranty with the dealership. After multiple visits, diagnostic tests, being told that nothing was wrong with the AC on one occasion, the AC finally stopped working altogether. The dealership told me that I should replace the compressor, which would cost over $2000. I brought the car to K&B. Tom found the real problem, which was a broken wire controlling the AC. He diagnosed and fixed my issue in under four hours, for a fraction of the price that the dealership was going to charge me for a repair that was not even the cause of the problem. Tom and his guys are knowledgeable, honest, and efficient. I’m so thankful for them.
I've been getting oil changes and regular maintenance at K&B for years. Tom is a stand-up guy who always gives me honest advice on whether services are necessary, and everyone there has always been helpful and nice.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Not only do they have great, honest, customer service, they do good reliable work and make trustworthy recommendations. We have been going here for 12 years (that's how old our car is) and will continue to go here. If you're able to work remotely, it also has a great alternative workspace set with good Wi-Fi, power strip, a desk and an office chair. I get my best work done while waiting for my car. Thank you, Tom & team for your recent recommendation to go back to the dealership to get their poor workmanship fixed (for a part that K&B couldn't work on). You uncovered a major problem and the dealership is now re-fixing the issue. Definitely recommend this place!
Very reasonable in terms of prices, probably 30% cheaper than a shop just a mile away that I go to occasionally. I dropped my Subaru off for several services and it was done within a few hours despite being busy at the shop (I figured it would take all day). The owner (I presume owner?) is super friendly. They don't push you into anything extra that you don't want to do.
So happy I didn't go elsewhere. I had another appt and changed my mind when I found K&B. I had a stripped oil plug from the Subaru dealership putting it on way too tight. I wanted to change my own oil, but couldn't get it off. I called another shop and they made it sound like I should expect to need to replace the entire oil pan without even looking at the car. So I brought it here, they got the plug off and changed my oil and with no issues. They are definitely honest, didnt try to sell me anything I didn't need, and Tom was very kind. They even used my oil and filter I already had for a discount. This will be the only place I bring my Subaru from now on. Be aware, they only service asian made vehicles.
Finding a trustworthy and honest mechanic can be tough, but I found exactly that with Tom at K&B Auto! He worked on our '06 Toyota, which was throwing some dash lights, and took the time to walk me through his thought process, explaining the different options available. We came up with a solid plan, and the repairs were done quickly and efficiently—now the car runs great! What really stood out was that I was given options instead of just a massive repair bill, which speaks volumes about the kind of shop Tom runs. Top-notch service all around. K&B Auto is now my go-to for any future car issues!
Overall, it is a good environment with friendly people. At the moment, this is the only mechanic shop i go to if there's ever an issue with my car so far I've only visited for my car maintenance, and I like it there I think the price is reasonable and fair too.

K&B Auto has to be the best service shop I've ever used. I was skeptical because the reviews are almost too good to be true, but I assure you they are not. I've taken several cars here and every time has been fantastic. Most recently took a car in for a squeaky belt, after they tightened it the first time. They replaced the belt completely free of charge, not even labor, and had the car turned around within 30 minutes. Incredible service.
Was recommended by a friend to bring my truck here and they were amazing! I wish I had known about this place sooner, if I could give them 6 stars I would! They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and helpful. Diagnosed my check engine light and refused to charge me for it. This is the only place I will be bringing my vehicles from now on.

They said they do not have regular oil and i had to buy full synthetic which was expensive. I asked them to check the brakes and provide a quote, but without inspecting, they claimed the brakes were fine, even though they weren't. They also didn’t refill the brake fluid or check the noise the machine was making. While they did change the oil in 20 minutes, they ignored my concerns.
My battery died, and as I’m sitting working in the lobby telling my co-workers where I am, one makes a snide comment about “you can’t trust mechanics”. I might have laid into him a bit. I’d trust Tom with my first born.
My wife and I have been coming to K&B since we moved up here in 2013. He’s seen us through our broke days with clunkers and didn’t see us for years when we got new cars (but still remembered our names). We’ve bought the team cupcakes before to have at their family style lunches they eat together as a team. We like them that much.
This is not a defense of all mechanics (though don’t take out your financial situation on them — it’s not their fault) but I will defend K&B to the death.
Love K&B, Tom is great! Super knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Took my 20+ yr old Tundra w/ 150k miles in to replace timing and drive belts, plugs, ignition coils, radiator, fan clutch/mount, water pump, belt tensioners, oil change etc.
I was prepared to do more work on it, but Tom inspected the other areas and said it wasn’t necessary at the time.
I was surprised how quickly they were able to complete all of the work. The price of the work was very reasonable too.
Truck has been running great since the work was done.
I will definitely be going back to K&B!
I’ve been going here for a check-up and an oil change. They are always welcoming with warm smiles and honest. As a woman, it’s hard to believe in when you go for car stuff. But they explain well and are very reliable and experienced. So I recently recommended my other female friend and she loved it as well.
Well, I can't trust anyone else than Mr. Tom for any advice on my Honda. Always transparent about diagnosis and always suggest what is necessary to fix than selling you out his shop even sometimes I ask him put this but he give his technical opinion if I really need it or not.
I always do oil change here as I trust them with oil they will use. So far I did a lot of work on my car with them and never disappointed. He would always use original parts that would work for long time and his price very reasonable compared to dealerships or area. And always accommodate me without appointment or I leave my car and get it back same day. He is the gem in auto repair shops.
Can't say enough great things from my experience earlier in the week! Unfortunately my alternator failed and my car was just barely able to make it to K&B before it completely died on me. I explained the situation to Tom and he was able to accommodate me that day without having a prior appointment. He kept in touch with me throughout the day and I was able to get my car back just hours later.
I've always brought my car to the Toyota service center for any maintenance in the past, because it's just what I was used to doing. I will definitely be going back to K&B in the future. Also, it's really nice to find a mechanic who is friendly and personable.

I came to K&B Auto for a second opinion on services recommended for my 2015 Corolla by a highly rated local chain in the VA/MD area. Tom walked me through the services, what I did and did not need, and pricing (which was half of the competitor’s!).
Tom was not only transparent, but one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with. He has my business as long as I live in here, and I’ll be recommending him to everyone I know.
This is undeniably the best mechanic shop experience I’ve EVER had. First off, Tom is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. They do wonderful work and are truly 100% honest. During a brake pad job he even told me they’d broken a screw, and they not only told me about it, but they had the character and integrity to let me know it happened and they covered the cost to get the correct OEM Subaru parts to repair it properly. They have top notch attention to detail and they take care of your property as if it was their own. I honestly won’t go anywhere else. I’ve been here a few times for oil change, battery replacement and control arms replacement they have done it quickly. It is much more affordable than other shops around. Highly recommended.
