The estate is private and completely yours for the entire duration of your celebration. With stunning brick exteriors of the main mansion, ponds, lush forests, and a beautiful maple tree lined ceremony site—this is the perfect place for nature lovers and fans of beautiful architecture. The interior of the mansion is filled with priceless art pieces, hidden nooks, and beautiful pockets of light. As a wedding photographer, I can tell you with confidence that you can’t take a bad photo here. The property is vast yet intimate at the same time, with plenty of space for large celebrations but centralized enough that intimate weddings would feel right at home. With separate buildings for getting ready for both sides of the wedding party, cocktail hour and ceremony areas close by, and the reception tent just a short walk down the hill from the mansion—the convenience and layout of the space is one of the best I’ve experienced as a vendor. The real hidden gem of the Reading Farms Estate though is the man behind the magic of it all. Arturo is truly a wizard—seemingly everywhere at once, managing so many key aspects of the day, all while giving everyone exactly what they need before they even ask for it. Arturo creates beautiful timelines for the day, detailing each transition and allowing time and space for those beautiful “in-between” moments that everyone craves on a busy wedding day. He goes out of his way to support each vendor—providing flowers for flat lay details, offering private spaces with excellent meals during dinner service, and offering suggestions for the best places to take photos that match the vibe and energy of the couple and their unique celebration. Arturo and his team at Reading Farms Estate have exemplified mastery over every aspect of what it takes to run luxury events and make it look seamless: from floral design, event management, venue management, catering, and more. I’ve never met a more dedicated, detail-oriented, and all around fun individual to work with as part of a vendor team for wedding days.

We decided to get married at Reading Farms Estate because of its unmatched beauty, elegance, and the effortless planning process. The estate is so grand, allowing us to host over 30 overnight guests while welcoming an additional 150 guests to enjoy a fully immersive wedding weekend. Another major reason we chose Reading Farms was their incredibly talented team. Arturo and Chef Richard from On Thyme Events and Boom and Bloom helped us bring our dream celebration to life. They took care of everything; from planning and catering to florals, rentals, and décor. They really made sure the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable. Stephen was also amazing, answering all of our questions with patience and care. Our wedding felt seamless, special, and truly unforgettable thanks to the extraordinary team at Reading Farms.

This place is a dream, by far the most beautiful estate I've ever seen. The view, the house, the barn, the trails, the space! It's got a 10 burner gas stove and a couple of ovens, you could cook 3 thanksgivings if you wanted to! The wifi works in most of the house but not outside and you have zero reception but youre not going to need it, there's plenty of other things to do.

Reading Farms Estate is truly everything we hoped for our wedding weekend! Stephen was very helpful and attentive with all of our questions from the beginning of our booking. Once we had booked the property, he introduced us to their preferred catering and wedding planner which made our journey much more enjoyable and stress free. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking with plenty of things to enjoy, the pool is so relaxing and the best part is that we had the complete estate to ourselves. Looking forward to comeback for our family vacation.

Every summer I come with my family and it never fails to amaze us. The property is beautiful and magical. Great for pictures! The meals here are always absolutely delicious by their Chef Richard. Definitely recommend for a wedding, birthday, any special event, or even a weekend getaway.

What a beautiful place! Attended a wedding here and it was such a perfect space for our family to stay on site and spend time together without having to travel to a separate venue. The space is gorgeous inside and outside. There are so many breathtaking views everywhere you look. We even had fireworks to close the night! Highly recommend looking into them as you plan your wedding in VT!

The staff, instrumental in planning our outings, has guided us to explore the picturesque Woodstock, where we've enjoyed driving through covered bridges and visiting local attractions like the Simon Pearce glass blowing studio. Additionally, our ventures to nearby maple farms have become cherished traditions. Reading Farms Estate has become a cherished part of our family history, a place where timeless beauty, exceptional service, and the magic of Vermont seamlessly converge. My wife and I got married at Reading Farms in August 2023, with 20 friends staying with us onsite. In short, we were wowed by Arturo and Stephen’s hospitality and attention to detail throughout the weekend—and our friends LOVED Arturo! The property is nothing short of spectacular, and Arturo excelled at coordinating with our vendors throughout the weekend. One of many examples that speak to the team’s responsiveness throughout the weekend: it rained twice right before our ceremony, and the team thoroughly dried off every seat for our guests both times and helped our ceremony go off without a hitch despite the delay. They were unflappable and true professionals. We had an after party in the barn; one huge bonus of Reading Farms’ acreage is being able to party late! While having a wedding at Reading Farms does involve abiding by a fair number of guidelines/ rules, these rules are reflective of Arturo and Stephen’s care for the property. We planned carefully to make sure we wouldn’t incur any unforseen costs, and it was well worth it; we had a magical weekend. Thank you to Arturo, Stephen, Chef Richard, and the whole On Thyme/Reading Farms staff for your help in making that weekend so special for all involved!

My husband and I got married at a gorgeous private estate. We decided to book RFE for it’s flexibility, peaceful and intimate settings. Our guest count was 80 which 30 of our closest family and friends stayed on the property. The newly renovated and updated inside of the buildings are amazing! They also have their own personal chef and wedding coordinator, so everything was really easy to put together. Staff is very friendly and helpful, ready to assist at any time of the wedding process. If you are looking for a not cookie cutter venue with no restrictions, this is definitely the place you want to be.

On a cool summer day we had our wedding at Reading Farms. It was so beautiful! One thing we really loved about RFE is the privacy. We were the only guests on property. We had 150 guests and they all loved the property!

It’s hard to put in words what a lovely estate this is. Pictures don’t do it justice. We gad such a great time. The staff was so attentive and pleasant.

Reading Farms Estate is absolutely beautiful. The owners were attentive to all our needs, the chef’s presentation of our dinners were amazing and tasted just as wonderful. The grounds so spacious and immaculate. Everything was perfect.

My wife and I are finishing up our first stay at Reading Farms and it’s been an outstanding experience. Its location allows for easy day trips to enjoy the beautiful countryside as well as towns that provide something for everyone to enjoy. Although I'm certain there were other guests at the estate, the Reading Farms team made us feel like we were their primary priority. And the food – Can’t say enough about how good that was. We’re already planning our return trip next year.

The staff is so amazing to work with. They respond promptly and kindly, most of all are patient with you when sorting out what are your rentals priorities. I would recommend this rental for a wedding or family reunion to anyone. They made time for phone calls and emails and helped me through the whole process. We recently had our September 2022 wedding at Reading Farms Estate, and had some family and the bridal party stay on site for 3 nights total. I agree with the other reviews that photos and videos do not do the beauty of this property justice. When I say our wedding was stunning from start to finish, I mean it! Truly, Stephen, Arturo, Rich, and other wonderful members of the staff and the On Thyme Events staff are friendly & professional, incredibly responsive, and do try their best to bend over backwards to help every step of the way. They worked incredibly hard on every detail that weekend to make sure it all went off without a hitch, and it showed. We are eternally grateful!!

I personally have been honored to visit the estate of Reading Farms over the last 25 years. It's a magically place like no other! The owners take great pride in their "slice of heaven" .. and it shows everyday.

The photos and the descriptions of the site do not represent the truly spectacular aspects of the venue. We had a wonderful family vacation at this magical place. All the rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated. The kitchen has all you need to cook meals and store food for 20 people. The barn, the gym the theater the pool and the jacuzzi were a hit with the kids as well as the adults. The hiking trails around the villa are marvelous. The staff on the premises were gracious and accommodating. Net, all of us scored the place as a “10”!

Peaceful stay with breathtaking views. The house is very resourceful, with an ample kitchen, comfortable mattresses and easy to use jacuzzi. The staff is friendly and provide great service. We are coming back next year!

Was a nice start to the week with our large family. But a once over of the property found cameras everywhere! 10-15 of them. Pond up top loaded with stocked trout. Same for lower pond. They did allow us to fish for them. We are a rowdier crowd. Brought our own fire works. Thats a no no in the huge field. Made tie dyed shirts for the kids. Thats a big no no. I guess a week later it kills the grass even after you hose the area down. Had a couple of my parents friends show up for an afternoon unannounced as well as a friend passing through with a dog. Both big no no’s. Friend with dog had to leave immediately. The caretaker and cook live in the lower house and are apparently watching on the cameras. Threw my hat over the camera on the pool in the middle of the day and immediately caretaker came up, took it off and told me thats not allowed. In the end it was a nice old place (although no original timbers are seen in place from renovations) and would have gone back. But the deciding factor to not return was when they told us my $5,000 deposit was not going to be returned for above violations. But! They would credit it towards a rental the following year.. i received $1,200 back after negotiations. Oh and skip the fire. It was $300 to have the caretaker collect all types of cardboard and repeatedly drench it with two cans of charcoal fluid for 1/2 an hour while the rotting pine logs below slowly caught. Had us all gagging with fumes and chuckling with all the available kindling sitting in the woods. Not a place for people who want the freedom of your own fire and someone watching every move you make outside. -mike gault

The grounds are some of the prettiest that we have been at and the attention to detail is amazing. Stacy is upfront, honest and fun to work with!
