They advertised an SL Nissan- I took my whole afternoon off, dragged my two children to buy this ‘great car’ that was NOT at all what I expected! It was an S base model and he wanted the SAME PRICE as the SL. Sketchy, dodgy, shifty! Do let yourself be tricked like I almost was!

In need of a vehicle, I fortunately, came across "Classic Auto Exchange" in Berlin VT. The Owner Ron was a respectful, patient, kind, courteous gentleman. Ron worked with me for all my financial needs and vehicle I wanted. Every detail was explained about my vehicle and deal..I was satisfied and he approved me..Ron was straight forward, honest with no hidden agenda. I was well informed and happy with my purchase. I drove away with my new vehicle and a smile. Everything went smoothly, I had a good experience. I will definitely go back to Ron again, for my wife is in need for a car. Classic Auto Exchange is by far one of the best companies to work with for purchasing a used car in the area! We contacted Ron on Friday to schedule an appointment for 10am the next day and he spent time on the phone getting to know us and our needs immediately. When we got there he was so accommodating for our kids and being able to test drive the car! The SUV we purchased was in great shape and very very clean it shows how much they care about their inventory! We will be back in the spring for our next vehicle! From the rude salesperson making comments like “we’ll come for the car if this check isn’t any good” to the fact they sold us an Audi made in a year they knew involved a lawsuit with Audi as some of the cars need a new or rebuilt engine, yet they withheld this information is what made me give them a one star rating (if zero was an option I would have chosen that one). It wasn’t until two weeks later after I bought the car (check was fine) and my low oil light came on they decided it would be a good idea to tell me about that lawsuit and tested the car to reveal it did, indeed, need a new or rebuilt engine. They offered to do it for the same price as Audi (!!) but they’d only make us pay half. Long story short, we got financially hosed very badly and they took it back leaving us to pick from another gem on their lot. I was assured the one I picked had everything in working order, this was not the case as you may have guessed. From an alignment issues resulting in a chunk of rubber missing from a front tire, the automatic truck lift not working properly, cracked tire almost off the bat to reveal a large patch inside the tire (illegal), and more, it clearly wasn’t in the condition they claimed it to be in. I don’t have the desire to deal with these folks ever again. If you do business with them, ask LOTS of questions and do LOTS of research on the heap you are looking at.

Ron was an absolute pleasure to work with. There was no pressure, and he was exceptionally patient and transparent. Buying a newer vehicle was a difficult decision for me and he made it much easier. He also negotiated a lower monthly payment and overall cost, and even had the vehicle looked over by their shop a second time per my request. Highly recommend.

Ron was extremely professional and went above and beyond. He was kind and respectful to me and my family while we were there. It was such a quick process. He didn’t try give me the typical sales pitch that other dealers did. I knew what I wanted when I showed up and he was there right along the way. He checks in to see how things are going and to see if there’s anything else he can help with. I truly appreciate him and all that he did. A bad taste. Pricing too firm and bargaining too stingy. Salesmen wouldn't come down in price for their vehicles even when clearly in need of service. Passed inspection for their salesfloor but wouldn't have passed without work in private ownership. While there are unique cars on the lot- be warned *customer satisfaction* is not a value- just the customer payment.. Wheel bearings, CV joint needed replacing immediately/ within 4k miles. Clutch failure on my Subaru Forester in under 10k miles. Feeling like their sales team had a gimmic to get my vehicle off the lot. No matter what was brought to their attention they showed no appreciation for my interest in the vehicle. If they do care about reputation they would do more to listen to the customer on the condition of their vehicles on lot.

Nothing short of a fantastic purchasing experience. This is the place to go for quality used vehicles. They can find you anything you're looking for even if it isn't on the lot. Overall just an amazing experience, if and when I need another vehicle I will not hesitate to return. I have always wanted a Denali, I call it my "DREAM VIECHAL" I have been researching them to determine what features and what year I like best. A friend called to say he saw a " sweet looking truck" at Classic Auto near Montpelier. I immediately called and had the good fortune to speak with Ashley. She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, I could hear the smile in her voice. The said the salespersons name was Boomer and he was in his office with another family. She took my number and said he would call me back. He returned my call within 15 minutes, I was on another call when he called. When we connected he was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating to a time that was convenient for my schedule to meet the viechal. There was absolutely no high pressure to get me there. The last viechal I purchased on my own was in 1987, my husband has taken care of that chore since then. When I saw the truck I had all I could do not to do a cartwheel or drool. Boomer spent a lot of time showing and explaining to me about the many features of the truck. When we went for the test drive I asked him to drive because I was so excited I wasn't sure I could keep it on the road. Make no mistake Boomer is a character.....knowledgeable, intelligent, experienced and extremely accommodating. My husband was far from in favor of this purchase, we were trading in a viechal a few years newer with a few less miles. I had to brief him on the differents between needs and wants and for me this truck was both. Boomer was patient as we negotiated through the marital differences. Through my husband's work he is known as the "KING OF NEGOTIATIONS " After talking numbers with Boomer he was very happy with the trade in price we got for our truck and the purchase price for the Denali. I am a Democrat so I was pleased everyone came away happy. I will never drive anther tuck than a Denali and will never purchase from another dealer than Boomer.

Called about a vehicle on Thursday, got a call back on Saturday. I made an offer on that vehicle, they accepted the offer. They then ran my credit for financing. When they called to tell me that my financing was approved (two hours later) they also informed me that they had already sold the vehicle but tried to sell me a different vehicle in it's place.

Ron, from start to finish was easy to work with and handled all paperwork quickly and efficiently. Ron was fun to communicate with and clearly enjoys what he does. Car buying can be a chore sometimes and that was not the case this time. He helped me and my family get into a second car after recently moving up to VT, and he helped us get the needed second key made and programmed just as he said he would. Best car buying experience I've ever had. Just bought a 2014 F-350 Super Duty. The truck was everything I expected with no surprises. This is an honest and personable dealership. Ron is super helpful in answering any questions and made the process fast and easy!! I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a quality car at a fair price.

Purchased a very high-end sports car with high dollars at steak and could not be more happy with the whole process with Boomer and Classic Auto Exchange as a dealer. I had a thousand questions with most over the weekend and afterhours in which Boomer answered them all in a timely manner and what I felt was in a transparent way. I had a pre purchase inspection and Boomer had a driver take the car 45 minute drive away to check at a bodyshop of my choice. He also help me arrange transport for the car from VT down to FL. I would not hesitate to purchase from Classic Auto but with any used car purchase, the value of a pre-purchase inspection is huge to reduce risk. Dealing with Classic Auto Exchange was a great experience and highly recommend.

Be aware buyers. Take the extra time and bring whatever vehicle you like to a trusted shop of your choice before purchasing a vehicle from boomer. Was told car came in on a trade and didn't need much. An oil change and some bushings. We agreed on a bumper replacement some body work to fix couple rust spots a light was out power locks were not working right and rear wiper motor not working.. So I brought car back for them to take care of them things. Locks they were not able to fix. Not long after I get car back car blew blue smoke for a few on startup. I spoke with boomer he said not a problem just some oil on valves. Well not long after the engine blew and was 3 quarts low with dirty oil. Oil was never changed and probably low when I got the car and probably car had problems from the start. Boomers service manager even told me he shouldn't have said the car was fine with the blue smoke and to bring in asap. Boomer said he would do a motor at there cost and try to give a discount on labor. But I lost my cool and now he wants the car gone. Anyways. Have a garage of choice double check what you are buying from them. You could get very screwed like me. I made the first 5 year payment the day it blew. Anyone can sell a car. And delerships are very happy to sell. But as a buyer if you blow an engine in 30days because someone didn't change oil after they said they did and garage wouldn't own up to it how would you feel about that garage after that? You would see that the nice easy sale was for one thing. A sale. They won't stand by you if they make a mistake

Boomer was great to work with on our recent Jeep purchase. He exceeded our expectations and made our whole car buying processing and enjoyable. I will definitely be returning when in the market for another vehicle.

I'm pretty hesitant and picky when it comes to used car dealerships. I dislike the pushy sales and being talked into something I'm not really wanting. Ron was great. I found something I really liked and he made it happen. He was inviting and kind and took his time explaining everything to make sure I understood all the details. I felt good and confident that they stand by their cars/ trucks. And no pushy annoying sales people ! Thank you Ron for making my car buying experience a great one!! I wanted to buy a car from them But but put a credit application in on a vehicle and being denied by a few unwanted surprises from the local credit unions they work wit, Ron went to bat for me to help me correct the problem and work with their lenders to come up with a solution. He helped and educated me via many phone calls knowing full well I probably wasn’t going to buy the car. I probably could have gotten a super high interest loan from a sub-prime lender like most dealer ships offer but in his words “I don’t believe in the that business model. I like being able to sleep at night knowing I’m not selling bad financing terms to my customers.” I didn’t end up buying a car from them but I can guarantee they will be the first place I look when I’m on the market again!

A great place to buy a car already bought two from here, Ron is the best he will always try to help you get in the car you want by knocking off the price of the car so you feel comfortable with the payments, will always recommend this place to anyone trying to find a very reliable and affordable car they do trade in as well will give you the most for your car. I worked with Ron and Boomer recently in my search for an AWD sedan. Test drove many different vehicles, they were very accommodating. Ended up with a nice '09 Subaru Legacy sedan. Appears to be very clean and well cared for. BTW - I visited dealers from Rutland to Burlington to Berlin, VT prior to my visit to Classic Auto and these folks were the nicest to deal with.
