What clients say about State Street Auto Wrecking in Provo (UT)
I went there years ago for some parts for my car door! Good price, I had a good experience, and now looking to go back. But, it’s sad to see them go under. They have been closed since June 2024 saying they “are closed this week”… it’s now mid October 2024. :( I hope they reopen again soon.
I felt like I hit the jackpot here. I found the obscure, discontinued parts I needed for my 1995 Chevy K1500, plus a few other small parts I had given up on finding elsewhere, all for a very reasonable price. And I had fun seeing all the cars while I was at it. I even picked up an alloy wheel in great condition for just $25 for our 2004 Honda Odyssey, which has had one wheel no one can balance since an accident many years ago. Awesome price to get a fourth matching undamaged alloy wheel! To top it all off, the staff I interacted with were very friendly. Thank you to State Street Auto Wrecking for being there so I could affordably get my old vehicle back on the road!
Really nice people and really good parts I hope u guys stay open I went buy there last week are u guys closed down
Great experience. They have excellent service and reasonable price.
Owner/coworkers are awesome and very friendly & reasonable. My son loves going here to "pick" and everyone makes him feel welcome.
Best wrecking yard in Utah County hands down You can look all day long if you prefer David is the best to deal with "honest straight to the point" he knows everything that's in his yard Best prices around I highly recommend shopping at State Street
Happy with their services and very happy with their pricing. I don't feel like they are trying to screw anyone over.
If I could I would give it no stars, I wouldn’t be surprised if the good reviews are girl made up accounts or friends/family 🤦🏻♀️ I do not recommend This place unless you want to go through hell, bought a transmission from them and than noticed the transmission was broken, I called and let them know which the said to send the video I had recorded of the issue, when I sent it they said to give them some time to see if they had another one, they asked for the vin #of the vehicle and after hours of me trying to get an answer they finally told me they had pulled one out for us to pick up, I took the one I had back to them after removing it from the vehicle and when I get there they had the wrong transmission and didn't have one available for me,I called the place and the guy I spoke to was VERY rude and couldn't handle a baby crying in the background, so instead of telling me he couldn't hear me (politely) because of it he decided to hung up on me. I called back and requested to speak to a supervisor, which when transferred to the supposed sup, he ended up telling me he was the owner and the one who hung up on me. I find it so unprofessional and nothing business like to do such a thing, I had heard that this place was the worst place to shop on but didn't think it was that bad until now that I got to experience it my self. Ridiculous because they make fun of you when addressing your concern but I can see why now (the owner has no morals) for an owner to treat paying customers the way he did is trashy.
Call in they put you on hold for 15 minutes until hanging up on you. Happened to me 3 or 4 different times. Got a hold of a guy for a quote once and was told he would call back. Of course he never did. Left messages for a call back no response. Terrible customer service and wouldn't recommend.
Anytime i've ever tried to go here They are closed.I don't think they are open anymore
BEWARE, we purchased online a motor for $500. never got it, no ones there, no one is answering
The owner promised $500 and when i got the title he refused to give me the full amount and only paid $400. I’ve never had anything like that happen before. It’s the most messed up business exchange I’ve ever seen. Never do business at the place.
Great people have been going there for years always friendly.....recommend
For picking out parts that you need, 5 stars hands down. Great little yard with a variety of cars. They don't nickle and dime you like the big places do. They might not have a big fancy online inventory, but they give you a generous/fair price in stuff. I went back today just for a couple bolts I forgot and they didn't even charge me! 10/10 would recommend if they have the car you're looking to pull stuff from
By far the best priced wrecking yard in the area. And easily the most friendly and professional staff too. If being closed on the weekends means keeping the prices the low, then it’s a great trade off.
Best prices in town! I just junked my car and sold it to them for $300. There was a tow fee of $60 but I've never heard of a tow fee less than $100 so I was happy! Other company's I called around to offered me $150! So definitely the better deal. The only reason I give 3 stars is because the customer service could be better! The person I talked to on the phone sounds like he hates his job! And the tow truck driver was almost an hour late!
We were selling our junk vehicle. They quoted us a good price. One of the guys recognized my mom as a repeat customer and gave her an better price. Everyone we dealt with there, from the tow truck driver to the person paying us for the car were very friendly and knowledgeable!! We will definitely be back!
Our car was towed to their yard last night after we were rear ended and our car was no longer drivable. The insurance company called today stating that they require the car owner to go to their location to sign a release. I called and spoke with Taylor, who told me we had to go there between 8 am and 5 pm to sign the release of the car to the insurance company and I explained to him that we don't have a car and need to get a rental car arranged by the insurance company. However, they will not do it, until they are allowed to tow our car out of their yard to a shop they work with. Taylor told me to get an Uber and get there before 5 pm and that was all he could do. I asked him if he could email us the release and we could email it back with a copy of the driver license and he told me that he can't. They are old school and their business works on their word and honesty... Is he for REAL???? I will never use this yard again, not that I was at choice yesterday anyways. Horrible customer service and poor operations processes! Don't ever use them, if you can choose! Specially Taylor! He is the worst!!! After reading their response to some of the reviews I can see their poor attitude and lack of respect for the customers that keep them in business! Bless their little hearts! I am reporting them to the BBB! People need to know to not patronize businesses that are just in for the money and don't care about anything else. They are going to need Jesus to forgive them! :P
Super friendly and helpful folks who really helped us out when my kid's car died on the freeway. I wish all companies would be as customer service oriented as they are!
Only been down here a couple times when I couldn't find what I needed in Salt Lake. Both times the owner was incredibly nice. Pulled what I needed and was asked what I thought was a fair price, both times accepted my offer. The vehicles here are not on stands like other yards and are usually packed pretty close together so making your way around can be a little difficult, maybe not the best place if you're looking for suspension components and I doubt you'd be able to get an engine hoist in there, but for smaller items this place is fantastic.
Pretty cheap. Only drawback is they're like "yeah we have a prius, it's 3/4 of the way out there" in a huge lot took 20min to find. Near closing time the guy came and said "we're closing" but I didn't realize I had 10min left still. They are closed saturday. I called pickapart to get a quote, then called here, he said they might have it. I asked how much, he said "what's it worth to you" i said pickaparts price less 5 (which was 15) he said ok. Also no entrance fee. I think possibly cheaper than other places.
By far the BEST used parts dealer in the state. Awesome inventory and great prices. The nicest thing about State Street is the awesome customer service. Dave really cares about his customers and always ensured my satisfaction... Thanks for being AWESOME!!!
I sold my car to this fine establishment today. Took less than 5 minutes to do so. I had the impression that I would get $100 cash for my car, which was fine, but the gentleman I sold it to said they actually buy them for $275. I was amazed. I walked away with almost triple what I expected. If you need to get rid of a junk car, please sell it here and support this honest business! (They also have three very friendly dogs!)
I called to see if they'd buy my junker car and they gave me a quote on how much they'd pay for it and said if I found a better deal anywhere to let them know. I had already called around, so I knew they gave me the best offer. I drove my car straight over, signed over the title and they paid me. It was so easy.
They had exactly what I needed. They answered the phone, and verified that they had several of the model and year of car I was looking for. There was no charge to wander around their lot looking for parts. Their prices were amazing, and I walked out with exactly what I needed. I'll definitely go back!
pros: this is my favorite junk yard. prices MUCH better than pick-a-part friendly service cons: Super muddy after rain. bring boots. cars not organized and not on blocks. Batteries not disconnected, which is kind of dangerous.
Hit a deer on our way up to Utah to visit some family. Deer had ripped our passenger mirror off the car and we needed a new one. Called and they said they had one left and it was exactly what we needed. Price was more than fair and pulling it was easy. They were even kind enough to let me borrow some wasp repellent for the wasps that started coming out of the mirror. Great guys and helpful!
Best junkyard in Utah. Friendly staff and good prices, and they have several older vehicles to get parts from. Worth the trip!
This was my first time going to this yard! But was very happy I did excellent people, the yard wasn't to big so you dont have to travel the whole yard to look for the exact vehicle you need. But I found LOTS of others that work for my likens. Give this place a try you may be surprised what you'll find! A great find for sure.

It amazes me that this is just one of the several businesses that could care less about getting back to you when you need something. I wanted to purchase a 1986 Honda transmission that they had and after several calls and attempts to order I just said the heck with it. Would not return my call so I gave them a call two more times without response. They obviously don't need the money!
