Order from the grill over easy eggs not runny. I was given runny eggs. Taken the eggs back explained what I ordered the customer service at the grill is not very nice. The cook did make me 2 eggs and they were flat like a tortilla nasty. I did talk to the manager and he didn’t even offer a refund or credit. I expected more friendly customer service and mgmt from this reputable business.

Not what they used to be. They've definitely fell off. I bought a pan sausage pig. It was raw. I will definitely not be stopping there any more. Be very careful what you eat from there.

Our family has been eating there for 30 years or more. It has never once been a bad experience. The turkey non peppered jerky is so freaking good you'd have to have it to understand. As a kid id chew on it for way too long and the next piece would be a burst of flavor. Can recommend it enough

Been eating here for over a decade and had nothing but rave reviews about their BBQ. Well, today is my first and last day to their BBQ. Every piece was full of nerves! Couldn’t chew it. And asked for NO ONIONS! Got onions hidden under the meat. Hiding it under the meat. Potato salad was off. It was different. Use to be my favorite. And the bathrooms have been hard to trigger the water to flow out. And about 3 of them were out of order. Pretty disappointed. Gonna have to stop elsewhere for my BBQ fix.

My family has been friends with The Praseks for well over 50 years and they have never disappointed with their wonderful selection of meats and bakery items and are wonderful people!! But unfortunately, last Wednesday I stopped in and we weren't even greeted as we came in. The cashier's were very rude and dismissive, and felt their phones were more important than their customers. Zero eye contact and acted as if they didn't want to be there. As a fellow business owner, I would not let this continue and tarnish this family's legacy.

Waited 25 minutes for an order of fried okra and tater tots. Never came. Asked and the staff just said sorry and shrugged. Asked staff at front desk if I could get a free chips since we couldn’t wait longer. They weren’t able to help. The kolache I did have sucked- dough was hard and tasteless. Wish Original Kountry Bakery in Schulenberg was open on Sundays or we would have never stopped here !!!

Man this is my type of pllace! I was like a kid in a candy store! I didnt expect a meat market plus restaurant (smokehouse) etc. They had there layout /set up/ business so CNO Clean Neat and Organized! Many goodies to explore or choose from. I wemt during rush lunch hour and I had no wait time for my plate. I got the 3 meat plate and it was delicious...even though there were so many people I had plenty of tables/seats to choose from. I cant wait to return! There market offers many goodies to take gome for the bbq as I did!

Stop by to see what the fuss is all about this bbq joint but I was disappointed. Got the 3 meat plate with fatty brisket and ribs. To my surprise it was all tasteless . The briskets were though and hardly and bark on them. The ribs were the same.The bbq sauce is all vinegar. It is over priced and not that good. The HEB BBQ PIT is wayyyy better than this place.

Fantastic sandwiches! Grilled brisket and cheese! The cheeseburger was fantastic! Bakery items looked exceptional. Huge selection of meats to grill! Big store!

My first time taking wild game here for processing, and I am extremely impressed. Packaging is appealing/appetizing and the meat came out phenomenal. Prasek’s will be my go-to going forward.

Love this place! clean rest rooms, great dinner to eat at anytime of the day. easy on/off the highway, we shop the smoke house products every time we are there. prices for food and fuel are fair. all should stop and visit.

Great store with lots of beef, steak, and sausage choices. Need to give the mad man pushing the wet sweeper around another assignment or time to do it though. He was turning circles around all 3 of us as well as other customers. There was no escaping...we'd relocate and there was again. Was beginning to think it was a hidden camera prank.

Evaluating Any Barbecue or Smokehouse Comes Down To This One Thing.... My friend was hyping this place up and though I really wanted to love it, and it's got some very good points, ultimately or falls short. The good. Customer service, friendly, professional, nice vibe and ambience. A very wide selection of sauces and salsas, very clean restrooms. But you're here for the food right? The ribs were good. Not a lot of meat on them, but they had flavor. The sausage, not bad, but nothing you can't get at a regular grocery store for much less. Oh, and the drink sizes are very big. Even their medium is quite large, so kudos for that. The less good. The food was cold. Both mine and my friend's. I'm not super big on temperature with food and don't often care if it's just slightly warm, but this was cold, cold. The fries were small, and ok. The onion rings had like 6 onion rings in the order. The one thing a Smokehouse / Barbecue establishment should know how to do is brisket, and unfortunately the brisket here is nowhere close to it. If you love flavorless, limp brisket, you'll go crazy for what they serve here. Somewhat tender, but also chewy, imagine hastily processed vegan brisket, distilled in a lab test tube, made out of cardboard and toilet paper rolls that's both soft and chewy at the same time. With No, and I mean No hint of flavor. Even the sauce that goes with it is bland, watery and flavorless. Food this poor and at this price? No thank you sir. Unfortunately with time many restaurants often get lazy and complacent and it shows in their food. Especially in an area without much competition, some restaurants seem to look down at their client base believing they'll slop up whatever they serve. Prasek, this can't be the brisket you built your reputation on. You can and should do better. Your customers certainly will.

I had a plate with brisket and beef & pork sausage today, January 17, 2025. The brisket was juicy and the sausage wasn’t too salty. Sauce not good. I gave my two sides to someone. I purchased (pound) beef jerky, jalapeño ($30.59) after eating some more after I got home I would say not worth the money. No special taste, just dry and salty.

It's like buccees but better! You can smell the delicious food before even stepping inside. We went during their 50th anniversary - grabbed the lunch special of beef tips and they were delicious! Any time I'm near the area, I'm making a pit stop. They have a lot of amazing items from freshly baked breads to Stanley cups.

I was headed to see historical Goliad with about 38 folks in a Meetup group. Our organizer stopped for lunch here. I wasn't crazy about going here because it's a mostly meat restaurant and store. But I didn't have a choice. There were too many heads of hunted animals as decor, but obviously, the diners don't mind. Luckily, they have vegetarian sides. I opted for potato salad and Cole slaw. The potato salad could have had more mustard. The Cole slaw was shredded too fine. I got an iced tea and mixed sweet and unsweet. Their tea is too watered down and not the best. They lack fresh lemon slices. Instead, they have lemon packs. But not to fret. Having such a sweet tooth, I picked a chocolate eruption cake slice to go. It was delicious. Prasek's has all types of bagged snacks to go. Their bathrooms have a Cowboy theme. Check out their sinks. There is beautiful wooden patio furniture for sale, lots of Yeti products, some clothing items, and much more.

This is by far (with the exception of Buc-ee’s) the list Texas gas station out there. Groceries, butcher, drinks, store, friendly employees, and extremely clean. This is a place to stop if it happens to be on your route anywhere!

Prasek’s is always a good stop when you are on the road. Sweet tea, flavored coffee, tasty snacks, great selection of Texas wine if you forgot a hospitality gift for your hosts. Clean and beautiful bathrooms, friendly staff, and no crowds. Best of all, they don’t use all the annoying billboards that Buccee’s does to entice you to make a pit stop. They have lots of clothing and gifts. Try them— you’ll like this good Czech chain.

Stopped into Praseks today for lunch on the way to Corpus. Clean restrooms, clean and private baby changing stations in both the men’s and women’s restrooms. friendly staff. Good bakery and big meat market. The BLT looks great. The wife dug in before I could get photos. I had the brisket and sausage with green beans and potato salad. Brisket was tasty but could have benefited from a thicker bark and deeper smoke ring. The sausage was pretty good. Green beans were overcooked and soft. All in all though a pretty good place to grab a bite between Corpus and Houston.

One great benefit to visiting family in the area is the opportunity to stop at Prasek’s. Been making a point to stop here since way back when it was a much smaller store/gas station. Love the smoked meats and the great assortment of jams, jellies and relishes. If they haven’t run out, be sure to get some of their excellent kolaches.

Stopped by coming in from Houston to buy steaks to throw on the pit . Man came out with ribeyes and a brisket! Good quality meat I must say! If you ever in the area this place has a variety of meats to smoke , grill or whatever.

Drove in from Richmond (50 miles) to try out their BBQ ribs but they were already out at 5pm. Ordered the double meat plate. The sides were excellent. The brisket was a little fatty but good. The smoked turkey was better. Tried their desserts, too and they were good. Found the prices to be a little high.

Well it wasn't bad. But not that great. Why do so many of these places have to season their fries with dragon fire. Come on people you need to ask us "seasoned or un seasoned " not that I don't mind seasoning , but most people can not handle it , so if you are monitoring this smokehouse please be mindful of allergies. Nice store though.

The food was good quality, the the favor of the BBQ Burger, was very good the patty was small and it was on bread slice not a hamburger bun. My wife has to eat gluten free and she was able to get a nice BBQ chicken plate. The atmosphere was friendly and warm. If you are on US59 passing through Hillje it is a perfect place to stop.

Prasek's is a great place to stop for gas, a quick meal, and its also fun. They have all kinds of jerky, smoked meats, and specialty foods you don't see elsewhere. They have a counter to order brisket plates, sandwiches, etc and their dining area features wild game mounts and a giant aquarium which is fun for the kids. Lots of fun merchandise too. Stopped in for gas and a restroom break. Cool store with a large variety of outdoorsy stuff and a restaurant. The restaurant is not a table service style. You order and pickup your food and take it to your table. I did not eat as it t was too early but the food looked ok. The packages jerky, meats, etc... seemed pretty expensive to me. The outside of the place looks like an old western town. A pretty cool place to stop.

Love everything on the menu. Jerky is best I've ever had. Brisket sandwich with jalapeño sausage & potato salad is my favorite. Had a smoked pork loin on rye sandwich today. Very good I'll eat that again. The meats they sell are awesome. Try any of the stuffed pork chops.
