TJ Burdett is the best place to take your scrap. We have been going there for at least 4 years or more. The guys who work there are like family I personally would not go any other place. We've not been able to pickup scrap this year for one reason or another but hope so soon as it's one of our sources of income . Miss you guys 🤗 hugs.
Used to come here exclusively but they ripped me off a few days ago. I'm already struggling to get by and it was very disappointing. They used to be honest. RIP TJ. He's probably rolling over in his grave watching these guys rip people off with his name up on that sign.
I took in 5 batteries that had been cluttering up my shed. I was surprised I was paid as much as I was. The guys there were really nice and I had zero problems. Thank you for everything.
I went in today to sell some batteries. The crew was all friendly and quickly unloaded my truck. They also had the best price around.

Great place to get rid of your scrap metal. Got a fair trade on it. And I got to figure out how much my truck weighs. Easy scale in scale out. For big trucks and Pick up trucks. Friendly staff and good service. Well definitely get rid of scrap metal here again.
Only bad thing I can say is they said I couldn't tip the employees for the great job they did. They went above and beyond to make sure I got all the money I was due instead of trying to get over on me. I would recommend them to anyone!
These folks are the best thing since sliced bread and the round wheel if I could buy the business and keep all the employees due to their pleasantness excellent people
Started using TJ’s for recycling scrap metal this past year and have been nothing but satisfied with their customer service and general helpfulness. I would recommend anyone in Huntsville and surrounding areas to give them a visit.
Bob is great guy works hard to keep his family business going. I have been taking my scrap metal there for years. The team he has gets you unloaded and out before you know it. I'm glad Walker county has T J Burdett & Sons Recycling. A little story I new Bob was A Great Dane guy as I was myself. My daughters and I found A Great Dane that was dumped on my road. I New Bob would give her a great home and life. I asked him and he said yes. If your ever up there ask about Xora and see the bond he has with her. Thank you Bob keep up the great work !!
The website says they are open on Saturdays til 5pm. We drove an hour to get there, arriving at 4:25 only to find them closed. Update your hours of operation, or be open for business when you say you are open!!
I cannot say enough great things about the way this company treats it's customers. From the first phone call through the last hand shake once you are done, these people make you feel like family and do their best to do their best for you. I recommend using this group of people for any of your recycling questions or needs!
Honestly the BEST scrap yard in from houston to Dallas! From the prices to the hospitality to organization, they are great. I luckily live in the same city, but I would drive far just to come here with my scrap if I didn't! Great job guys.
Couldn't be easier.
1) Drive onto the scale to weigh before unloading.
2) Drive around to the back and they unload.
3) Drive back onto the scale to weigh after unloading.
4) They pay you.
You don't even have to get out of your vehicle.
My only minor complaint is that there is a lot of small scrap metal bits laying around. I'm always worried about my tires when I drive through there.
