My grandfather and uncles were good friends with Mr. Callender, and Mr. Bell after him, and helped develop the lake. He helped with putting down the roads, and built some of the first homes there. I remember an A-frame that I always wanted to live in. My family's farm is one mile to the west, towards FM773, on the south side.
Well the neighborhood is pretty fantastic. Enough ppl my age to make friends for sure but not so many its like a party town...lol. I do have one complaint and that would be the office. This is a gated community where property is purchased not rented so i don't understand why the ppl in the office cancled all these ppl's codes for the gate and are making them pay 25 dollars for a card or 50 dollars for a remote entry clicker. Im pretty sure federal law states that homeowners have the right to there entry no matter what. I have seen so many of these homeowners sitting at the gate having to wait for someone else to come and open the gate in the middle of the day and its the middle of summer!!!...HOT!!! Im pretty sure making these ppl pay for entry into there own property is extortion or at least against the law right? Im pretty messed up about it. Might wanna check out whats really going on out here before you make any descions about buying. #rippinpploff? #hickoryhills
