we got stuck for 5 hours in mud and we called them and they said that they would come out. My uncle called them to see if they were coming out to get us and the girl on the phone was angry that we were calling and they decided that they won’t come get us. About 1 hour later they called us back saying that they would come get us but charge us 600$ and that’s a ridiculous price. so we said no. We would have stayed the night stranded out there with no water or food but we called a friend and he came and got us out for free. Not only that they were cussing us out over the phone they are a bunch of scammers.
Be careful this place is a scam me and brother were stuck out by lake they sent tow truck who ended up leaving said didn’t want to chance it. They were rude the secretary on phone just because I called to make sure they were coming. So then they had there buddy call me I ask how much would he charges he asked the k and j towing driver how much he was going to charge us and he said 500 to 600 dollars. Are you kidding me man even if I was rich that is ridiculous I told him forget it. Thank god a man from balmorhea in his for pickup pulled us out we tried to pay him but he would not take our money but he let us take him to eat..
The only thing worse on a cross country trip than a blowout on the RV is having the tire person explain that the other three tires are also bad. Thank you Julia from K. & J towing. Had a blowout on a uhaul trailer. Uhaul dispatched K&J and they had me back on the road in under an hour from start to finish on a Sunday evening, which is remarkable in this part of the world considering how remote it is. Kevin was polite, professional, and fast! Highly recommend if you need roadside assistance in the vicinity of Balmorhea!
My car broke down outside Van Horn. Bryan from K and J towed me into Van Horn. He was super nice and professional. He went above and beyond and called an auto repair shop in Van Horn to help me. Thank you so much!!! I highly recommend this towing service.

Brian responded to us at 1am and was amazing. He got to us very quickly and was incredibly helpful to us out-of-towners.

Had a blow out on our U-Haul trailer on i10 west in the middle of the night. U-Haul dispatched K&J and Kevin responded quickly and replaced tire within 10 minutes and we were back on the road. He was very courteous and called to verify our location as we were not close to any roads
My wife and I had car trouble 50 miles east of Van Horn, TX, in other words, in the middle of nowhere. We were lucky our insurance secured a tow truck since it was in the middle of the night. However, the insurance only covered 50 miles to Van Horn, which has nothing, especially on a Saturday at midnight. The response time was AMAZING. I spoke to the tow truck operator, Mr. Brian and he was willing to take us to El Paso, TX, an additional 150 miles. This was an out-of-pocket expense, but they were fair in price. He was very professional and friendly and further recommended a brand-new Firestone Complete Car Center on the east side of El Paso. He dropped us and our car off and even offered to take us to the hotel. After further speaking with others, I realized the price and value were great. I highly recommend this tow company for all your light or heavy-duty tow needs.
Had a blowout heading West on I-10 in the middle of the night, and my insurance roadside assistance dispatched K&J. Brian was amazing! He was patient, helpful, and friendly. He towed our car and took us to our hotel for the night. Great, speedy customer service! Thanks, Brian!
My truck has overheated. Needed battery service then Towing. Kevin showed up in 10 minutes. He helped me with everything. Gave me ride to hotel. Next day took me to truck stop to get ride to Houston. He is a great Man. I will never forget him.
I had a Uhaul trailer tire blow and was stranded with my kids. Was given a 90 minute window for their arrival. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived in an hour. Worker who showed up had me back on the road in 15 minutes.
I called at 500am and someone picked up right away. They drove the 24 miles to rest area to give me a jump. Pricing was half of what other companies wanted to charge. Then it only took them 45 mins to arrive. This company is spot on. Thank you again for getting me out of a bind.
The owner, Kevin, is a class act. Totally made us feel at ease after my wife and I had an apocalyptic tire blow out that destroyed the electrical wiring in our jeep.
Not only did he give us advice which kept us from being stranded in a half-horse town in the middle of nowhere west Texas, after our hundred mile tow he went above and beyond to make sure we were well situated and safely set up. Couldn't recommend this company any stronger. A family operation which will treat you like family. A++++

Probably the best experience I've had with a tow service yes I had to pay $105 fee but I had also pay $20 for the gas but the owner of the company which just so happened to be the person to come out and help me to not charge me because for some reason my card wasn't going through on his square pay and he knew that I had to be in Arizona the next morning for a court and he knew how important it was so he went ahead and filled me up and just told me that if I could leave him a good review and I take that that doesn't even suffice to what he was able to do for me so thank you Kevin I really appreciate you and I appreciate your service that you provided that night thank you
Ran out of gas 12 minutes from this towing company. I called and they said it’s $150.00 plus double gas. Lady said no would would come out there and bring me gas for free. Someone actually did stop and offered 2 gallons of free gas. I gave them $100 for their time and kindness. I never said I wanted gas for free but that I didn’t want to be scammed. Great.. I understand businesses need to make money but that doesn’t mean scamming someone helpless. Moral compass might be a little broken K & J!
The transmission in our truck failed on a blistering Saturday afternoon while towing our 5th wheel cross country. Kevin (the 'K' in K & J) showed up within minutes of being dispatched by our insurer. It was literally the fastest response I've ever seen (and I've seen several), a welcome relief from the West Texas summer heat.
Though the insurer's dispatcher had neglected to identify the need to tow the truck AND our 5th wheel, Kevin and his wife ('J') quickly sorted out the need for additional equipment (a rollback rig for the truck and a rig with 5th wheel hitch for our RV), as well as the additional paperwork needed from the insurer.
K & J quickly got us situated at a local RV park where we could wait for transmission shops to open the following Monday.
The service was so good on the first tow that I happily went through the extra hassle required to ensure that K & J were dispatched again that Monday to tow both vehicles from the RV park to the transmission shop ~130 miles away.
Despite delays caused by our need to negotiate with our insurers, and a busy day for K & J, once they were dispatched K & J got my truck to the transmission shop posthaste. In fact, after calling ahead to check that the owner would be around after closing time, they got to the shop just in time for the shop to take it in before the end of the day, allowing the shop to diagnose the problem first thing in the morning. This alone was worth it, saving me AND my insurer the time, trouble and expense of another tow in the morning. They definitely incurred extra fuel expense (and may or may not have abided by all speed limits) getting the truck delivered in time.
You'll notice all the reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star. I read every 1 star review. They all seem to be either issues with picking the wrong insurer for emergency roadside assistance, or having unrealistic expectations.
I have no reservations about recommending K & J Towing.
Found out K & J Towing is contacted by my Insurance company so basically for this guy just to show up is $262 out of my pocket and what the Insurance pays them is a small fee this guy is a joke. Definitely is a bully but not today ha ha well I canceled before they got here guy needs a lesson is life basically! This place is a joke!
We were on a family vacation, driving through the Davis Mountains in a new car when the transmission went out! Roadside assistance sent Tom from K&J towing. He was a Godsend. Kind, professional and a delight to talk with on the haul to Fort Stockton to the nearest dealership! It was a pleasure to meet Tom and I wish him and K & J towing well!
We were driving home from vacation and all of a sudden the engine started to overheat. Roadside assistance sent K & J out to pick us up. Adam called to let us know when he was close and made the whole process seamless. He not only got us to the dealership, but he waited with us to take us to a hotel nearby. He even gave us recommendations on where to eat. He was even talked about highly by the ladies working at the dealership. He went above and beyond! Thanks K and J.

We were traveling from Nevada to Texas. Our GPS took us down North Cedar Rd in Pecos TX, a tiny oil rigging town. The road was more for industrial traffic. We hit a HUGE pothole and got a flat tire. It was myself, my fiancé and the three girls with all of our luggage. We were told to have to car towed and put in storage for the night. No one in that town had the size tire we needed so we needed to travel to a few towns over about an hour away. That night Brian(I think that was his name, Mohawk and beard) came to get us in this huge tow truck!!! He took us to our hotel and let us get all our stuff out the car. Super nice guy!!!! The next day he came back to get us and drove us a about an hour away to get the tires fix! The person on the phone we spoke with was also great!!!!! Thank you guys so much for the help!!!!!
Use this wrecking company if you want to be robbed of your money. The initial amount they were charging me was for 1600 for a tow that was 33 miles away from where they were. Which of course is ridiculous. Once I got the invoice I reviewed it and I saw they charge 5.00 per mile and 6.00 per mile back. (Which is understandable) What isn’t understandable is they charge 200$ for a call out at 330 in the afternoon on a Tuesday, they charge an additional 200$ per hour, 75$ per hook up, and 20% if they have to use an additional wrecker. Keep in mind it was a single car accident. The vehicle hit a gaurdrail. So they needed 2 wreckers to tow one vehicle. Oh but hey they “helped” us out by only charging 900.00. It’s a shame that this company goes on taking advantage of the situation.
Fantastic! I cannot tell you how helpful the people at K&J are! As the GM of Coast to Coast Rent-A-Car, I've dealt with many towing companies, and NONE of them are as amicable as the folks at K&J. One of my units was involved in an accident down in their area, and I couldn't get in touch with the County Sheriff's office, fire department, or city hall. But Kevin was able to tell me everything I needed to know, and he set me on the right path for getting everything else handled. Thank you!!!
These dudes where awesome, very quick service, U Haul broke down, they called them out an bam, less than half an hour to an hour they where out here ready to diagnose the problem. cared about the customer, and where chill to talk too, reccomend them to anybody in need of a tow.

My bike broke down at the side of the I-10 and they collected me, helped fix the problem and got me back up on the road. Even though they’re not bike specialists they were super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I 100% recommend!
They were awesome. Had a flat and called insurance for road side assistance. They were quick getting to us and changing the tire was even faster. Great service!!!
